When they arrived at Green Garden, it was already very late at night. Julian told Scarlett to freshen up and get some rest. His tone sounded calm and flat, as if there was nothing hidden beneath it.
Scarlett let out a sigh of relief after hearing his instruction. Somehow, ever since they had started living under the same roof, there was an uneasiness she couldn't quite explain. She was afraid Julian would keep talking to her or demand something from her every night. But it turned out her assumption was wrong. She had been overthinking.
Without thinking about anything else, Scarlett went straight to take a shower and get ready for bed. Half an hour later, she stepped out of the bathroom. Warm water always managed to calm her body and mind, slowly washing away the tension.
