POV: Kendrick
The first emissary arrived on a Monday.
Kendrick was in the training yard with Ryker when Petra appeared at the edge of the grounds with the particular expression she reserved for news that required immediate attention. He finished the hold he was demonstrating to a group of younger warriors, passed them off to Ryker, and crossed to meet her.
"Crestfall Pack," Petra said, handing him a folded letter bearing an unfamiliar seal. "Their emissary arrived at the northern border twenty minutes ago. He's been escorted to the guest quarters and is requesting an audience at your earliest convenience."
Kendrick read the letter. It was brief and formally worded, the language of inter-pack diplomacy that he recognized but rarely dealt with directly. Alpha Brennan of Crestfall Pack wished to offer his congratulations on the defeat of Morgana and to discuss the possibility of a formal alliance with Moonlit.
"Who is Brennan?" he asked.
