Chapter 78 - Valentine

How to evaluate Raccoon City?

It could truly be said that the environment was beautiful, and it was a place of outstanding people.

The folks living here were all very hospitable; if you met a stranger on the street, they'd practically pour their heart out to you.

"No wonder such a big commotion broke out; it turns out to be a Resident Evil situation."

From the female reporter's words, Emrys learned important clues, and combining them with the current situation, he could roughly guess the timeline.

It should be the early stages when the T-virus had just leaked from the Hive, and Raccoon City was not completely sealed off, but he didn't know whether this world was following the game's plot or the movie's plot.

Of course, the final outcome wasn't much different; both ended with it being leveled by a nuclear bomb.

"Fortunately, before this travel, I prepared a Valkyrie."

Emrys once again thanked his prudence; with the Valkyrie gunship, he would have more ample time.

"It's time to go, Uther." Turning to glance at the female reporter, he called Uther and, following the fleeing crowd, directly left the chaotic combat zone.

Since he already knew the clues, there was no need for him to stay here.

"What a pity, a perfectly good city is about to become a living hell," Emrys looked at the scattered crowd, but his heart showed no ripple of emotion.

If the travel point in time had been a bit earlier, he might have been able to save Raccoon City.

But it just so happened that the T-virus had already leaked for at least a week; at most, he could stop the miniature nuclear bomb. As for saving everyone in the entire city, that was completely wishful thinking.

"Uther, go get a car," Emrys dismissed the distracting thoughts in his mind and commanded.

Uther's method could be described as simple and crude.

He found a car parked by the road, punched and shattered the window, then pulled open the door, got in, fiddled with something, and his big head poked out of the car window, saying in a muffled voice, "Alright, sir."

Okay, that's very U.S.

Emrys sat in the back seat, not because he didn't want to sit in the passenger seat, but mainly because it was too crowded.

Uther alone almost filled the front row; if this car hadn't been a bit larger, an ordinary sedan probably couldn't have fit him.

"Sir where do you want to go?"

Uther inquired.

"Anywhere, find a quiet place," Emrys, sitting in the back, said casually, as he was thinking about his next plan.

It's well known that the most cost-effective things in Resident Evil are the T-virus and the G-virus, and Raccoon City just happens to satisfy both points.

But this time, Emrys' ambition was not limited to just these two viruses.

The Vendetta-type Valkyrie gunship he specifically had Rosales modify was not meant to be left in his personal space as a decoration.

It's no exaggeration to say that a single Valkyrie gunship is enough to sweep through the current Resident Evil world!

The fastest cruise missiles and even satellite radars of all countries in the world would not be able to detect the Valkyrie gunship. Don't let its appearance, which resembles a world War II product, fool you; it is a genuine 40K advanced technology!

To describe the 'Valkyrie gunship' as a 'dimensionality reduction strike' is no exaggeration at all.

In the Resident Evil world, the only thing that could threaten Emrys was the miniature nuclear bomb.

But the problem is, Emrys would have already flown away in the Valkyrie before that thing even flew over and was detonated.

As for the remaining T-virus products, such as the threat of zombie hordes, he could only say that those protein-based organisms were merely a plate of food in the face of absolute overwhelming Firepower.

No matter how many zombies there are, their threat level is far less than that of the Khorne warband in the Hive, at least they genuinely have blessings.

"Sure enough, the most important thing right now is to figure out the time."

Emrys had just arrived and didn't have a mobile phone or anything like that, so he turned and saw a shop: "Stop, Uther."

The uniquely refreshing riot looters, carrying a baseball bat, smashed the shop window, howling like an uncivilized savage, as if he had discovered a new continent, and rushed inside.

"Uther, deal with those people, just leave them alive."

Emrys frowned slightly, a sense of disgust rising within him, and he commanded coldly.

Having received the order, Uther strode like a heavy tank, directly charging into the shop.

Soon, a few screams came from inside, and the battle ended with unusual speed.

Since having the android man, it must be said that it saved him a lot of unnecessary physical exertion. Emrys stepped over the broken glass and entered the shop.

The shopkeeper happened to be a few Asians, huddled in a corner, staring in terror at Uther, who was two and a half meters tall and resembled an iron tower.

And those black robbers had their five limbs broken by Uther, and to avoid their screams affecting his mood, their jaws were specifically dislocated, leaving them slumped like mud amidst the broken glass on the floor.

"Throw them out."

Emrys said indifferently.

