Chapter 157 - Chapter 157: Unwavering Love

"It's fine. It's only natural to want to resurrect a loved one. I can understand. If there's nothing else, I'll be going. I'm not in a good state right now." Arthas drained the tea in one gulp. The statement was a bit flippant yet very serious. It was clear he was going to find a woman to mate with and vent.

"Your Highness, please wait. If I use myself as the price, can that be exchanged for the resurrection of my husband?" Lireesa couldn't help but ask another question. She wasn't an untouched virgin; she was a married woman. There was nothing she couldn't do.

"General, I must tell you, this is a form of Soul Binding. If we do it once, you will have to do it with me periodically forever. This is the price, an eternal price. I like Alleria, so I didn't tell her the truth, only promising to take her as my consort. Do you think you can accept this price? To be my consort for life, to mate with me, and possibly even get pregnant. So, please choose carefully.

Furthermore, resurrection is not a one-hundred-percent guarantee. You may not know this, but after death, a soul goes to the Soul's Resting Place. If the soul has already been dispatched from there, it cannot be resurrected. But the price will have been paid, and it's very possible to go through all the trouble for nothing."

"The living have their world, and the dead have theirs. Death is not the end, but another beginning." Arthas's expression was grave, but inwardly he was about to squeal with laughter like a pig. He wasn't particularly sexually interested in Lireesa, though of course, a mother-daughter pair would be the best.

But now was not the time. He wasn't in the mood; he had many other things to deal with, and he had specific women to vent his sexual desires on. Whether it was the Naga, Hailey, or the green dragon, Emeriss, both were excellent outlets.

He even mated with Hailey once every day. Mating with a concubine yielded double the Life Essence, and that was what mattered most.

"If one dies again in the Realm of the Dead, can they be resurrected?" After asking this, Lireesa suddenly realized her intelligence might be dropping. How could she ask such a foolish question?

"That would be Soul Annihilation. Alright, General, I will give you a choice. You can choose to proceed with the attempt, but it may not succeed. Regardless of success or failure, you will bear an irreversible price. I'll give you one minute to think." Arthas drew his longsword, sat down in a chair, and lowered his gaze, an intimidating aura beginning to rise from him.

"I choose to try. There's no need to wait." Lireesa made her decision quickly.

For love, she was willing to sacrifice herself. Her children were already grown and didn't need her to worry about them, so she could make up her mind to resurrect her husband.

"I need to examine his body. He cannot be resurrected if his head was cut off." Arthas calmly stated his request and mentioned some preconditions.

Lireesa listened very carefully. She wasn't without a trace of suspicion, but as Arthas spoke, she felt he was genuinely telling the truth. If he merely coveted her body, there would be no need for such a roundabout approach.

Besides, as a prince, what kind of woman couldn't he have? Why would he be interested in an old woman like her?

The two came to a room. Traces of the scorched forest were still visible outside. In the middle of the floor lay a corpse, placed inside an ice-sealed coffin.

Without a word, Arthas began his examination. He detected a trace of a sinister aura, a nauseating green energy. Fel Energy!

"Was he killed by an Orc assassin? Did that assassin use any magic?" Arthas's brow furrowed. Logically, the only Orcs who could use fel magic were the Shadow Council Warlocks. But with Orgrim's rise to power, all the warlocks had been eliminated, leaving only Gul'dan. How could there be a trace of Fel Energy?

"Yes, he was struck by a spell I had never seen before." Lireesa's heart leaped into her throat. She had a bad feeling.

"I'm sorry, but I must tell you, the chance of resurrection is less than ten percent. First, this Fel Energy will corrupt the soul and alter certain biological traits. I am certain his soul is incomplete, or has even been destroyed. Otherwise, he would have felt my summons when I used the large-scale Prayer Oracle yesterday.

Second, he has either been taken to the Shadowlands and already judged and sent where he belongs, so he cannot be recalled. In either case, the possibility of resurrection is minuscule. My advice is not to do it, not to waste your lifespan." Arthas shook his head, delivering the cruel truth.

Lireesa closed her eyes, then snapped them open. "No, I still choose to try, even if there's only a sliver of a chance."

Arthas rubbed his nose, looking somewhat displeased and unwilling to help. "You'd be better off saving your strength. In the future, if you become powerful enough, you might be able to find him in the Shadowlands. If his soul has been shattered by Fel Energy, then there's truly no trace left. I advise you to give up."

"No, I insist. Your Highness, I beg you, please, I beg you." Lireesa lowered her head, tears streaming down her face. One cannot understand this kind of marital bond without several thousand years of time.

She had no idea she was sprinting down the path to becoming a cum-dumpster. Arthas had given her several chances, but she hadn't caught on. She was prey destined to walk into the trap, and no one could save her!

"Are you willing to become my consort for this, to serve me daily, even if it might not succeed? I've already said, the man is dead. Please accept my condolences." Arthas continued to fan the flames. He already knew of Lireesa's persistence, but he preferred to be a scoundrel first and a gentleman later, making everything clear so there was no turning back.

"I insist!" Lireesa's face was streaked with tears as she spoke. She knew the consequences, but she still wanted to resurrect her husband. This was love.

An excellent NTR wife-type prey. Did she really not know the consequences?

"Then let me see your sincerity." After speaking, Arthas walked over and pushed Lireesa down.

He looked at her charming face, which, despite the crow's feet, still exuded the allure of a mature woman. She bore a strong resemblance to Alleria, and her tear-stained appearance easily stirred a kind of tyrannical impulse within him.
