The vampire servants were all branded with a special mercury mark that was nearly impossible to remove.
Nissa sent people to take the two snipers away. Someone would interrogate them and find out who sent them.
Steve decided to test the newly upgraded information prompt system, so he ordered the team to hold the prisoners for now.
With a few swift jumps, he disappeared from the reporters' view. All media attention was focused on the fierce battle between the Hulk and the Abomination.
Superheroes and supervillains had become the newest global trend — more popular than any boy band or Hollywood celebrity. Anything connected to them would instantly go viral.
When Steve approached the captured snipers, he didn't speak. He simply looked at them.

Steve noticed that the information was far more detailed than before. Previously, it only revealed a name, occupation, and objective. Now, it even showed affiliations and emotional indicators.
But what caught his attention most was that the name "Danica" appeared in red. When he focused on it, more information unfolded before his eyes.
A projection of a beautiful, fashionably dressed woman appeared — seductive eyes filled with charm, but beneath that allure lay coldness and disdain.

The upgrade was proving to be quite useful. It could now highlight key information and store it in a panel for later reference.
"Take them away," Steve said calmly, waving a hand. He didn't let his expression change. The special forces took the prisoners into custody as Steve clocked out for the night.
The next morning, Steve woke early and watched the morning news. The screen showed scenes from last night's operation — the Green Goblin attack, the rampaging Abomination, and Captain America's heroic intervention.
The female news anchor's voice was sweet but sharp:
"While we're grateful for Captain America's protection, one question remains — are we truly safe depending on these super-powered individuals? If heroes like Spider-Man, the Hulk, or even Captain America were ever to lose control… could anyone stop them?"
Steve frowned. The host's words were clearly designed to sow distrust — planting doubt and envy in the minds of ordinary citizens.
Superheroes did protect the world, but people's fear of power was easy to exploit.
When he looked closer at the host, his upgraded system highlighted her profile: she was an employee of New York TV One — a media company owned by the DuPont family.
"Danica," Steve muttered, narrowing his eyes. "You've got my attention now."
In the kitchen, Betty stood by the counter, cheeks slightly flushed, eyes sparkling. Dressed in a loose white shirt and fitted warm pants with heeled sandals, she looked effortlessly alluring — casual yet captivating.
Her fair skin and relaxed demeanor were enough to make any man lose composure.
Zhao Hailun entered soon after, looking tired and bleary-eyed, dark circles under her eyes.
"Morning, Helen. Didn't sleep well?" Betty asked with a teasing smile.
Hailun rolled her eyes. "No. You two were way too loud last night. Ever heard of volume control?"
"Uh… I'll try next time," Betty said awkwardly. She had been restrained at first, but later—well, restraint had gone out the window.
Hailun sighed, poured milk into a glass, and put it in the microwave. "You're young, but remember—moderation is important. Too much passion isn't good for your health."
Betty's eyes narrowed slightly. She didn't appreciate anyone questioning her man — not even her best friend.
"He lasts two hours," Betty said softly but proudly.
Pffft!
Hailun nearly spit out her milk and started coughing violently, her cheeks turning pink.
"You're exaggerating!" she said between coughs.
"Hmph, if you don't believe me, just listen again tonight," Betty said smugly.
For the next few days, Hailun was mentally shattered. Steve completely redefined her understanding of human limits. He wasn't normal — not even close.
But instead of resentment, admiration grew in her heart. What began as awkward embarrassment slowly turned into quiet respect.
Steve spent those days discussing business with Hailun — not romance. He wanted to start a company that combined her expertise with Betty's.
He didn't plan to let Betty stay idle at home. She was too brilliant to waste her talent.
"So you're investing in a company for Betty and me?" Hailun asked, surprised and delighted.
"To be precise," Steve replied, "you're both my friends — and Betty is also my girlfriend. I plan to marry her… and you, eventually."
Hailun's eyes widened, her face flushing.
"You're… serious?"
Steve nodded solemnly. "It's my responsibility. Maybe it's the serum's side effects, or maybe I just can't help myself. Either way, I'll take care of both of you."
Betty's expression softened instantly. She wrapped her arms around him with affection.
"My dear, as long as you're happy, I'm happy too. These things don't matter to me. In a few days, I want to go visit Nissa as well."
"Steve, don't be so hard on yourself," Hailun said softly. "Without you, the world wouldn't be what it is today. You're a hero… and my idol."
With that, she leaned in and hugged him too, her heart racing with a mix of shyness and thrill.
It was dangerous, reckless — dancing on the edge of a blade.
But the danger only made it more exciting.
