Ashrik's reaction was quick. His hand shot forward, catching Lucille by the waist before she fell to the ground. At the same time, the air around them stirred.
He cast a quick swirl of wind, lifting the egg before it could hit the dirt and break beyond repair. The smooth brown shell floated mid-air, turning gently in the soft current he controlled.
"You okay?"
Ashrik looked down at Lucille, his hand still around her waist. She blinked, was still startled before realizing what had happened.
"I'm okay..." she murmured, cheeks slightly flushed as she looked up at him. "Ahaha... You caught the egg."
Ashrik exhaled quietly. After making sure Lucille was standing steadily, he handed her the egg. Then, he turned to the two dogs, eyes narrowing slightly.
Dobby and Ponyo had been standing upright from the moment Ashrik caught Lucille. Their fluffy ears and bushy tails drooped low, as if they knew the huge trouble they had almost caused.
"Dobby, Ponyo," he called, voice firm.
