When Raditz and the others exited the spaceship, the battlefield in the distance had gone strangely quiet.
Bardock and Frieza stood facing each other on separate meteorites.
Bardock's Glory Helmet was gone. His battle armor was torn to shreds, barely hanging from his body. Yet his breathing was steady, and his eyes were sharp.
"To be honest," Bardock said calmly, "a Saiyan's Great Ape form increases battle power tenfold from the base. I believe you've already experienced that firsthand."
Frieza snorted.
"Hmph. At best, it only matches my current power. What's there to be proud of?"
Bardock chuckled.
"You're right. Sixty million isn't worth bragging about."
His expression hardened.
"But you, Frieza, are dying here today. I said it before—even if the Supreme Kai came, he wouldn't be able to save you."
Frieza's eyes narrowed.
"We'll see who dies first."
He paused, then asked suddenly, "Are you a Super Saiyan?"
The legend of the Super Saiyan had haunted the Frost Demon Clan for generations. It was a sword hanging above their heads.
Frieza needed to know.
"No."
The moment Bardock answered, Frieza lunged forward.
"You're not a Super Saiyan, yet you dare act so arrogant?!"
Bardock grabbed Frieza's head mid-charge and slammed it into the meteor beneath them.
"Why can't I be arrogant if I'm not one?"
He drove Frieza downward, smashing through multiple drifting rocks before hurling him away.
Energy blasts rained from Bardock's hands like machine-gun fire.
"You damn monkey!" Frieza roared while dodging. "Is that all?"
"Keep talking," Bardock shot back. "You'll be begging soon."
Frieza vanished and reappeared behind him with a vicious kick.
"Begging? You're dreaming!"
They clashed again, fists and kicks tearing through space.
Frieza gathered massive energy between his palms.
"You naive fool!"
Bardock answered with his own surge of power.
"Your doomsday is here!"
The two energy waves collided, warping space with violent ripples.
Using the explosion as cover, Bardock quietly swallowed a Senzu Bean.
Then he shot forward.
Before Frieza could react, Bardock grabbed him by the head and lifted him effortlessly.
Point-blank energy blasts detonated against Frieza's body one after another.
Moments later, Frieza was thrown like garbage onto a meteor.
Bardock's massive Great Ape foot pressed down on his head.
"How does it feel?" Bardock said coldly. "I told you—you're dying today."
Frieza coughed blood but forced a desperate grin.
"Wait. I still have greater power. Don't you want to experience it? Perhaps… this is your chance to break through."
For survival, he temporarily discarded the dignity of an emperor.
Bardock paused.
One hundred and twenty million battle power.
Twice his Great Ape level.
If he killed Frieza now, finding another opponent strong enough to push him toward Super Saiyan would be nearly impossible.
Cold and Cooler were far stronger. Challenging them recklessly would likely end with Bardock as a corpse.
After a moment of thought, Bardock kicked Frieza away.
"Hurry up."
Frieza staggered to his feet and began powering up violently.
His body cracked like porcelain. Countless fissures spread across him, white energy leaking out like steam.
Watching from a distance, Bardock finally understood.
Sixty million was already the limit Frieza could safely control at this stage of his life.
Unlike the Namek battle decades later, this Frieza wasn't fully matured.
Frieza bared his teeth.
"I'll kill you quickly… then return to my home planet to freeze and heal. This is all your fault, you damned wild monkey."
"Remember my name," Bardock said calmly. "Bardock. King of the Saiyans. When you meet King Yemma, tell him who sent you."
Frieza sneered.
"Big talk."
Bardock crossed his arms.
"I'm waiting."
Frieza's aura exploded again.
At the same time, Bardock's blood-red Great Ape eyes began shifting—slowly turning pale white.
This was something Bardock had discovered while studying the S-Cells in his body.
Beyond the S-Cells, he had found another type of cell—filled with pure murderous intent and destruction.
The first time he activated it, he nearly wiped out Planet Vegeta.
Now—
He layered that state—Demonic Transformation—over his Great Ape form.
Instantly, his sixty million battle power doubled.
One hundred and twenty million.
Dark, violent emotions flooded his mind—battle lust, slaughter, annihilation.
Struggling to maintain control, Bardock roared toward the distant onlookers:
"Paragus! Take Raditz and leave immediately!"
Seeing his terrifying state, Paragus didn't hesitate.
The royal ship retreated at full speed.
Once they were safely gone—
Bardock let go.
He embraced the violent tide completely.
His blank eyes fixed on Frieza.
For the first time—
Frieza felt his desire to kill… falter.
Instinctively, he hurled a massive energy sphere toward Bardock, then fled toward his spaceship.
The blast struck Bardock directly.
He didn't move.
His enormous ape head slowly turned toward the Artificial Moon.
An overwhelming urge rose within him.
Devour it.
Without conscious thought, he did.
The Artificial Moon vanished.
As it disappeared, Bardock's Great Ape form dissolved.
His body shrank back to human size.
Then—
A golden aura erupted around him.
It burned like blazing flames.
His hair rose skyward, turning brilliant gold.
His eyes sharpened, fierce and majestic.
The violent aura transformed into something purer, more dominant—like a force that could crush the heavens themselves.
Frieza froze mid-flight.
The pressure behind him had changed completely.
A new power had been born.
And it was far beyond his understanding.
