At the entrance of the Typhon Building, Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Professor X, and Jean Grey were all present.
Logan frowned as he looked at the building in front of him: "Where is this place? What's Mary doing here?"
The professor originally intended for Wolverine Logan to stay at Xavier's College, since Magneto was looking for him, but he insisted on coming.
"What, can't you read? It's clearly written here, Typhon Building," Laser-Eye Scott replied.
"Then why don't you tell us why Mary came here?" Wolverine glanced at him sideways.
"We'll know once we find her," Scott retorted.
"You're saying that sounds nice..."
"Okay, stop arguing."
Storm stopped Wolverine from retaliating, her brow furrowed as she looked at the building before her: "I have a feeling we're going to be in big trouble today."
Professor Charles easily found the little rascal's figure in the doorman's memory, and led the group to the top floor as if they were in an empty place.
The elevator doors opened, revealing a large, luxurious sofa in the lobby, where a young man was sitting.
Upon seeing them arrive, the young man raised his glass and said with a smile, "It seems my security system is as rotten as a pile of shit. Welcome, the famous X-Men."
Oh, and Professor, you're not allowed to enter my brain!
"Who are you? Do you know us?" Charles asked curiously, out of respect, he did not immediately attempt to read other people's memories.
Vane shook his head and smiled, "I am Theodore Vane. In fact, I can be considered one of your kind."
He controlled the bottle to float in the air and poured some wine into the glass.
"Are you a mutant too?" Scott stepped forward.
"You can think of me as a mutant, but mutant abilities are only one part of my abilities. I also have many other powers that you cannot imagine."
"What do you mean?" Scott asked, frowning.
Van En smiled and said, "I am stronger than you, have higher goals, care more about more, and contribute more to humanity. That's what I mean."
Out of respect for his fellow human beings, Scott did not immediately refute him, but secretly wondered if this person had something wrong with his head.
The others exchanged bewildered glances, but Wolverine wasn't so patient: "Stop talking nonsense. I don't care. Where's Rogue?"
"Do you really care about Rogue?" Vann walked up to Wolverine, shook his head and laughed, "Even if you find her, what can you do?"
"Of course I'll take her back to the academy. I brought her here, and I have to take responsibility for her!"
Logan!
"You just stabbed her through the neck, and then Xavier Academy kicked her out. Now you're saying you want to take responsibility for her and bring her back to the academy?" Vann shouted.
What are we going to do with him? Stab him again?
Wolverine was instantly enraged, and his steel claws shot out, gripping Vane's neck.
"Logan!"
The professor stopped Wolverine and turned to look at Vane solemnly: "Mr. Vane, I hope you understand that Logan had no intention of hurting Rogue."
Xavier Academy's goal has always been to protect all mutants; we would never expel anyone. There must be some misunderstanding.
Vane rolled his eyes. Of course there was a misunderstanding, because the Iceman Poppy who chased away the mischievous boy was Mystique in disguise, and your big head is about to be in trouble.
He paid no attention to Wolverine's claws and turned to Charles: "Professor, there's a question I've always wanted to ask you: can your Xavier Academy really protect these mutant children indefinitely?"
"Of course, that's the significance of my founding of the Academy and the formation of the X-Men."
"If there were a better place than the Academy, a place more suitable for mutants, would you allow them to leave?"
Charles was taken aback, then shook his head and said, "There is no place better than Xavier's College!"
"Oh my God!"
Van En feigned surprise and exclaimed, "Is this the real, living, breathing Pu Xin Nan? Why are you so confident?"
Upon hearing this, the professor's face darkened, Wolverine silently withdrew his claws, Scott looked up at the sky, and Storm looked at her fingernails.
Jean coughed twice: "How can you say that about the professor? He has done so much for mutants! What have you done? What right do you have to say that?"
Van En took two steps back casually, pointed, and a portal instantly formed: "I won't tell you what I've done for mutants, but I'll let you know what I can do for mutants!"
The crowd looked at the portal, but they weren't that shocked.
They've seen all sorts of fancy and incredible abilities.
Logan even scoffed, "I'm sure this is a trap, we won't fall for it!"
Van En stepped halfway into the portal and sneered, "I thought you'd be braver. Since that's the case, don't bother Little Rascal anymore, and don't talk about taking responsibility for anyone!"
Putting himself in their shoes, Vann would never have entered such a dubious portal, but luckily the other side had Wolverine.
A man who thinks he won't die and therefore always disregards life and death can get a crazed red-eyed wolverine by just a few provocations. The wolverine will definitely rush up and paw at him without any hesitation.
Sure enough, the enraged Wolverine didn't say a word. He extended his claws, kicked off with his legs, and, completely disregarding any traps, stabbed straight at Fan Enfei.
"Logan!" Scott called out, but it was too late to stop him.
"That madman! He knew it was a trap!" Storm exclaimed urgently. "Professor, why didn't you stop him?"
Charles frowned. "No, I tried to stop Theodore Vane, but I didn't succeed."
Scott paused for a moment: "He also has telepathy? But what he just demonstrated was telekinesis."
"Is he like me?" Qin asked.
She possesses not only telepathic abilities but also mental power, or rather, telekinesis.
Charles said gravely, "I sensed that his body was surrounded by an impenetrable wall of steel. I have never seen such a powerful mental force before. It far exceeds my understanding and left me no time to stop Logan."
"What do we do now? If he's that powerful, Logan is in danger," Storm said worriedly.
Charles thought for a moment, then sighed, "I can't abandon Logan. You stay here, I'll go check on him."
Storm, Scott, and Jean all voiced their opposition, arguing that Professor Xavier was the core of the X-Men and that without him, neither the X-Men nor Xavier's Academy would exist.
After much debate, a conclusion was reached.
Scott stopped Storm and Jean: "Ladies, you stay outside and prepare to support us. The professor and I will go in and rescue Logan, then return immediately!"
On the other side, after Wolverine passed through the portal, he arrived at a small pavilion atop the base. It was sunset, and the evening glow made for a beautiful scene.
Van En stood not far away. The instant Wolverine crossed over, he sensed that he had mastered his power, still the ultimate version, almost to the point of being able to regenerate from a drop of blood!
He was in a good mood and, before Logan could pounce on him, he said, "Wait, I apologize for what I just said. I shouldn't have said that to you. Actually, you are a responsible and good person. I was just talking nonsense."
Wolverine stood there, unsure of what to say. He was a little confused, unsure whether to teach the man a lesson or accept his apology.
Before he could react, Vann took two steps forward, pointed to the town below the mountain, and said to Wolverine, "Rogue is in town. There's a big bonfire party there, and she's been invited to join."
I want to see it with my own eyes!
"etc."
Wolverine was about to head down the mountain when Van called him back.
"You want to stop me?" As he spoke, his steel claws shot out again.
Fan En pointed helplessly to the open portal: "Aren't you curious whether they'll come to rescue you?"