"Yes, sir." Uther picked up the men from the ground, like picking up little chicks, and threw them out one by one.

Looking at the terrified family of four inside the shop, Emrys put on a gentle smile: "Hello, I have no ill intentions, I just want to borrow your phone to check the time, may I?"

The older shopkeeper, holding his wife and daughter, tremblingly pulled out his phone from his pants pocket and handed it over: "Please, I can give you anything, just don't hurt my family."

Did he look that scary?

Emrys was a bit depressed, but after taking the phone, he defended himself: "Sir I am not a bad person, nor will I rob you. I just purely want to check the time."

He didn't know if the shopkeeper believed him or not, but he certainly believed himself.

He lit up the screen, and the time displayed on the phone was: September 28, 1998, 8:00 PM.

"Thank you." Comforting the frightened shopkeeper, Emrys casually pulled out a laser gun from his personal space and handed it over: "As a thank you, this gun is for you, consider it a gift. When the energy is low, remember to disassemble the energy block and roast it in a fire; it will have a miraculous effect."

The terrified shopkeeper was still a bit stunned, looking at the ancient product that seemed to be from world War II, and hesitated: "Uh... I have better weapons here."

"Trust me, this thing will come in handy."

Emrys ignored the shopkeeper's refusal, forcefully shoved the weapon over, then raised his hand to gently ruffle the hair of the curious little girl next to him, and whispered: "Next, absolutely do not leave the shop. If you encounter anyone acting suspiciously, do not hesitate, shoot immediately. This is my advice to you."

The shopkeeper looked at the other party's caucasian face, gritted his teeth, and nodded: "Okay, I'll listen to you!"

After watching Emrys and Uther leave, he began to tidy up the shop's items, blocking the entrance as much as possible.

"Husband, do you really believe what he said?" The woman next to him was a bit skeptical.

"You silly woman, what do you know?" The shopkeeper turned and scolded: "Whether it's true or false, given how chaotic it is outside right now, it's always right for us to take precautions!"

Emrys, who had left the shop, looked at Raccoon City, which seemed to be completely plunged into chaos, and suddenly felt a trace of confusion.

What was he supposed to do now?

Logically, he should go find the protagonist team, but in such a large city, where would he find them?

The entire street was filled with panicked, fleeing crowds, buildings in the distance were exploding, and helicopters flew overhead.

In less than half an hour, the order of the entire city seemed to have completely fallen into chaos!

No sooner said than done!

Suddenly, a helicopter swept overhead, its rotor making a huge noise.

Emrys' gaze was immediately drawn to it; a two-meter-high, one-meter-wide iron box was suspended beneath the helicopter, and then four steel cables broke one by one.

Boom!

The heavy iron box fell from the sky, directly smashing onto the street.

The car Uther had just stolen was instantly flattened into an iron pancake, signaling that the two had lost their means of transportation.

Immediately after, the hard, heavy iron box was violently torn open from the inside, and a humanoid creature, wrapped entirely in black cloth, similar in height to Uther, emerged from the iron box.

God Damn!

A brand new 'Tyrant' that hadn't even been unboxed!

Looking at the 'creature' that had just emerged from the iron box, a glint appeared in Emrys' eyes.

What a coincidence, isn't it?

He was just wondering where to find the protagonist group, and they delivered themselves to him!

The Tyrant, also known as Nemesis, is a highly intelligent bio-organic weapon developed by the Umbrella Corporation by implanting a Parasite into a Tyrant that was already infected with the T-virus!

The key is 'bio-organic weapon'!

Since it's a biological entity, that means there's a chance it could be parasited by an alien embryo!

Looking at the freshly arrived Tyrant, Emrys' lips curled into a slight smile: "It's time to give the Umbrella Corporation a little 'shock'."

The Nemesis was deployed in Raccoon City, naturally inseparable from the Umbrella Corporation.

As for the purpose, on the one hand, it was to test the strength of the 'Nemesis', and on the other hand, it was to hunt down the members of STARS.

"So you're here to hunt down Jill?"

Suddenly, Emrys' gaze turned to the apartment building next door.

Although he had played the Resident Evil game a long time ago, the incident of Jill being hunted down was still fresh in his memory.

Don't ask, just ask because of Jill.

Who wouldn't like a heroic and beautiful girl?

Of course, there was also the ageless goddess of the Resident Evil series, Ada Wong, hailed as the dream lover of countless otaku.

Uther, who was beside him, seemed to have guessed his thoughts and asked, "Sir do you need me to stop that creature?"

