Chapter 96 - No evidence is needed

The next day.

As Lucianne said, it was a beautiful day.

The curse scar of the Great Rift had uncharacteristically dimmed considerably, allowing warm sunlight to fall upon Hyperia.

However, after yesterday's assassination of two prominent figures—the Merlin heir and the planetary governor—by the Drukhari, the nobles of the upper hive were somewhat uneasy.

Because even now, it was unclear whether the Merlin heir was dead or alive; all they knew was that yesterday the planetary governor had visited the Merlin mansion, emerged with a grim expression, and then immediately sent an invitation to all nobles, large and small, within the upper hive.

Ostensibly, it was an accountability inquiry from Merlin, requiring governor Lucianne of Vigilus, and all the nobles, to provide a reasonable explanation.

Although they knew there was something wrong with this invitation, at this critical juncture, who dared to refuse?

You don't go?

Very good, then you must be feeling guilty!

Don't talk about evidence; Rogue Traders never need evidence, and they are often formidable in combat. Everyone is a noble; who doesn't know your little schemes?

In principle, evidence is required, but the problem is that now the principle is in the hands of 'Merlin'.

The Excalibur Conqueror-class cruiser had arrived in the Hyperia Section's orbit yesterday, and even the Imperial Navy fleet dared not make a sound, fearing being implicated.

If they couldn't produce a result, perhaps his macro-cannons… might have a little 'problem'.

Rely on the Ecclesiarchy and Mechanicus?

Even less likely; one is busy developing followers, and the other is busy mining. As long as Emrys doesn't provoke them, they won't bother to interfere.

No noble wanted a macro-cannon crashing down on their own heads. Moreover, the planetary governor's command, at least on the surface, had to be obeyed, so they all headed to the Agamemnus family.

Of course, on the way, many nobles had secretly discussed taking advantage of Merlin' inquiry to shift all blame onto Agamemnus, making them take the fall!

"Silence!"

Suddenly, Lucianne spoke.

In the turbulent hall, numerous nobles turned their gazes towards the current Countess of Agamemnus, and the nominal ruler of Vigilus, the governor: Her Excellency Lucianne Agamemnus.

Looking at the complex gazes of the nobles—some disdainful, some mocking, some puzzled—Lucianne's mood was calm, without a ripple: "I presume you are all well aware of what happened yesterday, are you not?"

"Your Excellency governor, this matter has nothing to do with us." One of the elders chuckled sinisterly: "As for accountability… for such a major problem to occur in the territory under your rule, this is a serious dereliction of duty."

Lucianne glanced at the man, confirming… he was on the list of those secretly infected by genestealer. She sneered inwardly, but her expression remained calm.

She was observing; this was what Emrys had taught her.

To see clearly who was valuable, who could be used, who was deliberately sowing discord, who was foolish, and who was siding with Agamemnus.

Sure enough, just as 'His Excellency Emrys' had predicted, under the instigation of the Gene Stealer-infected noble, many quickly emerged, accusing Lucianne and Agamemnus of dereliction of duty, forming a united condemnation, with a strong implication of coercion.

But several old-guard nobles still seemed to be waiting, observing her reaction.

Those who agreed had already been noted in her mind.

In Lucianne's heart, these people had to be purged, while those who remained silent could be won over.

"Indeed, I admit… my dereliction of duty as planetary governor has failed His Majesty and the Imperium's expectations."

Lucianne looked at the nobles in the hall, who were usually as annoying as flies, always obstructing her. She was unexpectedly calm, seeming to show no anger at all.

She gently tapped the armrest, her voice steady and indifferent as she spoke: "But what pains me more is that there are traitors among us. I have investigated yesterday's assassination thoroughly; it was some of you who secretly contacted the Drukhari. This is an act of heresy that the Imperium cannot tolerate!"

Her words struck like thunder!

In an instant, the nobles who had been accusing Agamemnus just a second ago, almost in a frenzy, suddenly calmed down, looking at the governor in disbelief.

