Rai was back home.
He had just finished washing up, cleaning the kitchen until everything was in its place, every surface wiped down like he was trying to scrub something out of his own head. Now he sat on the sofa in the living room, a stack of students' books resting on his lap.
Unopened.
Ignored.
Because his eyes were glued to his phone.
And his mind...
His mind was stuck on one thing.
'Should I open it? Should I not?'
His thumb hovered over the screen, tense.
'He didn't send anything after that…'
That somehow made it worse.
The silence.
The waiting.
The not knowing.
Rai exhaled slowly, jaw tightening.
"…For God's sake."
After far too much pointless thinking, he straightened slightly.
He had decided.
For his own good.
He will open it.
He couldn't stand the curiosity anymore. Or this ridiculous… hesitation.
Cowardiness...
Because that's what this was, right?