"How confident are you that you can win?" Emrys asked casually, but he stood on the street, watching the Nemesis that had just emerged from its 'packaging box'.

Obviously, the Nemesis' mission did not include these two, so it strode off towards that apartment.

He guessed correctly.

The target of the Nemesis, or rather the Umbrella Corporation, was Jill Valentine, a member of STARS.

Given the exposure of the Mansion incident, the Umbrella Corporation planned to silence everyone and completely destroy the evidence, so they took this opportunity to dispatch the newly developed Nemesis.

After observing for a few seconds, Uther said with certainty, "I won't lose, sir. Peter implanted a large amount of special steel in my skeleton when designing me, and a nano bulletproof layer under my skin. I also have a biological core from Engineer Viggs. Dealing with such an enemy is very simple."

Emrys was not surprised by Uther's answer.

He was a product of future technology, and he integrated the Engineer's biological core technology. The only thing he had in common with humans was probably his appearance.

If you had to say, Uther was basically equivalent to the T800 in Terminator.

"Do you need me to deal with it now?"

Uther rubbed his fists together, his eyes gleaming fiercely, obviously still holding a grudge about the Nemesis smashing his car earlier.

It was quite difficult for someone of his size to find such a car!

As a result, it was smashed into a metal pancake after only one drive. Don't think that androids don't get angry!

"Wait a little longer, it's not time yet." Emrys looked at the apartment and chuckled meaningfully, "Adding icing to the cake is far less effective than offering timely help in a crisis."

In the blink of an eye, the Nemesis had already broken into the apartment.

A violent explosion shattered the glass, and a heatwave, carrying fire, gushed out of the windows.

"It's started."

Emrys, with the intention of observing, pulled out a servo-skull from his personal space.

"Go, investigate inside, and if necessary, remember to protect the human female being hunted."

The servo-skull, with only a head, floated like a ghost across the street.

Then, it flew into the apartment floors through the gap created by the Nemesis' impact, and transmitted the footage directly to Emrys via remote connection.

Soon he saw the goddess from the game, Jill Valentine.

But she looked a bit dishevelled. The Nemesis charged, smashing through the hard, thick brick wall, then grabbed Jill's head with its bare hands and violently threw her away.

Jill hit the wall, grunting in pain, but out of excellent combat training, she immediately rolled to the side.

Immediately after, the Nemesis' 'War Stomp' landed, shaking the entire floor!

"F*ck!" Jill cursed, enduring the pain in her body, and turned into the next room, trying to escape the Nemesis.

But, could she really escape?

The Nemesis took a shortcut, smashing through three walls consecutively, and blocked Jill's path.

The load-bearing walls made of reinforced concrete could not withstand its single impact, and the shattered bricks and stones, carried by the violent force, shot in all directions like bullets.

Jill curled up as much as possible to avoid greater injury.

But the gravel grazed her skin, and the sharp edges directly cut open inch-long bloody gashes. Her already thin sleeveless gray top was torn in many places, revealing her fair and delicate skin.

Just as the Nemesis was about to smash Jill's head with its iron-fist-sized punch!

Suddenly, a servo-skull emerged from a hidden corner.

To some extent, the terror of the servo-skull completely surpassed that of zombies and the so-called Nemesis.

At least, for a brief moment, even the Nemesis was stunned.

Jill's eyes widened, her pupils slowly contracting, as she looked at the 'human head' that suddenly floated over from the side, her heart pounding uncontrollably.

The Umbrella Corporation, hiding behind the Nemesis and monitoring everything, was also stunned for more than ten seconds by the sudden appearance of that 'human head'.

"What is this thing?!"

Looking at the servo-skull, which clearly had a mechanical modification style, emphasizing its eerie and terrifying nature, the Umbrella Corporation's monitors were all dumbfounded.

Is this thing also sent by the company?

But that's impossible, didn't the higher-ups only send the 'Nemesis'?

Moreover, judging from its style, this thing doesn't look like a product that their own Umbrella Corporation could manufacture.

In the interval when both sides were stunned, the servo-skull emitted a high-frequency vibrating sound wave!

The blessing from Omnissiah, the Beta sub-wave generator emitted through dual speakers, directly stimulated the Nemesis' control center.

"Roar——!!!!"

Under the stimulation of that eerie sound wave, the Nemesis clutched its head and let out a deafening roar.

