Chapter 308 - Agri-World Earth

Regarding the alien attitude, Emrys did not fully agree with the Imperium's demonic actions, but the premise was that the alien must show goodwill towards humanity.

Apparently, the Devourers were not among them.

Since the Devourers regarded humanity as livestock to be raised, Emrys was not to blame for using them to improve the Star Army's rations.

Stonefang was a good Commander and certainly deserved respect, but this did not prevent Emrys from executing him to deter the Devourers.

Indeed, after the ten Elders and Stonefang were publicly executed, their bodies crushed into mud by tank treads, the residents of the entire Devourers immediately became much more compliant.

Although a small number of resistors still existed, these were nothing to fear, vanishing like fleeting waves under the bloody and violent suppression of the three great legions.

With the greatest danger resolved, it was now time for his harvest.

Emrys had Moss' data processor sent to the Devourer battleship, and with the help of the war supercomputer's processing power, he quickly breached the battleship's firewall, taking control of the massive vessel.

And Moss, naturally, became the 'machine spirit' of this battleship.

After inspecting the Devourers's weapon systems and war logs, Emrys also understood why Stonefang had claimed their defeat was unjust.

The Time Amber Cage device, matter-disintegration beams, gene farm technology, stellar refraction technology, and a series of other super-weapons were all stifled in their cages before they could even be deployed.

If the Devourers had been more decisive, and at the moment of declaring war, had followed Stonefang's plan to freeze the time flow of the entire Earth with the Time Amber Cage, they would not have fallen to this state.

Furthermore, if the timid Commander, Rift-Jaw, had been more resolute when the human landing craft approached, and ordered the use of matter-disintegration beams, they would not have approached so smoothly.

Stonefang's final plan was that if the Devourer resistance failed, he would activate the 'black Hole Stomach', the engine core located at the battleship's equator!

At that time, the entire Devourer battleship would be torn apart by immense gravity, and both the human invaders and hundreds of thousands of Devourer troops on board would be sucked into the black hole.

Of course, some Devourers would escape in life pods, fleeing the Solar System.

But unfortunately, Stonefang's proposed plans were destined not to succeed.

"Good idea." Emrys smiled, unconcerned. Even if the Devourers had resolutely executed Stonefang's plans, it would not have succeeded.

After all, for this war, he had already thought of all countermeasures, and naturally considered the possibility of the Devourers perishing with them.

Once things reached an irreversible point, Emrys would immediately have the 'Void Dragon' forcibly terminate and sacrifice the entire Devourer race.

That is why he had told Stonefang from the beginning that he had already checkmated him.

The Void Dragon had infiltrated the Devourer battleship early on; no matter how they resisted, they could not change the final outcome. Do not underestimate humanity's speculation about 'malice'!

Moreover, Emrys was also a human from a famous 'cesspit'?

On the Devourer battleship, Emrys handled post-war affairs, and several days later, representatives from various human nations arrived there successively.

Looking at the incredibly magnificent Devourer battleship, they still found it hard to believe.

Humanity had truly won!

And it was a complete carry, with the planetary engines modified in the early stages having almost no effect.

Throughout the war, Emrys undoubtedly showcased the terrifying capabilities of 'future humanity', completely crushing the vast Devourers with overwhelming force!

Zhou Zhezhi's took a deep breath and, along with the others, entered the council hall that once belonged to the Devourers's highest authority.

"Mr. Emrys, we are here."

The group took their seats, quietly looking at Emrys, awaiting further instructions.

The Devourers had fallen, but many post-war issues still needed to be resolved, including the remaining billions of people, the repair of the massive battleship, and the collection and distribution of resources, among other things.

The newly established Holy Terra Alliance also urgently needed direction.

This was also the main reason Emrys had summoned representatives from various human member states here; he needed these people to help him stabilize matters here.

"To make a long story short."

Emrys went straight to the point, stating, "The population of the Devourers will all be classified as 'livestock', to be reasonably and scientifically farmed. Based on meat quality and taste, they will be divided into different grades of products, made into compressed canned goods, etc., to be submitted as your 'taxes' every Holy Terra Year. Any questions?"

Everyone exchanged glances. Zhou Zhezhi's hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Mr. Emrys, is it not a bit too much to use billions of intelligent beings as food?"

