Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: The System Task — Have a Child?

A new day had begun.

Steve Rogers stretched lazily, glancing at the rosy-faced, exhausted Pepper beside him. The satisfied smile on his face was impossible to hide.

There were no cows that died from exhaustion — only fields that were plowed too hard! The ancients were indeed wise.

Now that he had several wives, he had learned that time management was a skill every man needed to master.

But even the best time management had its limits. So, he thought — maybe it was time for another solution.

Have a child.

That thought lingered in his mind. Without children, life felt empty — like drifting without an anchor.

He craved a sense of belonging, a real family warmth.

If a man couldn't have children with the woman he loved, wasn't it just meaningless pleasure?

Besides, once his wives had children, they'd be busier caring for them… which meant more time for Steve to focus on his own goals.

Just as he was thinking about it—

"Ding! Mission triggered — 'First Child.'"

Mission: The First Child

Marriage is not the grave of love. Nurture it sincerely, and you will receive greater rewards.

Objective: Have your first child with any soulmate.

Reward: Soulmate effect upgraded.

Steve blinked, then grinned.

"This system is really shameless… but I like it."

Hell's Kitchen — Nelson & Murdock Law Office

Steve dropped by to settle the legal fees from his last case. After the Senate had slandered and defamed him, he'd hired Matt Murdock — Daredevil — as his attorney.

The door opened, revealing the blonde assistant, Karen Page.

Her long legs, wrapped in black stockings, looked flawless in black open-toe heels. Her bright red nail polish contrasted beautifully with her fair skin.

"Captain, please come in," she said politely.

"Thanks. I brought breakfast — some buns and soy milk. Let's eat together," Steve said, holding up the bag.

Only Eastern food could satisfy him these days.

"Thank you," Karen replied with a shy smile, unable to take her eyes off him.

Ever since Steve had saved her that night, she'd wanted to thank him properly. But the man was always busy — fighting vampires, helping the Hulk, and dealing with corporate conspiracies.

Karen laid a stack of paperwork on the table and moved closer, her perfume subtly filling the air.

"The legal fees and compensation have been finalized," she said. "Attorney fees total $3.66 million, and compensation awarded is $33.66 million. If everything looks fine, I'll transfer the remaining balance to your account."

"I trust you," Steve said simply, signing the papers without hesitation.

Karen was moved by his faith in her. Most people would have double-checked every line — but not Captain America.

He was wealthy, confident, and generous. And that made him dangerously charming.

"Karen," Steve said casually, "I want to hire you as my personal assistant to help with some private matters. Would you be interested?"

Karen's heart leapt, but she hesitated for a moment, recalling the rumors she'd heard.

Her fair cheeks flushed as she tilted her head.

"Captain… can I ask you something? Do you really have a lot of girlfriends?"

It was a fair question — most women couldn't accept a man who wasn't faithful.

But… if that man was Captain America, was it really unacceptable?

A double standard? Maybe.

If an ordinary man had multiple partners, the media would crucify him. But if Steve Rogers did it — well, that was romance.

That was chivalry.

That was compassion for a war hero.

"There are many," Steve admitted openly. "They all know about each other — they're my wives. People often ask why they don't fight."

He paused deliberately, watching Karen's curiosity grow.

Sure enough, she leaned closer, her breath brushing his shoulder.

"Why is that?" she asked softly.

"Because I'm strong," Steve said with a grin. "Every time takes at least three hours. They can't handle me.

I give them everything I have — I don't interfere with their careers, and I support them however I can."

Karen's cheeks turned bright red. "I don't believe you!"

"If you don't believe me, you can test it yourself," Steve teased, raising an eyebrow.

Karen giggled and playfully tapped his arm — his rock-solid biceps didn't budge an inch.

"Captain, you're so bad! Acting like a flirt!" she laughed. "I don't have to work overtime tonight. I haven't properly thanked you for saving me last time. How about dinner together?"

That was definitely a hint — and a bold one.

In this world, there was no crime of bigamy. As long as both parties agreed, multiple marriages were legal.

Still, few men dared to take that route — not because it was illegal, but because divorce laws were brutal.

One misstep, and half your fortune was gone.

That's why so many rich men preferred mistresses to marriage.

But Steve Rogers wasn't like other men.

When he told Maria Hill and Sharon Carter that he wanted to marry them — not just be with them — they had both been deeply moved.

To marry meant commitment. And with Steve, it meant true love.

"Sure," Steve said warmly. "You'll be my personal assistant — two million a year. You can still work at the law firm when you're free.

I know you often help the poor with legal cases. You're kind, compassionate — I admire that."

Steve gently took Karen's hand, letting her feel his warmth and strength.

Just then, a familiar system prompt appeared before his eyes:

[Karen likes you very much. If you work harder tonight, you can win her over. Her best friend is Jennifer Susan Walters (She-Hulk).]

Steve's lips twitched.

Daredevil… sorry, buddy. Looks like I'm stealing both your girlfriends.

Matt Murdock: "…Captain, are you even human?"

Karen blushed even deeper at the compliment from the man she admired. She lowered her head shyly, unable to meet his eyes.

"Thank you, Captain," she murmured.

"Just call me Steve," he said with a smile. "Why wait for dinner? Let's eat now — I'm starving."

"Ah—okay!" she replied softly.

Ten minutes later.

Matt Murdock walked into the empty office, leaning on his cane.

"Foggy, have you seen Karen?"

His partner Foggy Nelson, typing distractedly on the computer, sighed.

"She went on a date with the Captain. Taking the day off."

"…What?" Matt froze.

Date?!