"Ms. Jill Valentine, I suggest you take this opportunity to escape immediately." The servo-skull turned its 'head', its two implanted scanner eyeballs staring coldly at Jill, who was wide-mouthed and shocked, and emitted a mechanical voice: "Please follow me, Ms. Valentine."

With that, the servo-skull floated towards a corridor.

Still somewhat shocked, Jill no longer cared if it was dangerous or not, and immediately followed the eerie head.

"Quick, make the Nemesis chase after them!"

The researcher monitoring the Nemesis immediately issued an order.

Fortunately, after the eerie, psalm-like sound wave disappeared, the Nemesis regained control and angrily pursued Jill in the direction she had fled.

Listening to the continuous crashing sounds from behind, Jill was terrified and asked the mechanical head in front of her with some unease, "Where exactly are we going?"

However, the servo-skull did not answer her question, only occasionally turning a corner and then continuing to float forward.

Just as the Nemesis was getting closer and closer from behind, and Jill could no longer hold back, the servo-skull in front stopped.

"Why aren't we moving?!" Jill's heart was pounding extremely fast, her eyes bloodshot, as she looked in horror at the stopped servo-skull.

But, the next second, the Nemesis, which had smashed through the wall, made Jill's heart sink to rock bottom.

It's over—that was her first thought.

But in an instant, just as the Nemesis was about to crush them, a fist, like a cannonball, suddenly punched through the wall from the next room and slammed into the Nemesis' face.

Bang!!!!

The immense force directly sent the Nemesis flying, causing it to crash through a wall.

In Jill's shocked gaze, Uther, like an iron tower, stepped over the brick and stone ruins, his bulging muscles resembling the Ancient Greek hero Heracles.

Uther extended a finger and beckoned to the Nemesis.

The meaning contained within was self-evident!

Is he crazy?!

Looking at Uther, who was actually provoking the Nemesis, Jill felt like she was about to collapse!

What on earth is happening today?

First, the city was in ran. She had just woken up from bed, hadn't even had time to wash her face, and was being chased by a monster.

Then she encountered a flying skull, which was already strange enough, but then another person appeared, punching the Nemesis away and even provoking that monster!

Jill suddenly felt that if she wasn't crazy, then this world was crazy.

But soon, Uther proved to her with his actions who was truly stronger!

The Nemesis pushed away the huge rock pressing on him, slowly rose from the rubble, and silently stared at Uther, whose height was similar to his.

He had not received orders to deal with the opponent, so he was waiting for Umbrella's next command.

"Heh, interesting."

The Umbrella administrator, seeing this scene in the monitoring equipment, sneered: "Do you really think a mere human can defeat our greatest masterpiece?"

"What should we do?" the operator next to him asked.

"Does that even need asking? Of course, we'll give him a taste of his own medicine." The administrator watched Uther, who was provocatively beckoning in the monitoring equipment, with a playful look: "I'm also curious about what kind of person can punch the Nemesis away."

He wasn't worried at all that the Nemesis would lose to the opponent.

The Tyrant, implanted with a parasite, surpassed humans in all aspects. Even if the opponent could temporarily win one or two moves, it couldn't change the final outcome.

Humans could never defeat the Nemesis.

Unless the opponent was Superman.

"Change target."

The operator entered the kill command.

The next moment, the silent Nemesis seemed to be activated, exuding a heart-palpitating aura.

Just from the feedback of her intuition, Jill knew that guy was getting serious!

Sure enough, the Nemesis stepped forward like a large bulldozer, directly smashing through the rubble along the way, and fiercely charged at the provoking Uther.

"Too foolish, to come from the front?"

Uther frowned slightly, and his evaluation of the Nemesis dropped a few points in his heart.

Then, he suddenly turned around, using the force of the Nemesis' charge, grappled the latter's arm, and with an almost perfect leverage, slammed him to the ground with a back throw!

When Peter created him, he specifically input a large number of combat techniques, so dealing with this kind of Nemesis, who only knew brute force, was naturally easy.

Boom!

Under the violent tremor, the Nemesis was slammed hard onto the ground.

Intersecting, hideous cracks climbed up the walls along the ground, many pieces of plaster were shaken off, and the lights hanging in the corridor swayed incessantly.

Uther was never good at talking nonsense. After the leveraged back throw, he grabbed the Nemesis' arm, turned around, and forcefully twisted it in the opposite direction.

Crack!

The Nemesis' arm was directly twisted off.

However, Uther's performance was still not over. He stepped on the Nemesis' head, grabbed the twisted-off arm, and pulled hard!

