"The Androids didn't show up?"
"Mm."
Krillin nodded.
"Then it's probably because history has already changed!"
"In that case," Bulma said calmly, "if you really want to know where Dr. Gero is, you don't actually need the Dragon Balls. I already know where that guy is."
"You know?!" Krillin and the others were stunned.
"Yeah!" Bulma nodded.
"Then why didn't you tell us earlier?!" Krillin felt completely speechless.
"But you never asked," Bulma snapped. "And Vegeta kept saying he wanted to defeat the Androids with his own hands, so I didn't say anything."
"What does that have to do with Vegeta?" Krillin asked.
"Of course it does!" Bulma said angrily.
"When I saw Vegeta training like his life depended on it, I suggested we find Dr. Gero and eliminate him before the Androids were even finished. But he refused! He insisted on facing Dr. Gero himself!"
"I… see." Krillin laughed awkwardly. That really did sound like Vegeta.
Vegeta snorted coldly, "Bulma. Where is Dr. Gero right now?"
Bulma immediately told him the location of Dr. Gero's laboratory.
Boom!
The instant Vegeta heard it, he shot off like a cannonball.
"Bulma," Krillin asked as they watched Vegeta vanish, "how did you even find Dr. Gero's lab?"
"It's thanks to Gohan's company," Bulma replied.
"Gohan's company?"
"Yeah. One of his employees ran into it while out on business."
"On business?"
"Promoting phones and apps."
"…I get it."
"Mm."
Bulma nodded.
"Piccolo, should we go too?" Krillin asked.
"Mm."
Piccolo nodded.
"I'll come as well," Tien Shinhan said.
With that, the four of them left the island.
Dr. Gero's Laboratory
Inside the lab, Dr. Gero was examining Android 19's control core.
Suddenly, his expression changed.
He saw that the command protocol had been altered.
Eliminate Dr. Gero. Obey Son Gohan.
"Son… Gohan?!" Dr. Gero was furious.
Now he finally understood why Android 19 had disobeyed him and tried to kill him.
It had all been tampered with by Son Gohan. Just then, footsteps echoed outside.
Dr. Gero's heart skipped.
The lab's main door was suddenly blown open.
A proud figure stood in the ruined doorway.
It was Vegeta.
"Vegeta!" Dr. Gero's face turned pale.
He wasn't afraid of Vegeta himself—but none of his Androids obeyed him anymore.
If Vegeta destroyed the lab, years of work would be lost.
Vegeta snorted coldly, "So you're Dr. Gero?"
"I'm not Dr. Gero," the man replied quickly, "I am Android 20—the Android he created."
"Oh," Vegeta responded indifferently, "Then where is Dr. Gero?"
"I don't know," The man shook his head.
"Then where are Androids 17 and 18?"
Dr. Gero froze.
How does he know about Androids 17 and 18? Did Son Gohan tell him?!
"Hey!" Vegeta snapped.
"I asked you a question."
"I don't know," Dr. Gero shook his head again.
Vegeta's eyes narrowed, "Then what's that behind you?"
He stared at the stasis pods behind Dr. Gero. Vegeta wasn't stupid enough to be fooled.
"This…" Dr. Gero hesitated.
Just then, four figures landed outside the lab.
It was Krillin and the others.
"Krillin!" Seeing that neither Goku nor Gohan had come, Dr. Gero felt puzzled.
At that moment, Vegeta stepped past him, heading toward the pods.
Dr. Gero lunged forward instinctively.
He couldn't let Vegeta activate them.
If Androids 17 and 18 woke up, everything would spiral out of control.
Vegeta twisted aside effortlessly and laughed.
"So you're an Android too, huh? Fine—then I'll warm up with you!"
I can't fight him here…
Dr. Gero made a quick decision.
"Fine. Let's take this outside."
"Hah. You pick the place."
Vegeta smirked.
Dr. Gero immediately flew out of the lab.
Krillin and the others stepped aside as he passed.
"Piccolo," Krillin whispered, "did Vegeta just say he's an Android?"
"Mm."
Piccolo nodded.
"Probably another one Dr. Gero created."
"Should we watch?"
"Mm."
They followed.
Seeing them leave the lab, Dr. Gero felt relieved.
At least they weren't going to activate Androids 17 and 18.
For once, luck seemed to be on his side.
Nearby Island
"Whoosh—"
"Tap."
Dr. Gero and Vegeta landed on a deserted island.
Krillin's group arrived moments later.
Vegeta glanced around.
"So this is the grave you picked for yourself?"
Dr. Gero snorted, "Whose grave it is… remains to be seen!"
"Oh?" Vegeta sneered, "The more confident someone is, the more tragic their death."
Dr. Gero laughed coldly, "Are you talking about yourself, Vegeta?"
"You'll find out soon enough."
"Ha!"
Vegeta clenched his fists.
Golden light erupted from his body.
His hair turned gold, eyes light green, and an overwhelming aura burst outward.
"W-What is this?!" Dr. Gero was shocked.
His data contained no record of this transformation.
Vegeta grinned, "This is called Super Saiyan."
"Super… Saiyan?!"