Only at this moment did the many pampered upper hive nobles, usually as greedy as pigs, suddenly realize that today's banquet… seemed not so simple!

Something was wrong!

One hundred percent wrong!

They knew Agamemnus too well; it was precisely because she valued face and noble honor so much that she was ostracized by the Ecclesiarchy and Mechanicus, and her power was gradually eroded and taken away.

But now, it seemed different.

"Your Excellency, what… what do you mean by this?"

Several of the nobles who had been the loudest and most boisterous earlier were now sweating profusely.

Damn it, this woman is crazy!

As soon as Lucianne finished speaking, hundreds of noble lords from various great families with Imperial titles immediately broke out in cold sweat!

Everyone realized it now.

Lucianne gathered so many people, ostensibly under the name of the Emrys Dynasty, but actually to make a move against them!

She actually intended to use this opportunity to seize back Agamemnus' power? Was she not afraid of the combined pressure from Mechanicus and the Ecclesiarchy afterwards?!

"Lucianne, how dare you!"

Kurs, infected by the genestealer, immediately broke into a cold sweat. His hands were truly dirty, so he immediately jumped out, attempting to suppress the governor with 'rules'.

"Gentlemen, she clearly wants to pin the blame for the assassination of Emrys on us!" He shouted excitedly, immediately garnering approval from many nobles, who glared at the governor: "Lucianne, though you are the planetary governor, Vigilus cannot allow you to do as you please!"

"Exactly, Your Excellency Lucianne, you cannot expect to shift the blame onto us. You say there are heretics among us; where is your evidence?"

"That's right, if you can't produce evidence, we will unite today and demand an explanation from Agamemnus!"

Even the silent old-guard nobles could no longer sit still at this moment. If they allowed Lucianne to twist black and white, they would likely suffer as well.

"Lucianne, you say there are heretics among us; you must produce evidence, right?" The representative of the old-guard nobles, an old man with a grizzled beard, his voice overriding the others, looked at the governor with a slightly coercive gaze: "The assassination of the Merlin heir this time is indeed your dereliction of duty. In my opinion… only if you bear this responsibility can the safety of Vigilus be guaranteed!"

In a few words, he forced Lucianne and the Agamemnus family to bear responsibility for the assassination.

As old-guard nobles, they naturally had confidence.

But unfortunately, this time… they had willingly walked into a trap. Lucianne was just wondering how to teach these old fogies a lesson, and they walked right into it!

His Excellency Emrys' 'Feast at Hong Gate' was truly effective!

"Evidence?"

Lucianne sat in her chair, the faces of those people reflected in her eyes. She was not flustered in the slightest, even somewhat amused, and said coldly, "Alright, you want evidence? I'll give you evidence!"

As her words fell, fully armed Astra Militarum soldiers crashed through the banquet hall doors and streamed in.

This scene instantly pushed the situation into an even more tense atmosphere. All the nobles were stunned; they had never expected Lucianne to not follow the usual script!

Everyone is a noble; why aren't you playing by the rules?!

"Lucianne, what are you doing?!" Kurs, who had been instigating, was horrified. They hadn't expected Lucianne to have an army in ambush!

"Strip him."

Lucianne pointed, her eyes filled with killing intent: "Show them… the evidence!"

"No, you can't do this to me!"

Kurs was clearly panicked. Others might be foolish, but he was truly a 'heretic'. If he were stripped, his Gene Stealer-infected skin would be instantly exposed. At that point, even with ten thousand mouths, he couldn't clear his name!

"Lucianne, what do you intend to do?!"

The old-guard nobles were horrified and furious, glaring at her: "Without an Imperial order, you are unilaterally executing a noble. This is a serious crime; consider the consequences!"

"Consequences?"

Lucianne sneered, glaring at the Astra Militarum: "What are you waiting for? Strip him and show the loyal subjects of the Imperium the evidence!"

"No, don't come near me!"

Kurs was truly desperate. He looked at the other nobles, hoping they would unite to pressure the governor.

