What appeared before them was not a natural cave at all. It was a massive hall constructed entirely from bluestone. The floor and walls were carved with countless crimson runes that emitted a chilling aura. Narrow trenches similar to canals crisscrossed the ground throughout the hall.
Yet what flowed through those channels was not water. It was thick, dark red blood.
When their gazes followed the direction of the trenches, the source quickly became clear.
All around the hall, countless figures were suspended against the walls. Their shoulder blades had been pierced by sharp iron hooks, leaving them hanging like lifeless merchandise on display. The sight was grotesque and horrifying enough to make anyone's heart shudder.
Fresh blood continued to drip from their bodies without pause. The crimson liquid flowed steadily down into the trenches below, then traveled along the channels toward the center of the hall.
At the center stood a large pool filled entirely with blood.
