Still, Rai wasn't going to change his plans.
Alas, it wasn't that bad, though he couldn't help a few muttered complaints along the way. After flagging down a taxi, he stepped out at the local electronics store.
He made quick work of choosing what he needed, signed the necessary warranty and delivery paperwork after the staff confirmed they would ship everything directly to his house by tomorrow afternoon, and stepped back out into the sun.
Next up was grocery shopping.
As Rai pushed a squeaky metallic cart through the quiet aisles of the supermarket, his mind drifted back to Zade. He couldn't help but remember the last time Zade had come along with him on a run like this.
That was right before they had gotten into that stupid fight. Ever since then, the old habit had returned: Rai went shopping alone, and Zade simply left a stack of neat, crisp folded bills on top of the fridge for expenses.
On one hand, Zade is always so generous.
