Chapter 145 - Iron Legion?

The storm of the Hellish fire Dragon had just ended, and the situation on the entire battlefield suddenly changed again!

Front-line reports flew into the command tent like raindrops. Emrys' expression was slightly grim as his gaze swept over the contents of the reports, then a look of joy appeared on his face: "Good! Harken, the Haarken World-Eater, has finally appeared!"

Visar, the Chapter master of the Avengers, who was beside him, had a hint of cold light in his eyes: "Finally, is it our turn?"

He was already eager to engage with Chaos.

Since the establishment of the Avengers Chapter, everything has been for this moment: to wash away the shame in their bones, and to win glory and victory for Emrys and the Emperor!

"No, no rush."

Emrys' eyelids were half-closed, and he remained calmly in control: "It's not your turn yet, Visar."

Although he was eager to fight, Visar's genetic personality still made him regain his composure: "Yes, Lord Emrys."

"It's your turn to make a move."

Emrys closed his eyes, as if falling into a doze.

He had painstakingly, and at all costs, invested a massive amount of ammunition, trying to consume the living forces of the genestealers, but it wasn't to win the war!

In fact, even if he bombarded them for another ten days and nights, it would be difficult to kill all the infected.

Initially, it was by catching the genestealers off guard that such huge casualties were inflicted, but that didn't mean the genestealers had lost the power to resist and could only be bombed at will!

On the contrary, those 'infected' who were deeply corrupted, and even had psychic talents, were mostly tied up by Siluria.

The goal of 'Venerable Ancestral Dragon' was to occupy the Siluria hive city and destroy that God Machine, which is why he didn't use most of his forces against these peripheral legions; otherwise, how could it be so easy?

But on the other hand, because of his continuous harassment, Chaos and the genestealers had to divert some of their energy.

This, in turn, alleviated some of the pressure on Siluria.

However, what Emrys wanted was not just 'alleviating pressure'; he had to draw out the forces of Chaos. Only then could he create an opportunity.

Now the opportunity had arrived!

Emrys granted the front-line soldiers ample command authority.

He also wanted to see how that legion would perform in a truly difficult war.

Shifting the perspective to the front line, the enemies, suppressed by firepower, had actually become smarter!

"Report! Large numbers of enemies detected on both the left and right flanks!"

A reconnaissance report confirmed his conjecture.

"They've learned their lesson. They actually plan to use their numerical advantage to attack from three directions simultaneously?" He stood over the map, his gaze fixed on it. After a brief moment of thought, he said: "Tell Uther, it's his legion's turn to enter the fray!"

Among the large numbers of infected gathered on both the left and right flanks, there were high-level psychic infected mixed in.

Upon receiving the order, Uther immediately issued commands: "android Auxiliary Army, Tyrant Legion, all of you push forward! At all costs, stop the enemies on both flanks! Don't let a single one through!"

In the blink of an eye, two waves of legions, like a tide, engaged in a chaotic battle on the left and right flanks!

Initially, the infected were very excited. They could finally stretch their limbs, and each of them charged forward fanatically.

The infected who encountered the android Auxiliary Army were quickly stunned.

They had never seen 'people' who could still counterattack after having their heads cut off, and besides, these guys weren't people at all!

android Auxiliary Army didn't need training and would never fear; the moment they came off the production line, they were already 'complete entities'.

Meanwhile, the infected on the other side also encountered a not-so-small problem.

That was the 'Tyrants'. These things, completely infected by biochemical viruses, had no thoughts whatsoever, and even psychics couldn't control them.

If that were all, it would be fine, but the problem was... these things would explode!

Once a 'Tyrant' was torn apart by the infected, an explosion would immediately follow. Its flesh and blood contained highly corrosive properties, capable of melting the surrounding infected within ten meters in an instant, practically making it a walking super sulfuric bomb!

Contrary to expectations, the pincer movement from the left and right flanks, a one-sided slaughter, did not occur.

Instead, large numbers of infected on both flanks were held back by the android Auxiliary Army and the Tyrants, who fought with almost no regard for casualties.