Although he did not finish his sentence, he received agreement from the other four council members.

"Mr. Emrys, we are not going against your wishes, we just feel that doing this—" Mike still couldn't get past his moral reservations.

If publicly cooking Devourers before the joint council was meant to boost human morale, then this was purely a breach of morality!

For Earthlings at this stage, this was undoubtedly a challenge.

Their reaction was within Emrys' expectations.

"If humanity wants to venture into the Star Sea and enter the universe, then it must abandon moral standards. Selfishness, ruthlessness, and absolute pragmatism are the only standards that need to be upheld!"

"Please, all of you, keep this in mind!"

Emrys looked at them expressionlessly.

"If any of you feel uncomfortable, you can put yourselves in their shoes. Suppose the Devourers were sitting here today; would they spare defeated humans because of moral issues?"

Everyone fell silent.

Indeed, if the Devourers were sitting here today, they would only be discussing how to better raise humans to improve their quality and taste!

"Second matter."

Emrys made the decision directly, then said, "Starting today, you are officially incorporated into the Holy Terra Alliance, designated as 'Agricultural Worlds', primarily producing grain, biomass, livestock, genetically modified crops, etc., including dried shrimp-worms, cockroach blocks, and dinosaur meat products. The tax rate is special grade, 50% of total output."

Such an exorbitant tax!

Even Zhou Zhezhi's's expression changed dramatically.

"Mr. Emrys, is a 50% tax too high? Furthermore, we currently have the Sun crisis, and large amounts of land cannot be cultivated—"

"No need to worry, I have considered it."

Emrys smiled and waved his hand, saying, "I will build you a Dyson Ring to escape the crisis of the Sun's aging. Secondly, I will provide you with some crops. These products are specialized species of the future, and even on the current Earth, they can grow very easily. 50% will be more than enough to sustain your population. At the same time, I will help you develop colonies like Mars as new cultivation lands. You only need to research how to raise the Devourers."

A 50% tax was Emrys' greatest generosity and kindness; this was still out of respect for Zhou Zhezhi's. Otherwise, it would certainly be a tithe!

If the Imperium truly collected a tithe from Agricultural Worlds, it is likely the entire Wandering Earth would not be enough to exploit.

[Agricultural world: The Wandering Earth Tax Level: Special Production: Dinosaur Meat, Genetic Crops, Grains, Livestock]

After several days, Emrys had basically finalized the plan.

At the same time, the construction of a massive 'Stargate' also began, to allow other Worlds to cross through space and time sequentially.

Weyland-Yutani Corporation naturally took on The Wandering Earth's atmospheric environment modification project. Under Moss' comprehensive planning, it was estimated that this great, epoch-making construction would be completed in just a few months.

To ensure The Wandering Earth's foundation as an agricultural world, Emrys also invited another expert.

Sentinel Prime stroked his metallic, braid-like beard, then looked at the aging Sun and said calmly, "Lord, with all due respect, based on the technology we have currently unearthed, trying to stop a star with an aging core… is very difficult."

Upon hearing this, the congressmen, represented by Zhou Zhezhi's, immediately showed signs of anxiety.

If the aging of the Sun's core could not be resolved, then humanity would have to leave the Earth. Although they now had the Devourer battleship and didn't need to build over ten thousand planetary engines, this was their home after all!

If there was even a shred of hope, they didn't want to abandon their home.

However, Emrys, who was familiar with Sentinel Prime, heard an unspoken meaning in his words.

"What are your thoughts? Just say them directly."

"Hahaha, as expected of the Ancestor, truly impressive. He can see through my thoughts at a glance." Sentinel Prime chuckled, subtly flattering him before saying, "Actually, we don't need to go through so much trouble. There's an even simpler method."

Zhou Zhezhi's and the others cast expectant gazes.

Emrys impatiently tapped the table, a hint of displeasure in his eyes.

"Ahem, my plan is as follows." Sentinel Prime immediately understood and began to explain his plan.

"Firstly, from a technical standpoint, it's very difficult for us to create a Dyson Sphere with 100% utilization, so we cannot stop the star's core from aging. Since that's the case… I suggest we can directly use a 'Star Harvester' to drain this star's energy, and then build an artificial Sun to replace it!"

Upon hearing this plan, everyone was almost dumbfounded.

