When Xarion brought it up, Rory immediately remembered. She had slept for three full days this time—she had delayed soothing him.
"Then let's go to your room now," she said decisively. "I'll soothe you first."
There was still some time before the Merfolk elders arrived.
Yuel rose to his feet. "I'll go help Vincent prepare lunch."
Xarion stood up from the sofa and walked to Rory's side. "Female Master, let's go."
Rory nodded and turned toward his room.
She had noticed that during his rutting period, Xarion seemed… more alive than usual. A little less distant. A little less hollow.
But when she reached his door and pushed it open, she froze.
Her eyes widened.
