Paros's expression darkened.
"When I first met her, I could already tell—she's a female who knows how to take care of herself. Independent. Self-sufficient. She doesn't need me to devote my attention to her."
"And besides," he continued coolly, "I never planned to form a bond. My goal is to unify the interstellar realm."
Hearing this, Ethan was so furious he nearly passed out on the spot. "Fine. Fine. Very well!"
He felt there was nothing more to say. "Lord Paros, since you believe there's no need to place your heart on Female Rory, and you only care about unifying the interstellar realm, then listen to me.
"From this moment on, stop having any contact with Female Rory whatsoever. She can live her good life, and you can pursue your grand ambitions."
Paros didn't feel relieved at all after hearing this. Instead, the tightness in his chest worsened.
He looked at Ethan, his voice growing colder. "I don't think you're helping me. It sounds more like you're mocking me."
