The battleship was sailing smoothly in the Warp.
Given Emrys' 'unlucky' constitution, to be honest, sailing smoothly for over ten days was an extremely rare and fortunate occurrence.
In the past, he might have celebrated happily, but now, ever since learning from Edoras that he was likely thrown into the Warp for a year during his childhood, he was in no mood.
If it wasn't the Emperor's doing, then it meant—it was highly probable that it was one of the Chaos Four Gods, or even all four!
But, why?!
This question always troubled Emrys, making him unable to understand what was so special about his original self that the Chaos Four Gods would value him so much?
He originally thought that he was targeted by the Chaos Four Gods because of his transmigration, but now it seemed that the time he was targeted was probably even earlier!
What exactly do the Chaos Four Gods want to do?
What is the Emperor plotting with him?
These questions turned into tangled thoughts, like an unravelable ball of yarn, filling Emrys' mind.
Suddenly, a figure burst into the command room.
Emrys turned his head and saw that it was Hilda, and he couldn't help but frown, saying in an irritated tone, "Who let you in? I want to be alone for a while, get out."
"You tell me to leave and I leave?" Hilda sneered, glaring at him.
"You're not my father, and besides—you're the captain! You've been locked in the command room for over ten days, everyone outside is going crazy!"
Hearing this, Emrys' newly ignited anger immediately subsided a little. He looked at Hilda and sighed, "We are in the Warp now, and our voyage is very stable. Don't worry—I won't delay important matters; I just need to think about some things."
"Think about what?"
Hilda frowned slightly and approached Emrys. Her height of over two meters allowed her to look him in the eye even while he was sitting in a high position.
"You are everyone's backbone, the core of this exploration fleet. No matter what you're thinking or what you've encountered, you must make yourself appear as if nothing has happened in front of them. This is your duty."
The suddenly serious sister Hilda made Emrys feel a bit strange.
"I thought you were only capable of being a human. I didn't expect you could say something so profound."
"I don't know what's troubling you, but I just want to tell you one thing." Hilda suddenly leaned in close, her exquisite face and the unique Eldar aura making Emrys' heart pound.
"If the problem you're facing currently cannot be solved, then just put it aside for now. If it can be solved, then there's even less need to worry."
"Isn't that just typical self-comfort and avoiding problems?" Emrys said, torn between laughter and tears.
"No." Hilda shook her head.
"This isn't avoidance, nor is it self-comfort. And I believe in you—no matter what difficulties lie ahead, you will definitely overcome them!"
Facing Hilda's inexplicable trust, Emrys also felt very strange.
"You trust me that much? Why?"
"Because you are the first person to change the future." Hilda's slender hands cupped his face, looking directly into the shocked Emrys' eyes.
"So I believe in you, no matter what difficulties there are, nothing can stop you!"
"Even the Chaos Four Gods?"
Emrys asked.
"Exactly!" Hilda's eyes seemed to sparkle with stars, full of trust, as if she were looking at an idol.
"I believe in you, so you must also believe in yourself!"
This was beyond Emrys' expectation. He hadn't realized that his standing in Hilda's heart was so high!
A moment later, a smile reappeared on his face.
"Thank you, Hilda. Although your comfort isn't very useful, it has made me understand a principle."
What Chaos Four Gods, what schemes and tricks!
If they have the guts, they should come at him. At worst, they'll both end up battered and bruised, destroyed together!
Fear is human instinct, but courage is humanity's anthem!
"Thanks."
Emrys spoke with genuine emotion, thanking Hilda's words for helping him find direction.
"Don't thank me." sister Hilda also showed a smile, looking radiant and bright.
Boom!!!
Suddenly, the battleship experienced a violent tremor!
Emrys was almost thrown off, and Hilda was also shaken off balance, falling into his arms.
This was their first intimate contact.
But Emrys felt no secret delight; instead, he nervously asked the machine spirit to report what was happening outside the Excalibur in the Warp.
"Unidentified energy influence detected!"
"Warning! Warning!"
"Fleet caught in a massive Warp storm!"
From the instruments flashing with dazzling red light and the frantic values, one could intuitively see how terrifying the Warp was where the battleship was currently located!
To put it another way, they were now like a ship swept away by a world-ending flood, with the possibility of capsizing at any moment!
Finally, they couldn't escape it!
Emrys couldn't help but sigh. His unlucky constitution, after a brief calm of over ten days, still attracted a Warp storm!
"Activate the 'Eternity Furnace'!" Emrys made a decisive command.
At the start of the voyage, Emrys had brought along the 'Eternity Furnace' partly to prevent accidents and partly to guard against his unlucky constitution.
He hadn't expected to use it so quickly!
"Eternity Furnace activating, locating Warp, initiating forced jump immediately!"
Suddenly, in the violently shaking, seemingly twisted Warp outside, the Excalibur and the Flaming Fury, two battleships, were enveloped in a brilliant blue light and instantly vanished from the very center of the storm.
Amidst the harsh alarms from the machine spirit, they were "flung" out of the Warp.
"Locate current coordinates!"
Having just gained a brief moment of respite, Emrys immediately asked the Traveler for their current position.
But the answer he received made Emrys freeze for a few seconds, then his expression turned extremely grim.
This was not a familiar star system.
Nor was it any black zone recorded in the Yellow astrogation charts.
In other words, their fleet had completely deviated from its intended course shortly after departure, flung by the Warp storm into a completely unknown region!
"It must be those four old bastards again!"
Emrys gritted his teeth in anger. Every time he entered the Warp, an accident almost always occurred.
Thinking about it now, it definitely had something to do with the Chaos Four Gods, especially that damned old schemer, Tzeentch, who was the most likely culprit!
But anger aside, they were currently in a black zone, and a completely unknown one at that, neither within the Imperium's explored discoveries nor in the family's star map records.
The only way was to wait for the Warp storm to subside, then re-enter the Warp and re-establish their course based on star map coordinates.
"Respected Captain, Lord Emrys, a life world has been discovered ahead. Should an exploration team be dispatched?"
The Traveler's voice came through the comms array.
At the same time, the outer hull's battleship deck rose, revealing the appearance of that life world to Emrys and the others.
It was a pink world!
