Chapter 160 - You still want to run away?

Emrys held Elsa tightly, his lips gently touching her cheek, and in the softest voice, he said, "Close your eyes. When you wake up... that's when I'll fulfill my promise, Elsa."

He held the almost unrecognizable 'Elsa' in his arms, slowly closed his eyes, and silently prayed in his heart... Please, Traveler!

"Still not willing to give up?"

Kairos gripped his staff, a mocking sneer on his face. "It's useless. The future that has entered my eyes can absolutely not be changed. You... cannot escape, Atropos. This is your destiny. Come... into my embrace"

Wait, what happened?!

Kairos' words stopped abruptly, as if he had 'seen' something, an 'future' that left him incredulous.

"You... just now, what did you do?"

"Hey, aren't you supposed to see the 'future'?" Emrys knelt on one knee, maintaining his original posture.

But... both Kairos and Herbert behind him, suddenly widened their eyes, revealing expressions of disbelief.

The 'Elsa' lying in Emrys' arms... had vanished, as if she had never appeared!

No, she's gone?!

Kairos' grey-white pupils suddenly contracted, as if in extreme shock, his mind like a clap of thunder.

"What... on earth happened? Emrys, what did you do? Why... has the 'future' in my eyes disappeared?!"

Ever since he crawled out of the Well of Eternity and sacrificed his sanity and eyes, he had been able to observe the 'future', and once a future was observed by him, it was bound to happen, a convergence of the Warp's currents, the only timeline!

But... Kairos didn't understand why, just now, there was a brief blank in the 'future' in his eyes!

It was a blank like nothingness, directly erased. The 'result' it was clearly leading to was Elsa's death, but... the necessary 'cause' was missing!

If he had to put it, it was like... he had predicted the 'future', but the 'process' leading to that future had suddenly vanished, and without a 'process', the 'future' naturally couldn't happen smoothly!

"You... what exactly did you do, Atropos—!!!" Kairos finally revealed his true insane nature, and amidst his twisted and blasphemous shriek, evil Chaos sorcery swirled around him!

"Oh?"

Emrys swayed, slowly stood up, a seemingly insane sneer on his face.

"Don't your eyes see the future? Since you're so powerful, then open your eyes wide and see clearly... what exactly happened!"

In that instant, he used the 'Traveler's' advantage to directly Warp to the alien world, and then handed the critically wounded Elsa over to Weyland.

Other Worlds do not have the Warp, so it was equivalent to directly severing the root cause of Elsa's death. Then he ordered Weyland and the Engineers to ensure Elsa's vital signs at all costs!

After doing all this, Emrys Warped back again.

So, from a visual perspective, it was as if the two of them briefly disappeared for more than ten seconds, and when they reappeared, only Emrys was left.

Herbert, behind him, could see this scene, but... Kairos couldn't. He could only see the 'future' and the 'past', but not what was happening in the 'present'.

In other words, from Kairos' perspective, Elsa's death in the future had been... erased!

"No, impossible... How could this be?!"

Kairos seemed unable to accept the fact that the 'future' he had observed had become a blank, and he fell into a state of frenzy and madness.

He was the observer of Chaos, the 'Weaver of Fate' who looked down on all living beings. How could something unexpected happen?!

"Atropos—!!!" This birdman, in his frenzy, tried to squeeze through the gap, extending twisted and sharp claws, trying to grab Emrys.

"You... what exactly did you do?!"

"Hey, friend." Emrys turned to Herbert, grinning.

"Can I borrow your Shock Lance?"

The Singing Spear, in order to suppress the psychic storm, was almost completely damaged, turning into ashes in his hand, falling bit by bit.

Herbert paused for half a second but immediately understood his meaning and instantly manipulated his Knight Mech, throwing the huge lance.

"Remember to return it to me, brother!"

The massive Shock Lance, carrying a blast of air, came. Emrys stepped forward, doing his best to absorb the psychic energy pouring out of the gap!

"Kairos, as you can see" His crimson eyes surged with chilling murderous intent.

"You can indeed observe the future, but... the future observed by you will never arrive. Consider it a farewell gift from me!"

The next moment, the already incredibly fast Shock Lance was enveloped in violent telekinesis and fire, like a beam of light piercing through stars, crashing into Kairos with terrifying momentum!

"Hmph, Tzeentch villain, take this spear of mine!!!"

Boom!!!

Terrifying psychic energy unleashed, like a world-shattering wave, erupting with immense destructive power!

The already extremely fragile Warp rift, having lost its 'sacrifice', was instantly destroyed by this blow, and Kairos, on the other side of the rift, seemed to awaken from his frenzy.

"So that's how it is"

Kairos stood still, a faint light seemingly blooming in the grey-white pupils of his two bird heads.

"I, I understand... No wonder, my master, the Blood God, the Imperium... all favor you."

"Atropos... you truly are the most special. I finally understand!" He saw the 'truth' and knew the greatest 'secret'!

Surging psychic energy poured back into the rift, the wound in the material universe was slowly mending, and Kairos, within the rift, gazed at Emrys and sneered.

"I will report this matter to my master... Atropos, you cannot escape!!!"

With the final roar, the Warp rift completely closed, Kairos' figure disappeared, and only then did everyone realize they had been in the corridor all along!

...Upon returning to the Warp, Kairos thought of the 'secret' he had seen and decided to report this matter to his 'master'.

But, suddenly.

A dense bloody color enveloped the Warp. Kairos, completely powerless to resist, was forcibly dragged by an extremely brutal, tyrannical force into a desert that seemed soaked in blood!

Wait... where is this?

Kairos' pupils constricted slightly, then he seemed to sense something. His two bird heads turned to look, and in the 'future' timeline, a 'Khorne Greater Daemon' suddenly appeared!

No, it wasn't just a Khorne Greater Daemon!

He even saw the 'Being' seated on a brass throne, as if wearing a brass iron mask, casting a gaze of anger.

Just then, a slender figure entered Kairos' future vision.

"Lord of Change, Kairos the Weaver of Fate"

Winnie drew her golden longsword, wreathed in fire, followed by the 'Cursed Legion', and said with a cold expression.

"Sorry, you... can't go back."

God Damn!

Even having lived for so many years, Kairos had never seen a Living Saint of the Human Emperor and the Cursed Legion ally with a Khorne Greater Daemon!

Suddenly, he seemed to realize something, and abruptly turned to look at the extremely tyrannical figure on the brass throne.

"You, you knew all along that he was"

Boom—!!!

A colossal, mountain-like bloody axe blade, imbued with monstrous rage and battle intent, as if to tear the entire sky apart, interrupted Kairos' words!

In an instant, this cunning and sly Lord of Change who could see the 'future', Kairos the Weaver of Fate, was buried by the bloody great axe.

Winnie calmly watched this scene. After Kairos' death, she turned and silently departed, the Cursed Legion beside her also disappearing in fire.

"Hmph... Tzeentch!"