But, just as a few nobles were about to speak, they were hit in the head with a rifle butt. The old-guard noble who had been so imposing earlier was kicked by a Astra Militarum soldier and lay on the ground twitching.

Facts proved that no matter how eloquent a noble's mouth was, it couldn't be harder than a rifle butt. A few rifle butts later, the nobles could only whimper and feign death on the ground.

What noble camaraderie?

It was all nonsense; three rifle butts would shatter your camaraderie!

Under the violent suppression of the Astra Militarum, Kurs was dragged screaming into the hall, then humiliatingly stripped layer by layer. Midway, because he resisted a few times, he suffered a resentful beating and kicking from the Astra Militarum. A rifle butt swung in a full arc smashed into his face, immediately spewing snot and blood, utterly miserable.

"Lucianne, let's see how you resolve this!" The beaten old-guard noble roared in anger: "I will report to the Imperium! To the High Lord, you… you… you…"

After three "you's", he couldn't speak another word.

Because Kurs, stripped of his clothes, revealed his carefully hidden purple skin and the third tentacle under his armpit, immediately silencing the old-guard noble.

"Do you see clearly? You all claim loyalty to the Imperium, but how do I feel… that it's not quite so?" Lucianne rested a hand on her cheek, watching with a sneer the dumbfounded nobles below, as if their throats were choked: "You see, the power of the alien has infiltrated us. Vigilus is already rotten…"

She then turned her gaze to the old-guard noble from earlier, scoffing: "Evidence, you've seen it. Do you have anything else to say?"

The clearly infected and mutated noble was like a bombshell exploding in the hearts of the remaining nobles, shocking everyone into silence.

"I… I…"

The old-guard noble immediately broke out in a cold sweat, his forehead dripping. He hadn't expected… there really was a damn heretic!

"uncle Mars, I remember… you just wanted to report to the Imperium?" Lucianne's lips curved into a sarcastic smile, and she said lightly: "You defended a heretic… how should this matter be explained?"

"No, you misunderstood, Your Esteemed Excellency Lucianne." The old-guard noble Mars immediately lowered his head, his forehead covered in cold sweat: "It… it's because I'm too old, and I was deceived by the heretic, daring to question your decision. This… please forgive me!"

Lucianne glanced down at the Astra Militarum's inquiring eyes and said lightly: "Since he is a heretic, there's no need to exert effort. Execute him right here."

Bang!

A gunshot ended Kurs' life.

But that gunshot was like a heavy hammer striking the hearts of the other nobles; fear gripped everyone at once.

Looking at the terrified nobles, Lucianne felt an unprecedented exhilaration, as if her entire being had been elevated. Her lips curved into a smile: "Now, does anyone still question my decision?"

Evidence?

That's laughable. Corruption needs evidence; suppressing rebellion needs no evidence, only coordinates!

The hall was silent.

No one dared to question her anymore; that heretic's corpse was glaring evidence!

"Very good, since no one is questioning…"

Lucianne revealed a cruel smile, as if looking at a flock of lambs to be slaughtered: "Then it's my turn. Seaman, Miller, Carrell, Horseman… all of the above are heretics!"

A long string of names, like the King of Hell calling out the roll, came from Lucianne's mouth. The last four words struck like thunder, creating rolling aftershocks!

"No! No! This is slander!!!"

"I shed blood for the Imperium! I rendered meritorious service for the Imperium!"

"No, Lucianne, this is slander! I am loyal to His Majesty, save me—!"

But alas, the Astra Militarum had long disliked these nobles. With grim smiles, they rushed forward and dragged every noble whose name was called out of the crowd.

"Too noisy, make them quiet."

Lucianne's eyes were cold, revealing a trace of disgust.

Bang bang bang bang… In an instant, fists met flesh!

Piercing screams echoed in the magnificent hall. Looking at the nobles being beaten to death by the Astra Militarum, the remaining nobles trembled.

What unity? What pressure?

At this moment, their minds were filled with the thought of "please don't call my name," and their knees trembled uncontrollably.

What could they do?

