It was rumored that a meteorite had once fallen somewhere within Moonlight Mountain.
Raj always thought it was just a local legend — until now.
Standing before the enormous stone embedded in the cave floor, he could tell immediately that the rumors were true.
The meteorite wasn't a myth. It was right here.

For example, Clefairy evolves into Clefable, Nidorino into Nidoking, and Jigglypuff into Wigglytuff.

Even without the system's explanation, Raj knew perfectly well what a Moon Stone was.
"How many points can I recycle this for?" he asked.

Raj's eyes widened. "One hundred and twenty thousand points?!"
That was a massive haul.
"Recycle it. Now!"
Without hesitation, Raj activated the system's recovery command.
In an instant, the massive Moon Stone dissolved into sparkling dust and vanished.
The cave fell silent again — filled only with the faint groans of fainted Pokémon scattered across the floor.
"There's a ton of them down here," Raj said.
"Haunter, this place is all yours. I'll go grab some Paralyze Powder from outside to make sure they don't wake up.
You're immune to it anyway, so just stay here and feast until you're full. Let's see how strong you can get."
The cave was deep in Moonlight Mountain — remote and unvisited. Perfect for Haunter to train and grow stronger by consuming the energy of the defeated Pokémon.
This was the Pokémon world, after all. Survival of the fittest.
It might sound cruel, but it was reality. Even humans ate Pokémon meat in some regions. Power determined everything.
Raj wasn't heartless — but strength mattered more than sentiment.
The world was dangerous. He needed his team to become powerful enough to survive whatever was coming.
He still remembered the event from the original timeline: the Giant Tentacruel Incident in Lampulchi City, where an enormous Tentacruel led an army of Tentacool to attack the city, causing massive destruction.
Half the city was wiped out before the Pokémon League intervened.
Things like that weren't rare here.
Luckily, the Kanto Pokémon League was formed early and employed many powerful trainers to subdue or eliminate dangerous Pokémon.
That's why Pokémon in this region were generally weaker.
After giving Haunter his orders, Raj exited the cave and activated both his Anesthetic Powder Blower and Love Smoke Maker near the entrance — just in case.
Once the cave was secured, he released Shiny Kakuna.
"Stay out here for a while," he said. "It'll help your next evolution."
The shiny cocoon twitched in acknowledgment and began to spin silk around the male researcher who'd been left tied up earlier, wrapping him tightly until he resembled a giant ball of yarn.
Raj kicked the silk ball off the slope of Moonlight Mountain with a smirk. "Don't get in my way. Go roll down and play."
Dusting off his hands, he returned to the airship.
Inside, Naomi was still asleep on the sofa. Her long hair draped across her face, giving her a peaceful, almost angelic look.
Raj glanced at her, then cracked open a drink from the supplies he'd picked up in Pewter City.
Feeling refreshed, he opened the System Points Mall.
Now that was more like it — he was rich.
After selling the Moon Stone, he had earned 120,000 points, and with the bonuses from earlier, his total balance reached 130,000 points.
He browsed through the categories — Technology, Pokémon, and Breeding.
The Pokémon section caught his eye first.
Kabuto (Fossil Pokémon) – 1,000,000 points
Hydreigon Hatchling – 3,500,000 points
Articuno Chick – 30,000,000 points
Giratina Egg – 30,000,000 points
Raj's jaw dropped. "...You've got to be kidding me. I just sold a mountain-sized Moon Stone, and I can't even afford a fossil baby?"
As he grumbled, another system message appeared.
[Ding! Points Mall Discount Event! Limited-time offer: Shiny Grimer — 80,000 points.]
"...A Shiny Grimer?" Raj muttered. "That's… not exactly impressive."
He still hadn't recovered from the disappointment of Shiny Beedle's evolution into the completely useless Kakuna.
Shiny or not, weak species were still weak. Buying one wasn't worth it.
But then—

Raj hesitated. "A special ability, huh…"
After a long pause, he sighed and pressed confirm purchase.
[Ding! Congratulations, host! You've obtained Shiny Grimer.
Special Ability: Fusion Power — Can merge with other Pokémon to grow stronger.]
A Poké Ball appeared in his system storage.
Raj smirked. "Fusion power? Now that's interesting."
By midnight, Haunter finally floated out of the cave, glowing faintly with newfound energy.
[Combat Power: 609
Evolution Progress: 20%]
Raj nodded in satisfaction. "Not bad at all."
Just then, Naomi stirred on the sofa, rolling over as her loose shirt slipped slightly to reveal smooth, porcelain skin beneath.
Raj blinked, caught off guard — right before she opened her eyes.
"Huh? Where am I?"
She froze.
Naomi looked around in confusion. Her eyes widened when she saw Raj.
"Who are you?! And why am I here?!" she demanded, standing up quickly — but as she did, she paused, her face turning pale.
Something about her body felt… strange.
