The rain had driven most people underground.
Subways roared beneath Manhattan like metal beasts, carrying thousands of tired commuters home. Platforms were packed. Voices echoed through tiled tunnels. Trains screeched to a halt, doors opened, and crowds poured in and out like waves.
For many people, the subway was the safest place to be during a storm.
They were wrong.
At the Midtown Police Command Center, the manhunt was intensifying.
Maps covered the walls. Officers tracked patrol units across the island while helicopters circled above the city. Reports continued flooding in—witness sightings, false alarms, and panicked phone calls from residents who thought they had seen the masked killer.
Detective Alvarez leaned over a map.
"He's moving south," he said quietly.
Captain Morgan crossed his arms.
"You're guessing."
Alvarez pointed to three locations marked in red.
"Times Square. The shipping yard. Then another sighting near Canal Street."
Morgan studied the map.
"That puts him heading toward Lower Manhattan."
"Exactly."
Morgan sighed.
"Why?"
Alvarez didn't answer immediately.
Instead, he stared at the red markers.
"I don't think he's wandering," he said finally. "I think he's following someone."
Deep underground, a subway train thundered through the tunnels.
Inside one of the cars, passengers sat in damp coats, staring at their phones or the advertisements above the windows.
The news was everywhere.
A masked killer in Manhattan.
Police officers injured.
Footage from Times Square.
Some people joked about it nervously.
Others watched the doors every time the train stopped.
At the far end of the car, Rennie and Tyler sat side by side.
Tyler kept glancing at the other passengers.
"Maybe we lost him," he whispered.
Rennie didn't respond.
Her eyes were fixed on the dark tunnel rushing past the window.
Something felt wrong again.
That same cold feeling in her chest.
The same warning she had felt before every attack at Crystal Lake.
The train slowed.
The loudspeaker crackled.
"Next stop: Fulton Street."
Passengers stood, gathering their bags.
The doors slid open with a metallic hiss.
People stepped on and off.
For a moment, everything looked normal.
Then someone screamed.
At the far end of the platform, a tall figure stepped off the next train.
Rainwater dripped from his coat.
The hockey mask was unmistakable.
Jason Voorhees had entered the subway.
People froze.
Some stared in confusion.
Others immediately recognized him from the news.
And panic exploded.
Passengers shoved each other trying to escape up the stairs.
Someone dropped their briefcase.
A mother grabbed her child and ran.
Jason walked forward slowly.
His boots echoed against the platform tiles.
One subway worker tried to approach him.
"Hey! You can't be down here—"
Jason grabbed the man by the front of his jacket and slammed him against a steel pillar.
The impact echoed through the station.
The worker collapsed.
The screams grew louder.
Inside the subway car, Tyler's face went pale.
"Oh my God…"
Rennie stood up instantly.
"He's here."
Passengers were now rushing back into the train, desperate to get away.
"Close the doors!" someone shouted.
But the conductor couldn't move yet.
Too many people were still pushing through.
Jason stepped onto the platform near the train.
People scattered away from him.
One man tried running past.
Jason grabbed him by the shoulder and shoved him violently into the side of the train car.
The metal wall rattled with the impact.
The man slid to the floor, stunned.
Jason kept walking.
Straight toward Rennie's train.
Inside the car, chaos erupted.
Passengers screamed and tried to push toward the opposite doors.
Tyler grabbed Rennie's arm.
"We have to go!"
They pushed their way through the crowd.
Behind them, the doors were still open.
Jason stepped into the train car.
The entire car fell silent for a split second.
Every passenger stared at him.
Then the screaming returned even louder.
Jason moved down the aisle.
Slow.
Relentless.
A man tried to block him with a suitcase.
Jason shoved it aside and grabbed the man by the collar.
The passengers nearby scrambled away as Jason threw him into the row of seats.
Metal frames bent under the impact.
The train conductor's voice blasted through the speakers.
"ALL PASSENGERS CLEAR THE DOORS!"
The doors finally slid shut.
The train lurched forward.
Jason stood inside the moving subway car.
The nightmare had come underground.
Tyler pulled Rennie toward the next car.
"We can lose him between the trains!"
They forced their way through the connecting door.
Behind them, Jason continued walking down the aisle.
Passengers squeezed themselves against the walls, trying to stay out of his path.
One woman began crying hysterically.
Jason didn't even look at her.
He kept moving forward.
Toward the connecting door.
Toward Rennie.
The train rattled violently through the tunnel.
Lights flickered overhead.
Tyler shoved the door open into the next car.
"Go!"
Rennie stumbled through.
The second car was less crowded, but panic was spreading quickly as people heard the screams from behind.
"What's happening back there?" someone shouted.
Tyler grabbed the emergency handle near the door.
"If we stop the train—"
Rennie shook her head.
"That'll trap everyone!"
The connecting door burst open.
Jason stepped into the second car.
Passengers gasped in terror.
A young man tried to rush past him.
Jason grabbed him and shoved him hard against the metal pole in the center of the aisle.
The pole rattled violently.
The young man collapsed to the floor.
Jason looked up.
Rennie was staring directly at him.
For a moment, everything else disappeared.
The screaming.
The train.
The chaos.
Jason tilted his head slightly.
Like he had finally found what he was looking for.
Tyler grabbed Rennie's hand.
"RUN!"
They pushed toward the front of the train.
People moved out of their way in desperation.
Jason followed.
Each step steady.
Unhurried.
The train finally began slowing as it approached the next station.
The loudspeaker crackled again.
"Next stop: Wall Street."
Tyler pointed toward the doors.
"That's our chance!"
The train screeched to a halt.
Doors opened.
Passengers flooded onto the platform.
Rennie and Tyler ran with them.
Behind them, Jason stepped off the train as well.
The platform erupted in panic.
People sprinted toward the staircases.
Police officers stationed near the entrance turned in shock as the screaming crowd rushed toward them.
One officer shouted,
"What the hell is going on—"
Then he saw the mask.
The officer raised his weapon.
"STOP RIGHT THERE!"
Jason kept walking.
Gunshots echoed through the subway station.
Passengers ducked behind pillars.
The bullets struck Jason.
He staggered slightly.
Then kept coming.
The officer's eyes widened in horror.
"Why won't you—"
Jason swung the machete.
The officer dropped instantly.
His partner grabbed the radio.
"OFFICER DOWN! SUSPECT AT WALL STREET STATION!"
Jason stepped over the fallen officer.
He looked toward the staircase where Rennie and Tyler had escaped.
And began climbing.
The hunt was continuing.
Far above the subway station, rain continued pouring across Manhattan.
Police cars raced through flooded streets.
Helicopters circled the skyline.
News reporters shouted into cameras.
But deep beneath the city, something far worse had just happened.
Jason Voorhees had entered the subway system.
And the entire island was now his hunting ground.