Even if they reported it to the Imperium, with so much evidence, an Inquisitor would give Lucianne a thumbs up and praise her for a job well done, perhaps even award her a medal!

The old-guard noble Mars closed his eyes in pain.

He had already foreseen the outcome; today… would be a bloodbath, and the entire situation of Vigilus would be completely overturned!

But he didn't understand who… had guided Agamemnus? Based on his understanding of Agamemnus, without a 'daemon's' guidance, she would absolutely not have done such a thing!

Great!

It felt incredibly good!

Lucianne, sitting in her chair, looked at the trembling, kneeling nobles with weak knees, feeling an unprecedented pleasure, as if her entire being had been sublimated!

"Tell Vannock, all families whose names were called today, before sunset… eradicate them completely. I don't want to hear a single related name after sunset!"

...Vannock covered his face. He had never imagined that one day he would confiscate so many homes that he would feel sick.

Looking at the list, which still contained at least a hundred names, how long would it take to confiscate each and every one of them?

Forget sunset, it would be difficult even by next month!

So, he completely hardened his resolve, grabbing the phone and roaring: "Bring me the 35th Regiment, the 47th Armored Regiment, and the 103rd Infantry Regiment, all to the upper hive! No need for survivors, just blast them with heavy artillery!!!"

Vannock was clearly driven to desperation.

But he believed governor Lucianne should understand, after all, the list of family members alone of the nobles whose homes needed to be raided could pile up into a mountain on his desk!

With just their small number of people, not to mention before sunset, even if they worked tirelessly day and night, it would conservatively take at least until next month to finish the raids.

"Colonel, are we... really going to do this?"

The adjutant beside him was somewhat apprehensive; that was the upper hive District for nobles, wouldn't they really be retaliated against then?

"Hmph, what's there to fear?"

Vannock glanced at the adjutant, a hint of cruelty on his face: "If something happens, naturally there are people above us to take responsibility.

Now that things have come to this... I'm not afraid to tell you, the governor has promised that we'll get ten percent of the wealth seized from the raids!"

That was over a hundred families, entrenched on Vigilus for at least a century, and often a millennium; even if it was only ten percent, that would be an unimaginable fortune!

"T-Ten percent?!"

The adjutant's eyes widened instantly.

Wealth stirs people's hearts, and soon the fear and apprehension in his eyes turned into excitement: "Colonel, what are we waiting for?

I am willing to lead the armored regiment to clear the way!"

Clearly, no one could resist the temptation of raiding noble's homes.

Lucianne had listened to Emrys' suggestion and distributed a portion of the profits, so that she could better stimulate the 'subjective initiative' of the Astra Militarum, wasn't it?

Facts proved that even the Astra Militarum, in the face of enormous profits, didn't mind transforming into the planetary governor's 'butcher knife'.

What Imperial accountability?

What Astra Militarum orders?

None of that mattered!

The Imperium only cared about the tithe, and other than that, as long as you gave a suitable reason, not to mention wiping out most of the nobles, even if you rebelled and became the planetary governor, the Department of the Interior might not even care!

The tragic and bloody raids began!

The Astra Militarum armored regiment cleared the way in front, and whenever they encountered a slightly resistant, ignorant family force, they would immediately set up the Petrified Lizards and unleash a wave of firepower!

What resistance?

Nonexistent!

Imperial nobles could indeed raise private soldiers, but even the most elite hired soldiers could not withstand the frontal advance of the Astra Militarum!

A full six hours!

Vannock commanded the armored regiment and infantry regiment, along the west street of the upper hive, slaughtering all the way to the east, and then circling back to the north, slaughtering from top to bottom, without even batting an eyelid!

This day was a day of suffering for the nobles on Vigilus!

The nobles, who were usually arrogant and domineering, were now like trembling ostriches, desperately burying their heads in the sand, afraid that they would be next.

If you were to ask why the nobles didn't resist?

In fact, it wasn't that they didn't resist, it was mainly because they really couldn't win.

The Astra Militarum was the Emperor's army, although often jokingly referred to as 'cannon fodder', but... in fact, being called cannon fodder was already a great honor!