Just as both sides were locked in a stalemate, a fresh force suddenly charged in!

Those Space Marines, clad in twisted, blasphemous armor, tall and imposing, like scavenging vultures, targeted the legion's most vulnerable moment, plunging in like a sharp knife, directly piercing into the heartland!

They were the most elite warriors, and a sharp spearhead!

Mere mortal auxiliary forces, even the most elite Astra Militarum, could not stop them, let alone the First Auxiliary Army in their first battle?

Although the auxiliary forces fought bravely, a breach was still torn open!

A full five hundred Space Marines, aided by dozens of Terminators, pierced through three lines of defense with an almost one-sided crushing momentum!

Their vanguard pointed directly at the rear, the main command tent!

"A decapitation strike?"

Emrys, in the tent, heard the noise outside.

He slowly opened his eyes, as if he had already anticipated this scene, and the corners of his lips curled slightly.

The First Auxiliary Army, even with superior firepower and numerical advantage, could not stop the 'Chaos Raptors'.

"But alas, you've fallen into a trap." In Emrys' line of sight, he could already see the five hundred Chaos Space Marines and dozens of Terminators advancing with unstoppable steps towards his main tent: "Since you've come, then all of you stay here!"

Suddenly, an ominous premonition surged in the hearts of the Raptor vanguard, who had just breached the core camp area.

Wait, what is that?!

A colossal light shot into the sky, as if to pierce the clouds!

Amidst terrifying energy fluctuations and rolling, tumultuous air currents, several massive mechanical constructs with 'knight-like' figures emerged sequentially from that pillar of light, striding with an air of utter disregard!

"Autobots—Attack!!!"

A heroic roar erupted, as if signaling the beginning of a grand spectacle!

From that pillar of light, Optimus Prime, raising his thermal fusion axe, donned his battle mask and entered combat mode!

And his first target was those three-meter 'mechs'.

Before that Chaos Terminator could make any move, Optimus Prime took a step forward, and his thermal fusion axe gathered power and swung down!

Boom!

One Terminator was just split apart like that!

Standing on the Terminator's wreckage, Optimus Prime's majestic gaze swept around: "Autobots, protect the Primogenitor, kill them all!"

This scene was fully observed by Drayne on the Iron Fortress.

Wait, what was that thing?!

By the Omnissiah! Drayne rubbed his eyes, thinking he had seen wrong.

But alas, even if he gouged out his eyeballs, he wouldn't be able to unsee it.

"Iron… Iron Man Legion?"

Drayne was utterly bewildered. How he wished he had seen wrong.

But unfortunately, his eyesight was excellent, especially after he had just upgraded his new augur array. The view was even wider and clearer!

Very well, in the 'high-definition' image, he could confirm it.

That thing, nine times out of ten, was an Iron Man!

Cold sweat streamed down Drayne's forehead. He was almost certain that these suddenly appearing legions, as well as the 'Iron Man Legion', must be the doing of that kid 'Emrys'.

Besides that guy, who else could cause such a huge commotion?

But the problem was... those were Iron Men!

And it was an entire legion-sized force. Drayne even felt the Death Star shining!

He couldn't even imagine what their fate would be if the Imperial Inquisition found out there was a large 'Iron Man Legion' on Vigilus!

What? You say Iron Men are loyal and friendly to humans?

Sorry, ever since the 'Iron Man Rebellion', the Imperium has suffered from 'AI PTSD'.

If any trace of Iron Men is found, if they don't dig up the world three feet deep and completely annihilate the 'Iron Men' on a physical level, the High Lords of Holy Terra probably wouldn't be able to sleep at night!

The Forge Temple of Stygies VIII also had some prestige.

But even the immensely powerful Stygies VIII would not dare to openly deploy such a massive 'Iron Man Legion'.

Drayne was on the verge of tears, almost kneeling before Emrys.

How many more 'surprises' was this kid hiding?

His heart felt a bit uncomfortable; this was too exciting. Next, a 'Titan' wouldn't pop out, would it!
