Merath took a step back, barely dodging the tip of the shadow blade by an inch.
However, she didn't care about the fact that the shadow blade had nearly killed her along with Simon.
All her attention was on Simon, and she could not hide the bright smile beneath her mask.
She threw Simon on the floor like a ragdoll, then she removed her mask and let it fall on the floor too.
Her wide smile and the satisfaction in her eyes could no longer be hidden as she stared at Simon.
"Finally. I wanted you to die by my hands, and I've finally achieved that."
Simon's eyes were wide open in shock and disbelief, and his lips closed and opened repeatedly but no words escaped his lips.
Merath approached Simon, then she crouched before him with the same smile.
"How does it feel to be fooled and to be at death's door?"
Simon looked at her, then he finally spoke.
However...
"Me-rath."
... The voice Merath heard was not that of Simon's but Jorra.
Her pupils constricted violently.
"What?"