Take a look at the Astra Militarum's enemies, what kind of monsters and daemons were they?

It was like being used to playing on hell difficulty, and suddenly returning to normal mode, beating these nobles was like a game.

Moreover, the Astra Militarum didn't care at all, anyway, if the infantry regiment didn't work, then they would use the armored regiment, and if the armored regiment still didn't work... then it would be the artillery regiment's turn.

No matter how thick the noble's gate was, could it withstand a few shells?

If the Astra Militarum was really pushed to the edge, Vannock was fully qualified to order the 47th Antrel Lions Regiment to move out.

No matter how powerful you were, could you beat the Astartes Stormtroopers?

Under the afterglow of the setting sun, the upper hive District, which used to be brightly lit and filled with revelry day and night, was now as silent as death.

The gathered blood flowed into the sewers like streams, and the air was filled with lingering smoke and blood.

"It's finally over..."

Vannock wiped his sweat.

He had never imagined that one day he would actually 'raid homes' until he vomited, but fortunately it was finally over.

Looking at the wealth being continuously transported out from the last noble's vault, even Vannock couldn't help but be shocked, exclaiming: "Damn, I used to think nobles were rich, but I never knew how rich they were.

I've really learned something today!"

Not to mention anything else, just the wealth pulled out from this one noble's house was enough to pay for the military expenses of ten Astra Militarum regiments for a whole year, and there would even be a surplus!

Of course, the wealth seized from these raids needed to be centrally sent to Agamemnus, and after the governor distributed it, it would be exchanged for military expenses and given to the Astra Militarum.

After all, the Astra Militarum had no use for those luxurious decorations, paintings, and works of art.

It would be better to exchange them for something practical to improve their lives and equipment.

The magnificent banquet hall was filled with an unusually oppressive atmosphere.

The corpses of the nobles executed by the Astra Militarum were placed in the hall, and the pungent smell of blood was the best warning to all the remaining nobles.

But this was a misery for those nobles who were pampered on weekdays.

Lucianne sat on the chair without speaking, and none of them dared to get up.

They knelt until sunset, and their knees were almost stiff, but no one dared to speak.

Mars was an old noble, not only did his family have a long history, but he himself was quite old.

He looked at Lucianne countless times with pleading eyes, hoping that she could give him some face.

Unfortunately, Lucianne ignored him.

Until Vannock, covered in blood, stepped into the magnificent hall, his right fist slammed against his chest, and his muffled, deep voice spread throughout the hall: "Your Excellency governor, Astra Militarum Colonel Vannock, under orders to eliminate heretics, has completed the task, a total of one hundred and seventy-four families, with no survivors!"

The entire hall was silent!

The kneeling nobles showed expressions of horror on their faces.

They had guessed that it might be cruel, but they thought that at most they would pick a few typical examples to intimidate them.

Who knew that from beginning to end, they never intended to intimidate them, but to eradicate them completely!

How ruthless!

Amidst the frightened gazes of the nobles, Lucianne slowly rose from her chair, walked step by step to the center of the hall, her eyes like knives, sweeping over the kneeling nobles one by one.

"I will only say the following words once."

Her voice was very calm, without any fluctuations, but the killing intent contained in her tone made all the dignitaries shudder: "I hope everyone can remember it in their hearts, there is only one planetary governor on Vigilus, and there is only one Agamemnus.

I hope that when you all return, you will all think clearly, and never take the wrong path, so as not to become traitors to the Imperium, do you understand?"

This sentence was simply a blatant threat, and the implied meaning was also very simple, to make them recognize who they should rely on, and if there were any more short-sighted ones... then they would be 'heretics'!

No one would care about the truth, just as no one would question Lucianne, did all the nobles she purged today were heretics and xenos?

Unless they didn't plan to live, otherwise no one would ask.

Everyone was smart, a word to the wise was enough, and even if there were fools who couldn't see the situation clearly, they would have been eliminated just now.

