Chapter 63 - Prophecy

When Emrys slowly regained consciousness, he saw Winnie Winslet, with long golden wavy hair, wearing a black robe with gold trim, and a beautiful face.

"Am I… dead?!"

Emrys was stunned. He feared he might actually be dead, otherwise, why would he be able to see Winnie, who had long since passed away?

"You are not dead."

Winnie shook her head and said calmly, "I rescued you from Khorne's Ladder Fortress. This is the Warp."

Seeing his surroundings clearly, Emrys looked at her in horror and angrily shouted, "Tzeentch, don't even think about deceiving me!"

This must be Tzeentch's dog-like scheme!

"Winnie is dead. Don't think you can trick me with this kind of ploy!" Emrys was highly vigilant, secretly brewing psychic energy, preparing to fight to the death.

"I really am Winnie Winslet…" Winnie was a bit helpless, unsure whether to praise his strong vigilance or slap him to make him sober up.

"How do you prove it?" Emrys still couldn't believe it. After all, in the Warhammer Universe, there were too many evil things, and one wrong move could lead to falling into a trap.

"This… can this prove it?"

Winnie drew the knight's sword from her waist, and a blazing golden fire immediately swept out, incinerating and expelling all the Warp daemons that were coveting them.

The golden fire gave Emrys a warm feeling, as if he had felt it there before. He was stunned for half a second, and a word suddenly popped into his mind. He looked at Winnie in disbelief: "You… you've become a Living Saint?!"

"Hmm…"

Winnie nodded slightly, answering his question.

Holy crap, she really became a Living Saint!

Emrys was immediately so excited he almost lost control of himself.

"Cough cough, you haven't forgotten our agreement, have you?"

Adhering to the principle of 'don't forget old friends when you get rich,' Emrys eagerly approached her, ignoring Winnie's somewhat annoyed expression, and thick-skinnedly said, "We've been through thick and thin together. Now that you've made it big, you can't forget your brother!"

Winnie was thoroughly annoyed by his thick skin. She stared at him coldly: "So what do you want?"

"Hehe~"

Emrys rubbed his hands excitedly, unknowingly looking very much like a fly, and continued shamelessly, "My demands aren't high. Look, you're a 'Living Saint' now. How about coming back with me? There's a Hell Dragon over there, and you could just casually chop it down for me, how about that?"

If he could bring a Living Saint back, it would scare the mastermind to death. Just thinking about it felt great!

What Hell Dragon?

One sword would slice it to pieces, vertically splitting it in half!

But unfortunately, Emrys' dream was decisively rejected by Winnie: "No, I am the Emperor's envoy and will only carry out the Emperor's commands. The cult on Roselle… is your problem to consider, not mine."

"No, you're already here, it's just a casual thing. We have this kind of relationship, can't you just help me out?" Emrys grew anxious. He had finally caught someone important, and he really wasn't willing to let her go without getting something out of her!

How could the Emperor not know about the situation on Roselle?

The enemies in this wretched place could almost form a mahjong table, and there was an unknown Necron Dynasty beneath. Wasn't it unreasonable not to send a Living Saint to help?

"I need to reiterate."

Winnie's tone seemed a bit helpless, and she glanced at him with her beautiful eyes: "We have no relationship. The agreement I made with you was when I was alive. The me now… is merely an agent of the Emperor's divine power, do you understand?"

Emrys looked at Winnie, taking in her helpless expression, and connecting it to what she had just said, his brows furrowed tightly: "The Skele… cough cough, you mean, God-Emperor won't let you help us?!"

That one sentence almost made Winnie laugh in anger. She said testily, "Do you think you're very important? The reason I appeared here was simply for the Emperor to thwart Khorne's scheme, not to save you!"

Emrys smiled sheepishly. He had thought that God-Emperor had specifically sent a Living Saint to Khorne's lair to rescue him. Now it seemed he had indeed overthought it.

Seeing his apparent disappointment, Winnie hesitated, a look of conflict in her beautiful eyes. After a moment of indecision, she said, "You… In any case, the problem on Roselle is something you need to solve yourself. I can only remind you… be careful of the mastermind. His objective is not that simple."

"Regardless… I still have to thank you."

Emrys quickly returned to normal, looking at her sincerely: "Both times, you saved me. Thank you very much."

"Live well, Emrys." Since becoming a Living Saint, Winnie seemed to be able to see fragments of the future. Her eyes reflected the young man's face, and she said worriedly, "You must live well, do you understand?"

In fact, she hadn't told Emrys the truth.

Breaking into Khorne's lair this time, saying it was to thwart a scheme, wasn't wrong. But the crucial core… lay with Emrys!

In her… no, rather, in the future the Emperor had seen, there were three timelines. In one of those timelines, the outcome was that when Emrys was about to be beheaded by the Great Daemon Skar'ege, due to intense unwillingness and rage, he was ultimately influenced by Khorne's power and fell!

Thus… he directly ascended to become a 'Daemon Prince'!

To prevent this future, Winnie was awakened by the God-Emperor on the eve of her death and given a new mission.

Of course, none of this could be told to Emrys.

"I will… you too." Although Winnie's gaze seemed a bit strange, Emrys merely took it as a reunion after a long separation and grinned, "Since you can't help, when are you going to go on a date with me?"

Upon hearing this, Winnie's goodwill from the previous second instantly dropped to zero.

Her eyes held a murderous intent, like an unthawing, millennia-old ice, staring directly at Emrys, making him shiver and grind his teeth: "I was joking, I was just joking!"

"You should go back."

Winnie sneered, deciding to teach this bastard a lesson.

Slap!

A resounding psychic slap.

With lightning speed, it directly slapped Emrys back into the physical universe.

However, when he opened his eyes, he saw Terminator armor and was immediately stunned: "How long have I been asleep? How did Terminators appear?"

The Astartes operating the Terminator power armor was gripping a Khorne daemon, pinning it between his legs and repeatedly punching its ugly face.

The power fist smashed, causing blood to spurt wildly, accompanied by the Terminator's wild laughter—this scene looked absolutely fantastic.

Yes, hit it like that, give it hell!

Emrys, who had just endured ample resentment at Khorne's place, watched with immense satisfaction.

Before long, the Khorne daemon was meticulously hammered by the Terminator into a chewy, resilient meat paste, so springy that it could probably be used as a basketball if boiled.

Shifting his gaze, it was the Astartes of the Watchers Chapter, enacting a one-sided slaughter!

Next, the enormous Warp rift torn open by dozens of out-of-control psykers actually merged with the Warp rift in the upper hive, expanding into a black scar across the sky, hundreds of meters in diameter, like a gaping wound in the firmament, from which flowed an incessant torrent of raging malice from the highest heavens!

The daemon army, composed of Pink Horrors, Screamers, and Tzeentch Flamers, swarmed into the real universe from that 'scar' like a dense tide.

The ground-based daemons, on the other hand, were mostly made up of Khorne cultists, Bloodletters, Flesh Hounds, and Bloodcrushers, forming a bloody ocean that covered two-thirds of the mid-hive, like mountains and seas!

It was clear that even though each Astartes could fight a hundred, they couldn't withstand the sheer numbers. Even many ants can kill an elephant, let alone those were not ants!

"You're awake, kid?"

Jackal wiped the sweat from his head, spit out a mouthful of blood, turned to look at him, and started laughing with a wide grin: "Two pieces of news. Good news: you can stay and fight alongside us. Bad news: the Warp rift has opened, and the upcoming battle will be very exciting!"

Emrys' face was utterly black.

Aren't those both bad news?!
