Simon's goal in showing off the fact that he could easily climb a wall was to leave the Vertical Mobility class.
The Vertical Mobility class had nothing else to teach him for today, and for him, he preferred to spend his time doing something else rather than wasting it to learn something he already knew.
Climbing the cliff wall was a little bit fun for him, considering the fact that there were surprising challenges and that the cliff wall was not just a rough or smooth five hundred feet wall.
However, he was able to use his creativity, talents, and experience to reach the end.
He already knew how to walk on wall, and the last training the Instructor was meant to teach the class was how to properly jump from platforms to bridges to chains, and so on.
But he didn't need to be taught anymore.