Looking at the fear in the eyes of the many nobles, Lucianne knew that the time was almost ripe, and that continuing to exert pressure would be counterproductive, so she opened her mouth and said: "Praise the Emperor, you have successfully passed the test, from now on you will be... my friends of Agamemnus, and we are never stingy with friends!"

Saying that, Lucianne pretended to help Mars, who was about to faint from kneeling, and smiled: "I remember you, the Mars family has also fought bloody battles in the galaxy for His Majesty.

In order to make up for my apologies today, I am willing to hand over all the properties and Factories of the Kurs family to you to manage, how about it?"

After giving a blow, it was time for a sweet date.

No one was more shrewd than the nobles when it came to dividing the spoils.

Mars, who was still mourning the death of his bastard nobles a second ago, immediately perked up when he heard this, his eyes widening: "Your Excellency, how could you be wrong?

It is clearly those damned heretics who are wrong!

We should thank you for ridding the Imperium and Vigilus of this group of damned vermin!"

The other nobles twitched their eyes and cast strange glances.

No wonder he was an old noble, this speed of changing faces was enough for everyone to learn from.

"Of course, everyone who passed the test today has made contributions!"

Lucianne smiled and looked at everyone: "If there is merit, then there should be rewards.

Those vacant properties, industries, and Factories... will be a small token of my appreciation, and also a meager compensation to you loyal subjects of the Imperium!"

I should have said so earlier!

The nobles no longer felt sore in their waists, their knees no longer hurt, and their faces were filled with smiles as they stood up from the ground and echoed:

"That's right, that's right, we should thank Your Excellency for protecting our safety, it's all the fault of those heretics!"

"I firmly support Your Excellency!"

"Your Excellency governor, on behalf of the Charles family, I swear allegiance to you, we are firmly on your side!"

The oppressive atmosphere was swept away in an instant.

At this time, the attendants who had been instructed earlier entered the hall one by one, bringing expensive wines.

Lucianne raised her glass and smiled at everyone: "For the Imperium, for Agamemnus... I toast everyone!"

"Cheers to the great Lucianne Agamemnus governor!"

Outside, blood flowed like rivers, while in the magnificent hall, the nobles smiled and celebrated, praising the wise and mighty, great Agamemnus governor.

Amidst the toasting and exchanging of pleasantries, the bloody and cruel political purge came to a perfect end.

No noble mourned the dead, they would only lie on the corpses of the dead like vultures, devouring the flesh and blood of the fallen nobles!

Everyone got what they wanted.

And governor Lucianne, what she got was... power.

From now on, no one in the entire Hyperia Section would dare to defy the authority of Agamemnus!

But all of this had to thank one person!

The banquet lasted until late at night, and after feeding those greedy nobles, Lucianne couldn't wait, or rather, she shouldn't dare to delay, and went straight to Merlin' residence.

This time, she hid her tracks to avoid being guessed by those cunning nobles.

At the door was Nergals, the Captain of the Kill Team, who seemed to have guessed that she would come: "Your Excellency Governor, my lord has been waiting for you for a long time, please follow me."

Soon, she came to a smaller room again and saw Merlin in the candlelight, sitting at the dining table with exquisite meals on it, and in his arms... it was a little girl with withered yellow hair and a thin figure, but with very bright eyes.

"You're here, sit down."

Merlin gently wiped the soup from the corner of the little girl's lips, rubbed her little head, and said, "Okay, brother has to talk about something. Morgana, go find Sister Elsa, it's time for you to go to bed."

"Okay~! See you tomorrow, brother!"

Little Morgana was very well-behaved. After wiping her mouth clean, she got out of his arms and hopped out of the room, not forgetting to wave to them politely before leaving: "Goodbye, brother, goodbye, Auntie!"

"Good... goodbye..."

Governor Lucianne was a little dazed and waved her hand subconsciously. She looked at Merlin, wanting to say something but hesitating, but then she thought... maybe he just likes this type? Merlin saw the ambiguity in her eyes but was too lazy to explain, and said lightly: "Have all the matters been taken care of?"