Zhou Zhezhi's's eyelids twitched, and he opened his mouth, looking as if he wanted to speak but couldn't.

"Pfft…" Emrys pinched his swollen forehead, looking at him helplessly.

"Sentinel Prime, are you sure you're not joking? The difficulty of building an artificial star is hundreds, even tens of thousands of times harder than building a Dyson Ring!"

Just one example would show the difference between the two.

Building a Dyson Sphere that utilizes 100% of a star's energy would only require a civilization of roughly Level 3.

However, building an 'artificial Sun' that perfectly conforms to a star's operational laws – the technical difficulty involved is at least that of a Level 5 civilization!

A star is not static. From a cosmic macroscopic perspective, a star's gravity drags the entire Solar System's celestial bodies, continuously moving around a larger gravitational pull. If the star were truly harvested, without the protection of the solar wind, the Earth would likely suffer an even worse fate!

"I think it's better to just restart The Wandering Earth project…" Zhou Zhezhi's had already given up.

Not a single one of these mechanical lifeforms was reliable!

Without the protection of the Sun, they might as well wander. At least that way, they wouldn't have to worry about colliding with some celestial body someday.

"Well, actually…" Sentinel Prime's face showed a rare hint of shame.

"Lord, we found the engineering technology for building artificial Suns by our ancestors in the Cybertronian ruins, so you don't need to worry too much."

"You…"

Emrys had a mouthful of air stuck in his throat.

It actually fit the Transformers' characteristics quite well; after all, they were similar to Warhammer humans, with technology entirely based on archaeology.

Zhou Zhezhi's and Mike and others expressed their incomprehension, and even Moss was very confused.

Everyone knew that science progressed step by step; how could someone learn to fly before they even learned to walk?

Indeed, the technical difficulty of building an artificial Sun versus building a Dyson Ring was like heaven and Earth.

This was unscientific!

Moss felt its logic was facing its greatest challenge ever!

As for Zhou Zhezhi's and Mike and the others, they looked dumbfounded. Well – they still couldn't understand the feeling of being 'ancestors who once prospered' like the Transformer race.

The help from the Transformers and Weyland-Yutani Corporation would naturally not be free; the governments of The Wandering Earth would also need to cede a portion of their interests.

This included the technologies they were most interested in: battleships, weapons, ecological transformation, and immortality from the Devourers civilization.

This was also a scene Emrys was happy to see.

Everyone exchanging what they had would lead to prosperity, and only by them becoming stronger would Emrys' strength also grow.

"I trust you all."

Emrys withdrew his gaze, lightly tapped the table with his knuckles, indicating the discussion was over.

"The rest of the matters are in your hands. Don't disappoint me."

He had been away for over half a month, and it was time to return to the main universe to check on things; otherwise, he would always be worried.

"Yes, Your Excellency, Supreme Councillor, Mr. Emrys." The various joint representatives bowed their heads, secretly sighing in relief. This venerable figure was finally leaving.

Before leaving, Emrys met with Moss alone, with the intention of both admonishing it and having it monitor humanity.

Emrys had gained a lot from this trip to The Wandering Earth, acquiring a star-class battleship from an advanced civilization for free, and also taking all the achievements of the entire Devourer civilization into his possession.

But if one were to speak of the 'most valuable' gain, he believed it was none other than the Devourers.

"Heh heh, if those people in the Ministry of military Affairs knew I found them a new, stable source of meat, they'd probably be happy to give me a medal, wouldn't they?" Emrys thought to himself, unable to help but chuckle aloud.

A moment later, he returned to the Warhammer Universe.

[Welcome back, Traveler]

[Congratulations, your authority has been upgraded]

[New Authority Added:

1. Time flow rate can be adjusted up to one hundred times.

2. Each time you enter a new world, you have 10 additional entry slots]

"Oh ho?"

Emrys raised an eyebrow; the stingy system had finally been generous for once.

Not only did it upgrade his authority and increase the time flow rate multiplier, but it also allowed him to add ten extra slots when traveling to new Worlds!

One had to know that every time he explored a new world, he had to go alone, which was very inconvenient, but now he wouldn't have to do that anymore!

"Not bad, not bad."

Emrys smiled and nodded, then walked out of the sealed secret room.

"I've been away for twenty-five days; I wonder how things are here."
