Chapter 36 - Return

The modulation process for the bio-armor took a few days longer than expected, with most of that time wasted on genetic engineering adjustments.

Emrys' genes were completely different from those of humans and Engineers, which caused Viggs to spend a lot of effort and had to re-adjust his approach based on the current situation.

The Engineer's bio-armor manufacturing process was different from what Emrys had imagined; after Viggs recorded the genetic information and precise programming, he re-injected it into a 'bio-unit' and then cultivated it with nutrient solution.

It must be said... it was truly eye-opening.

Four days later, Viggs finally announced that the bio-device unit, exclusive to Emrys, had been successfully modulated.

Looking at the disc-shaped, entirely black device soaking in the nutrient solution, Emrys was a bit curious: "This is my bio-armor unit?"

"That's right!"

Viggs proudly introduced: "This is the bio-armor unit I modulated for you, it contains multi-environment survival functions, allowing you to survive in extreme environments, and its multi-biological woven structure can maximize resistance to damage."

As he spoke, Viggs took out the 'bio-armor unit' and solemnly handed it to Emrys, not forgetting to instruct: "Once the bio-armor is integrated, it will grow according to different situations, and I cannot predict its final growth state."

An item has been detected: Bio-Armor Unit (Premium - Growable)

A crystalline product combining Engineer technology, possessing the excellent characteristic of automatic growth based on the wearer, environment, etc., and attached with multiple functions, recharged through multiple methods such as light energy, wind energy, tidal energy, and radiant energy.

Energy available: 5000 units.

Wow, good stuff!

Emrys, who hadn't held much hope, was immediately attracted by the powerful attributes of the 'bio-armor', making him even more curious: just how powerful were the Engineers at their peak?

Most importantly... it was growable!

This was what Emrys was most satisfied with, after all, in many situations, the Mark V was already a bit insufficient for his needs.

Perhaps, this is what they call 'new love laughs, old love cries'?

"Can your bio-armor also grow?" Emrys curiously examined Viggs' bio-armor; it looked like it could grow.

"No, the bio-armor on me is V7 level."

Viggs explained the classification of bio-armor to him: "We implant different bio-cores according to different functions, ranging from low to high in ten levels, and your bio-armor core is V10 level, a growable armor that only Elders are qualified to use."

"Then I really have to thank you, Viggs."

Emrys stroked the armor unit, unable to help but laugh: "If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have the good fortune to enjoy such a high-level bio-armor."

"In your words, we are friends, aren't we?" Viggs laughed heartily and said: "Consider it compensation for not being able to keep my promise."

The trip to Paradise Star was very fruitful.

Not only did he gain another spaceship, but also growable bio-armor, and a small amount of data on Engineer genetic modification; Emrys was already very satisfied.

"Yes, we are friends."

Emrys accepted the armor unit, looked towards the starry sky, and slowly said to him: "I have delayed for a long time, it's time for me to leave Paradise Star and attend to my own affairs, Viggs."

Days ago, he had informed Viggs that he would be leaving for a while and hoped to see research results on bionic Aliens upon his return.

"I hope that when I return, I can see you leading your people to restore the glory of the Engineers," he didn't forget to encourage him, after all, only if the Engineers regained their past technology would his investment be worthwhile.

"We will never forget the help you have given us."

Viggs was very grateful, looking sincerely at Emrys: "When you return next time, I will definitely complete the task you entrusted to me, fulfill my promise to you!"

"Good, I look forward to that day."

Emrys smiled and then bid farewell to Viggs.

Then, he piloted the Lord of the world and the abandoned Key of Covenant, heading into the depths of the universe...

"System, is there any way I can take these two things to the Warhammer Universe?" Emrys rubbed his throbbing temples, feeling like he was guarding the door of a treasury but couldn't get in.

Although the private space had been upgraded, it certainly couldn't fit two such large spaceships, so the problem arose... he couldn't just find a place to abandon these two spaceships, could he?

All that hard work, bustling about.

Wasn't it all for these two 'treasures'? But the system was uncooperative, telling him that these two big items couldn't be brought back to the main universe!

"Dear Traveler, your authorization level is insufficient. You can upgrade your authorization level to expand your private space."

"... Is there any other way?"

Emrys was speechless; if his authorization was sufficient, would he need to waste words?

This time, the system fell silent.

Clearly, besides this, there was no other way; he temporarily couldn't bring these two big treasures back.

"Can I directly transfer them to other anchor Universes?" Emrys asked again.

"Yes, but you need to pay the corresponding energy."

"How much do I need to pay?"

Emrys pondered, he could throw these two spaceships into the Marvel universe and entrust them to Thor for safekeeping, which should be relatively secure.

"Activating large-scale anchor universe teleportation requires consuming 30,000 energy units."

30,000... I'll take my leave, goodbye!

Looking at the high fee proposed by the system, Emrys immediately dismissed the idea. It would be better to just leave them in the Alien universe and retrieve them later when his authorization level was sufficient!

However, just returning like this, he was unwilling.

Emrys paced on the Lord of the world, finally his gaze fell on the 'black water' storage room, and he declared fiercely: "I can't come for nothing; even if I can't take the spaceships, I'm taking all of this!"

So, he put hundreds of cans of 'black water' into his private space, plus the fully automatic medical bay, and the weapon arrays dismantled from the 'Key of Covenant', filling his private space, which had just been expanded to fifty cubic meters, to the brim!

Then, following the Engineer's star map instructions, Emrys parked the two massive spaceships in a secluded planetary canyon, finally satisfied: "System, return!"

"Welcome back, Traveler."

"Traveler: Emrys."

"Race: Human."

"Occupation: scavenger."

"Remaining Energy: 0 units."

"Remaining Source Power: 2000 units."

"Main world: Warhammer M41.999."

"Anchor Worlds: Marvel Cinematic universe - 99999, Alien universe."

"World Authorization Level: LV2."

"Time Flow Rate: 1-10."

"Current Status: Searching for the next available Anchor World."