"Yes, everything has been taken care of, lord Emrys."

Governor Lucianne came back to her senses and hurriedly lowered her head to show respect: "This time, one hundred and seventy-four noble families were purged, and the assets seized from their vaults, according to the agreement... fifty percent of them belong to your assets. I have ordered people to seal them up specially, and you can take them away at any time."

"Except for weapons, exchange all the remaining items for supplies and distribute them to the civilians in the middle-hive and lower hive."

Merlin said casually, scattering countless wealth with a single sentence.

Even governor Lucianne was shocked: "You... you mean..."

"Am I not clear enough?"

Merlin glanced at her and repeated: "Except for weapons, military equipment, and minerals, exchange all the remaining luxury goods for supplies and distribute them to the civilians in the middle-hive and lower hive."

In fact, among those nobles' properties, the most meaningful and useful to him were only weapons and military equipment. Other than that... luxury goods, artworks, and so on, were really not very useful to a Rogue Trader.

Moreover, with the resources of the two worlds he now controlled, wealth had long lost its practical value. It would be better to give it to those who needed it more, which could be regarded as... slightly making up for some of his guilt towards Little Morgana.

When he was a scavenger, although he often encountered intrigues, many people had helped him, so Merlin didn't mind helping those civilians within his capabilities.

"Yes, lord Emrys."

Seeing his firm attitude, governor Lucianne didn't say anything more, secretly reminding herself that, judging from Merlin' attitude, she must also pay attention to the civilians in the middle-hive and lower hive in the future.

Suddenly, the communicator in his arms vibrated, causing Merlin to frown slightly. Then, he directly issued an order to leave: "If there's nothing else, Your Excellency governor can go back."

"Sorry for disturbing your rest, lord Emrys."

Governor Lucianne's cautious appearance was completely different from before.

This scene was simply full of drama.

In just a few days, the positions of the two sides had quietly changed, and the strong side had become Merlin.

In fact, from the moment governor Lucianne slaughtered the nobles, she had no way to turn back.

Either completely side with Merlin, or... wait to be jointly deprived of more power by the Ecclesiarchy and Mechanicus!

Looking at the departing governor Lucianne, Merlin looked at the communicator with a headache. As expected, it was that guy Rosales, probably because he had encountered another problem.

"Lord Emrys, your prediction has been verified."

In the small communicator, Rosales' projection didn't seem to be in good condition.

The mechanical arm that was unloaded last time hadn't been reinstalled this time, and he seemed to be hiding in a dark place, looking extremely embarrassed.

"Lord Rosales, what's wrong? Didn't you escape?"

Merlin' expression was a little strange. He hadn't seen him for a few days, but how did the dignified Archmagos of the Dark Mechanicum become like this?

"Eh... the matter is more complicated."

Rosales' tone was extremely bitter, and he said aggrievedly: "I listened to your suggestion and ran away that day, but after thinking about it, I really had nowhere else to go, so I went back to Siluria again."

"And then?"

Merlin was puzzled. Even if he returned to Siluria, he shouldn't have become like this.

"The problem lies here. Damn Tyranid, because they infiltrated many people, the Mechanicus launched an investigation."

Speaking of this, Rosales sighed deeply: "You should be able to guess what happened next. My identity was discovered."

No wonder he became like this, it was too reasonable!

You must know that the Mars Mechanicus has always been willing to pay any price for the Dark Mechanicum!

This can be completely referenced to the wars between religions in the 2K era.

Perhaps the Mechanicus may not be very serious about heretic, but if it is replaced by heretic, it is completely zero tolerance.

However, Rosales was too unlucky, right?

Merlin felt that he was too unlucky. He ran into all the things on Vigilus.

"Lord Emrys, I really need your help."

Obviously, Rosales had been forced to a dead end, otherwise, it would be impossible for him to ask outsiders for help.

After thinking for a long time, the only person who had the ability to rescue him seemed to be Merlin.

"Lord Emrys, I know this is a very dangerous thing for you."

