Chapter 13 - Chapter 12

Valen hurried to the King's chambers, the maids were already at his door step but he was nowhere to be found.

"He refuses to come out..." one of the maids whispered.

"Not again..."

"I heard she is a delegate from the blue moon pack,"

"I heard she had witches ancestry..."

A woman?

Valen tried to enter the King's chambers but the maids stopped her, "sire...I think it's better we wait for the King to requests for you before you enter."

"What exactly do you mean?" Valen frowned at the maids.

"We dare not stop you from entering but we value your life, whenever there is a high delegate woman who comes over to the palace without informing the King on time, anyone who tries to call the king always end up dead."

The maid looked extremely shaken by her own words but that didn't stop Valen, she knocked briefly, everyone at her back gasped and some started muttering.

They heard footsteps slowly approaching, some gripped their clothes while some were vividly scared by the footsteps.

The doors opened and King Kaelvryn came out, his expression unreadable, "which princess this time?"

Valen bowed, "she's from the blue moon pack," she answered calmly.

The king nodded pointed at the maid close to Valen, "you there...bring only the delegate to my study."

The maid bowed and left hurriedly, Valen and King Kaelvryn made their way to the study. The moment they arrived, someone was already there standing close to the door.

She was a vision of elegance and poise, with dark brown hair cascading down her back like a rich, velvety waterfall. Her skin glams like warm caramel, the moment she turned with a smile on her face, her golden brown eyes sparkled with a hint of mystery.

Her curves are a work of art, sculpted by the gods themselves, every movement is a symphony of grace and confidence.

"Kaelvryn...long time no see," her voice was soft and alluring.

"Daphne..." Kaelvryn's voice was calm but something felt off.

Valen still stood one side mesmerized by the woman's beauty but Daphne looked at her with a disgusting look.

"A new guard I presume," she said calmly.

King Kaelvryn looked at Valen's side and nodded, "what are you doing here?"

Daphne walked closer and trailed her finger on his chest, Kaelvryn grabbed her hand away, she chuckled softly and leaned in closely whispering something inaudible to his hearing.

Kaelvryn looked at her for a while and then headed into his study with Daphne trailing behind him.

"I don't think you're needed in here," Daphne tried to stop Valen from entering but Kaelvryn growled at her, she scoffed and then allowed her to enter.

"Since when did you start allowing guards into our personal business," Daphne rolled her eyes and folded her arms.

"You still haven't told me why you came here unannounced," Kaelvryn said, sitting across her.

Daphne pulled a chair and sat, "I will not be answering any questions as long as that guard is there."

King Kaelvryn stood abruptly, "then you don't want to have a discussion with me," Daphne quickly held him by the hand.

"Fine...just sit, my father sent me here to discuss about future plans that may be beneficial to both kingdoms."

"Marriage?" Kaelvryn said bluntly.

"If you put it that way then yes I don't mind," Daphne shrugged.

Kaelvryn chuckled softly, placing his fingers on the bridge of his nose, "Daphne...oh Daphne..."

Daphne furrowed her brows confused at Kaelvryn, "you think you can strut in here and just place your stupid demands like that especially marriage when your pack has been one of the reason why I can't think straight."

"What are you talking about?"

"You're asking what I'm talking about? We've caught several spies from your pack leaking information to other wolves, witches and even hunters and you dare propose marriage to benefit both kingdoms, do I look stupid to you?"

Daphne blinked her eyes terribly confused, "I...I...don't..."

"Oh please save me the drama," Kaelvryn stood up and brought out scrolls from the shelf and threw to her, "this is every thing your pack has done in the last couple of months, you are lucky I haven't waged war against you."

Daphne couldn't believe her eyes, her hands trembled as she read each scroll, her eyes were blood shot.

Kaelvryn turned and faced her, gazing deep into her soul, "now go and tell your wonderful father that the next time he tries any stunt like this again, I promise to milk out every blood from each and everyone from your pack."

Daphne gasped, her eyes shaking from fear, "you wouldn't..."

Kaelvryn smirked, "try me..." he pushed the chair and straightened up, "the only reason I haven't done anything yet is because of old time sake, I'm sure your head will look pretty on a silver platter."

Daphne held her chair shaking with fear, she gulped and couldn't even look straight anymore. Kaelvryn went straight to Valen and leaned closer to her ears, "make sure she leaves immediately."

Kaelvryn left closing the door behind him, Valen remained in one spot not moving an inch while Daphne still looked terrified, when she finally got herself, she screamed.

"After everything..." she gritted her teeth harshly, "after everything I had fucking done for him, he dares treats me like a piece of trash."

Daphne dashed a nasty look at Valen, "you..." she walked straight to her and held her by the collar, "go tell your master to come back here, our discussion isn't over yet."

Valen forcefully removed her hands from her collar, "Luna...I presume, my master has finished with you and instructed that you return immediately or face his wrath."

Daphne's eyes were bloodshot from rage, "do you know who you are talking to with that tone?" She screamed.

"No...I don't and my tone is very respectful compared to the way you are talking to me and if you don't mind, I need to escort you back to your carriage."

Daphne laughed hysterically then slapped Valen really hard, she touched her cheek and then smiled, "now that you are satisfied, it's this way."

"You still have the guts to talk to me in that manner," she raised her hand to slap Valen again but she stopped it.

"I let you slap the first time because you needed a release, but the next time you try to raise her a hand at me, I wouldn't care that you're a woman or a prestigious figure."

Valen pressed her hand so hard that Daphne started whimpering, "now I repeat, let's go."

She finally let go of her hand as Daphne made her way, outside King Kaelvryn still stood, his arms crossed.

He walked straight and Daphne started crying thinking he would come to her but Kaelvryn brushed past her and went to Valen.

He placed his hands on her cheek and everyone were too stunned at the sight, "are you okay?" He whispered.

"Kaelvryn..." Daphne yelled.

"Guards, take that wolf out of my sight," King Kaelvryn growled.

The guards dragged Daphne out, "I'll make sure you pay for this," she yelled as they took her out.

King Kaelvryn still stood close to Valen, his fingers brushed against the reddened part and then he pulled out and left immediately.

Valen placed her hand on her chest, she couldn't explain that fluttering feeling that was growing.