Rip—!

Foul-smelling blood gushed out, and the entire arm, along with the tendons, was 'savagely' torn off by Uther.

"My God!" Jill, who was originally worried about the opponent, seeing this scene, suddenly didn't know who to worry about anymore.

The Nemesis let out an angry roar, but then took another heavy punch to the face.

Bang!

His entire head was almost embedded in the concrete.

Uther stood up nonchalantly, then raised his steel-toed leather boot and stomped heavily on the Nemesis' head.

If it weren't for his reinforced body, a regular Tyrant would probably have had its head crushed by this kick.

The Nemesis' body twitched a few times, and then stopped moving.

"De… dealt with?" Jill was dumbfounded. The monster that had been chasing her all over the place was dealt with so easily?

Uther turned around, his gaze falling on Jill.

He was about to speak, but his chest was suddenly pierced by a tentacle. His pupils sharply contracted, seemingly somewhat shocked.

"No—!"

Jill was horrified beyond belief. She hadn't expected that the 'monster' that seemed dead was actually to live!

Yes, the Nemesis stood up again. Although his head was a bit flattened from the beating, he was still to live, and a tentacle extending from his arm pierced through Uther's chest.

"Roar!!!"

The Nemesis seemed to be proving himself, growing disgusting tentacles from both arms.

However, he seemed to be happy a bit too early.

Uther, whose chest had been pierced, had no blood flowing out at all, only viscous, transparent liquid.

But this angered Uther. His large, fan-like palm tightly gripped the tentacle, and he turned around with a powerful, heavy knee strike.

The roar suddenly stopped. The Nemesis was hit in the face by the iron knee, and black blood gushed from his black-cloth-wrapped head.

Uther grabbed his tentacle and, with both hands, pulled hard!

The tentacle was forcibly torn off. An enraged Uther stepped forward, his iron fist like a heavy cannon firing, accompanied by a piercing sonic boom.

Boom!

The force of this punch contained a full ten-tenths of power.

It directly punched through the Nemesis' chest, and disgusting internal organs along with viscous black blood spurted out from the fist-sized hole.

Uther grabbed the Nemesis' head and slammed him hard against the wall.

Rumble.

The wall collapsed, and the Nemesis was completely powerless to resist.

Uther raised his leg, his thigh muscles bulging. Using his left foot as an axis, he delivered a powerful shot, kicking the Nemesis in the waist.

The huge Nemesis was actually kicked flying, rolling over ten meters like a ball.

"Is this guy really human?"

Jill was once again shocked. His chest was pierced, yet he was completely unharmed!

But just as Uther was about to press his advantage and completely kill the Nemesis, something happened that made everyone present drop their jaws.

The Nemesis ran!

Yes, he fled the apartment without hesitation, as if being chased by a ghost, at an extremely fast speed.

Jill watched the fleeing 'monster', then silently shifted her gaze to Uther, noticing the wound torn open on his chest, which contained circuits and viscous fluid, and she was immediately horrified: "You... you're not human?!"

Uther turned around and stared at her coldly: "Miss Valentine, mister Emrys wants to see you."

"Emrys. Who is it?"

Jill hesitated a bit; the series of events just now made her not want to go.

But unfortunately, she had no option to refuse. Uther stood before her like a mountain, his shadow blending with his imposing aura: "You shall see, miss Valentine."

After realizing the reality, Jill simply gave up: "Okay, I'll go with you."

In front of the monitoring equipment, the administrator wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, his heart almost leaping out of his throat.

If Umbrella Corporation's important 'asset' had been hammered to death like that, he would probably be thrown into Raccoon City to become a zombie by his superiors immediately!

"Go and investigate for me! I want to know what that thing is!"

The administrator's eyes were bloodshot, his face distorted, staring at 'Uther's' face, he roared hysterically: "How could anyone create a product more excellent than the Nemesis?!"

Tonight was a sleepless night for Umbrella Corporation.

Their confident biological weapon, the Nemesis, deployed in Raccoon City for testing, was almost beaten to death right after its debut!

This was too much of a blow to their self-confidence.

Especially Uther; they saw in him a kind of beauty that belonged only to 'strength'.

Not only did he possess extremely high intelligence, but he also showed no signs of mutation and even had learning ability. In every aspect, the Nemesis seemed inferior to him!

They had agreed to collect combat data.

Now this, almost getting killed. How were they supposed to report this data?

The administrator looked distraught, feeling his future was bleak.