Rosales hurriedly said before he could speak: "But I have no other choice. If you are willing to help me, I will pay the corresponding 'reward' as your income for this adventure."

When it came to 'reward', Merlin became a little interested: "Tell me about the reward in detail."

"You should know that in Space Marine transformation surgery, in addition to the most important Gene-Seed, implanted organs are also very important!"

In order to save his life, Rosales said with heartache: "I am willing to pay 50 sets of implanted organs as this reward!"

Fifty sets of implanted organs seemed good.

However, Merlin, who was familiar with Rosales' character, deliberately showed hesitation.

"Lord Rosales, it's not that I don't want to save you."

He hesitated for a few seconds and said with a solemn expression: "But you should be more clear that this is the territory of the Mechanicus. It is too difficult to take you away under their noses."

On the other side of the communicator, Rosales, who was hiding in the sewer, couldn't wait to give him a knife through the screen.

What was too difficult? It was clearly implying that he had to add money!

But when a man is under the eaves, he has to bow his head. Rosales knew very well how difficult this matter was, so he pinched his nose and said: "Merlin, I can exchange it for ten sets of Primaris Space Marine's implanted organs for you. You should understand how much weight this has!"

Primaris Space Marine has three more implanted organs than Space Marine.

The strengthened Primaris Space Marine will be taller in size, and the Gene-Seed will be more stable, reducing the probability of mutation.

At the same time, speed, strength, and so on will surpass the original Space Marine!

Now is 999.M41, the eve of the Indomitus Crusade. The number of Primaris Space Marine has not expanded as much as in the later period, so each set of implanted organs is extremely precious and rare. After all, even the Dark Mechanicum finds it difficult to obtain too many.

He could take out ten sets at once, and Merlin calculated that it was the maximum price.

"Okay, that's settled then, lord Rosales."

Merlin made a final decision and said earnestly: "Please be sure to hold on for a few more days. I need to solve something, and I will arrive at Siluria Hive soon."

With Merlin' guarantee, Rosales also breathed a sigh of relief: "Okay, I will wait for you to come, lord Emrys."

The communication was cut off, and Merlin sighed: "It seems that I still have to go to Siluria after all."

At this time, the room door was suddenly pushed open. He looked up and saw that it was Elsa.

Seeing Elsa, who was limping and supporting herself as she came in, he frowned and said with some displeasure: "Why are you here? Didn't I ask you to take good care of your injuries?"

"I... I was worried about you, so I came to see."

Elsa looked at him aggrievedly, her beautiful eyes seemed to be filled with mist.

"Forget it, forget it, I didn't blame you."

Merlin couldn't stand women's tears the most, so he sighed helplessly and changed the subject: "Is Morgana asleep?"

"She was coaxed to sleep just now, lord."

Elsa stuck out her tongue, looking quite cute.

I don't know if it was because of the Drukhari assassination, but Elsa, who was injured, seemed to become more dependent on him.

"You should go to rest too. When your injuries are healed, there are still many things to do."

As he was talking, Merlin habitually went to pinch his brow, but Elsa seemed to anticipate it in advance and gently came behind him, massaging him gently: "I only injured my leg, it's not that serious. Look~ I can still massage you, can't I?"

This touched Merlin' weakness, and he couldn't help but smile wryly.

Yes, he didn't know when he had become a little inseparable from Elsa.

"Help me contact Carol."

Merlin closed his eyes, enjoying Elsa's massage, and said softly: "It's time to go to Reductus Sector, Mechanicus's territory."

Hearing this, Elsa's movements paused, seeming a little surprised: "Are we going to Reductus Sector so soon?"

"Yes, we have to go."

Merlin nodded slightly and closed his eyes, saying: "The Gene-Seed brought by Rosales must be recovered as soon as possible."

He didn't really care about Rosales' life or death, but the Gene-Seed and implanted organs must be obtained.

That guy Rosales' words were very simple, if he didn't go to save him, he shouldn't even think about getting the Gene-Seed.

So, no matter what, he had to go to Siluria.

Not for Rosales, but for his 'Space Marine'!
