Lucen's POV
I glanced at my brother Draven, the same scowl on my face slapped onto his.
Honestly, since the time I've known doctor Daniel, he's been one to always court death.
I knew that. My brothers did, but this time he was crossing a line.
"Are you saying we would intentionally harm an helpless omega?" I asked slowly, narrowing my eyes dangerously at him.
Anyone with brains would know it wasn't safe to mess with us right now, but Daniel always gave us enough reasons to question his sanity.
"I am not accusing you guys or anything, but this Omega's state is worse than when I had left her, and it's barely been two hours since I checked on her." He insisted, locking eyes with us.
"You have got to be kidding me." I heard my brother say under his breath, watching him run a hand through his perfectly combed hair.
Draven's words were mine exactly.
How could he think we could do such a thing?
Although we were bastards. Heartless ones, we weren't that bad to actually hurt someone without reason.
Just thinking about the state I had even met the omega in made me frown.
Before I came to her, I was cleaning up the last bit of mess we caused in the torture room, grumbling about as I did.
I was done, ready to head back to my room when I decided to check up on her.
It had been a spell I think. Because for what reason would I be checking up on her in the first place?
But then again, if I didn't, she might have been worse.
Thinking back to the vomit on the ground, and how her body spasmed uncontrollably, I didn't know what to think.
At that moment I froze.
Vomit was everywhere, along with the scent of blood.
By the corner, was the gold haired omega, her lips pale and bloodless, slick running down her thighs, as she cried pitifully without a sound.
"You don't understand!" Daniel huffed, probably at something my brother might have said while I wasn't paying attention. "I already warned his highness Kael about this, and yet it happened! This omega might die in your hands!"
He shouted, his outburst met with blank stares.
Honestly, I had no idea what I was feeling.
Hearing that she might die put me in a very complicated feeling though.
Growing up, I had always prayed to the moon goddess to give us a mate. A special one at that.
I was young.
Being told tales of how precious mates were and how much bliss it brought you and your wolf, made me hopeful.
I was naive, young and gullible, so I believed. I prayed. Even begged the moon goddess.
It was absurd to think she answered.
She did though. She blessed me with a special mate— ironically dumping an omega baggage to us for a mate.
"Stop acting like it's a big deal." Draven said, cutting the doctor before he could cough out blood. "We only had sex with her because she's in her heat, so she won't die. It's normal for omegas."
Daniel's face turned pale. "You mean all three of you?"
"No." I answered this time. Bored as I held up my fingers. "Two of us."
His eyes flickered to the two of us, a painful noise leaving his lips. "Do you guys take me for a fool?!"
"Apparently, yes." I shrugged, watching his face turn crimson.
"You might think this is a joke, but it isn't." He said. "I have been in this profession since I was little, and I know wounds that result from too much sex. This is right here." He pointed to the huge purple bruise on the Omega's left shoulder. "Does not look like something that comes from that. So I'll ask again. Did you hurt her?"
Rage burns in my chest, as I snarl at him. "Dare you speak to us that way Daniel? Have you forgotten so soon who we are or do you like a reminder?"
His face instantly lost all color, and he lowered his head in fear. "I am sorry, your highness."
My eyes flickered deeply, my wolf almost slipping out for control at the disrespect, but I forced him away.
Knowing it was best to leave, I turned my back, heading for the door. "Instead of trying to find out what caused that wound, you'd better treat her instead. That is your job isn't it?"
"Y–yes your highness." He stammered, bowing as I passed him.
From the corner of my eyes, I watched him straighten, a deep resolve in his eyes. "However, your highness, I won't touch her until I speak with his highness Kael."
I halted mid-step, turning to face him slowly.
My chest rumbled with a furious growl, but before I could lash out, someone beat me to it.
The omega in the bed sprung awake, her eyes searching the room. "Where is Kael? Why isn't he here with me?"
Daniel moved to the bed in shock, trying to calm her down. "His highness is on his way here, don't worry, lay down for a few minutes and you'll see him."
"Liar." She screamed, thrashing. "Get away from me. Kael!"
Scowling, I moved towards her, my brother already pinning her down before I joined in.
However this time, her thrashing was much worse than before.
"Quick, inject her again!" I ordered, Daniel jabbing the needle in her skin again.
A minute later, her limbs went slack, as she fell asleep.
Daniel's look turned solemn. "The injection would only last one hour, and it would have a side effect on her heat, making it worse than it already is."
"Can't you just jab another needle into her?" Draven asked, irritated.
I stared at Daniel, my expression blank, as if asking the same thing with my brother.
Daniel, oh the ever brave doctor, scowled at us. "Three is the maximum dosage for an omega in heat, and I have already done that. Anymore, and she'll really die of overheating."
"I think it's better you both start talking before she wakes us, because I won't touch her."
