Chapter 3 - The Academy

'Sigh.. Should i start adapting? Oh yeah.. I need to go to the academy..' Heimfher raised his upper half and looked at the wardrobe that was still slightly open, there's another pair of the school uniform, most likely his.

When he was about to stand up from the bed, Heimfher accidentally stumbled upon a solid object under his hand.

"Hm?.." He wondered what it was, the object was covered by the bedsheet, and Heimfher had to pull it out of the way so that he can see the solid object.

Swoosh!

Cling..

"T- this is.." Heimfher left his mouth open out of shock as he saw with his own eyes, a small glass bottle that was not even the size of a tennis ball.

The bottle still had some liquids inside of it, with a portion of it spilled to the bed, making it wet.

While Heimfher was confused as to what the bottle could be since there was no indication or symbols that could possibly meant something, he suddenly felt his nose constricting after smelling the pungent smell that came from the liquid inside the bottle.

"UGH!" He grunted before covering his nose and mouth. "I think i know what this is—

"This is a poison!— Heimfher, really killed himself.. And i took over his dead body.."

The smell of the poison was starting to become even more unbearable as it escapes into the air, unlike before where it was blocked by the bedsheet fabric.

"There's a chance that the poison may be effective just by sniffing it.." Heimfher said, he quickly grabbed the lid that was laying not far away from the glass bottle and closed it tight. "Shit.. What time is it?!"

Heimfher looked at the grandfather clock that was sitting at the corner of the room, the hands were pointed towards 7:45 in the morning.

"Almost 8.." He said, he wasn't sure if he should be relieved or not, but his doubt soon was devoured by realization after Heimfher remembered that the academy lesson starts exactly at 8. "W- WAIT.. The lesson is about to start!!"

Knowing that the academy is about to start its lesson, Heimfher immediately took off his clothes and changed into his uniform, after spending 3 minutes changing, he had to make sure if there's nothing that he missed, so he spends 2 minutes looking at every corner of the room.

"—Okay, there doesn't seem to be anything worth looking.. I should get going.." Heimfher said as he walked towards the door and opened it.

.

.

Embroidered with the accessories of the academy and the elegant uniform that was given to him, Heimfher strolled on the city street casually with a little satchel on his waist.

With each step he took, he was mesmerized by the city scenery and everything in it, the houses architecture looked somewhat medieval, but they're not using wood, but instead mostly limestone, Heimfher's current resident was at an inn that wasn't very far away from the academy, the inn had worked together with the academy to turn it into a student exclusive inn, the student however have to pay each month for living at the inn, similar to how renting works, as to how they can get the money for it—

'The academy had a ranking system based on the student's performance, since its a swordmanship academy, the more proficient you are at holding the sword, the higher you are in the rank and classes.. I don't remember Heimfher's rank.. Does that mean i still haven't got all of his memories?'

'Speaking of it.. I remembered the inn costed 6 silvers per month..' Heimfher looked through his memories and found out that he was living in an inn, despite living with his roommates, Heimfher had to pay 70% of the inn cost per month, totaling to 4 silvers while Ravi only had to pay 2.

He then opened his satchel and saw the few coins that he brought in it, there's roughly only 4 silvers worth of coins, and those coins were given by his mother as his monthly allowance.

'It seems like.. I landed the number 1 on the dice..' Heimfher thought, his heart tighten from all of the worries that might happen in the future.

Heimfher walked for approximately 10 minutes, which at some point he began running after he realized that he won't make it in time if he kept walking. He passed by countless civilians, some wearing normal tunics and dresses, while others dressed elegantly with long coat and tophats. Despite not focusing on the passing civilians, Heimfher couldn't help but notice that this new world he just got reincarnated into, looked like a chaotic mix of the medieval and the victorian era.

Heimfher arrived at the academy just as it was about to close off its gate, the giant clock on a nearby tower showed the time ticking at 7:59 and its long hand soon ticked at the 12, changing the time to exactly 8 o'clock.

A stoic guards greeted Heimfher at the gate, he was wearing a black coat with a sword on his waist while hiding his white shirt underneath and a tie.

"G- good morning.." Heimfher tried to wave his hand and talk to the guard.

The guard didn't respond to Heimfher's morning greet, but he vaguely nodded while staring at him, it seems like he accepted Heimfher's presence and decided not to scold him for almost arriving late.

Seeing as the guard didn't say anything to him, Heimfher then ignored the stern man and continue his walk to the academy, after he entered the gate, he saw a vast garden that stretches far wide into the distance, and infront of him, as he was following the brick road, a massive building that looked more like a castle stood firmly and towering over the other buildings that were obstructed by a wall.

'I- isn't this thing a bit too luxurious.. I thought Heimfher was living in poverty..' Heimfher said to himself, only after he saw the academy that his memories of walking on the brick road beneath him everyday rushes in like an unexpected wave.

'He managed to enroll here because of his mother.. What would happen if she knew that her only hope had just killed himself.. And was possesed by someone from another world..'

Heimfher temporarily stood motionlessly, his eyes were locked into the grandiose academy, ignoring the other students that were passing beside him, some stared at Heimfher, others couldn't care less about what he was doing, and some whispered quietly.

"What the hell is that guy doing standing there.. Did he hit his head?" A girl whispered to her friend group.

"Isn't he from class 2-E? The one that got the lowest ranking in the entire academy?.." Another person whispered, his mocking tone and constant chuckling made his voice impossible to go unnoticed.

Hearing all of the whispers and the mockery towards Heimfher, he himself felt pressurized by the insults, Heimfher looked down soon after he stared at the academy building and slowly moved forward.

'Shit.. I knew it, i knew it.. What did they say? Lowest ranking?.. The fact i was poor, enrolled in a prestigious academy.. The previous Heimfher killing himself.. And all of that whispers— Heimfher, is a failure.. And he, doesn't have any talent in swordmanship—

'You're telling me.. I have to survive, and live as this guy?.. Don't make me laugh, to whoever or whatever being that sent me that game notification– Is this an entertainment for you? I never did anything wrong in my previous life, and now i have to endure all of this.. Fuck, like hell i would accept that! Just you wait.. If what you wanted was me achieving Godhood, then i will give you exactly that.'

At that moment, Heimfher's face turned dreadful, his gaze was cold and his mouth frowned with hatred.

Time passed and before Heimfher realized it, he was already inside of his classroom, with a teacher infront of him that was explaining about how to wield a sword.

.

.

"A sword isn't a weapon that can be easily mastered, im sure all of you knew that." The teacher said, his voice sounded gentle yet also stern, as if he was demanding full attention towards him. "To start knowing how a sword works, you first will have to know how to wields it, what position does your hand have to be in order to use every inch of the sword? How should you hold it? Is it using two hands? Or one? No matter how you hold it, a great swordsman will be able to instantly tell if their hands was holding their sword wrong or not."

Heimfher watched as he focused on the teacher's explanation, his right elbow leaned on the table below him while his palm was used to support his head.

'It's been an hour now since the lesson started.. And many of the previous Heimfher's memories have appeared in my head again.. Thankfully the pain this time isn't as bad as before and i could keep a straight face the entire time, but this new memories.. It's straight up just telling me that im fucked.'
