Pushing the door open, the rusted hinges let out a creaking screech. The burly man was still sitting behind the desk, hunched over counting small change on the table. The flickering oil lamp cast his shadow on the wall, making him look massive.
The man looked up at Alex, his eyes full of alertness: "Corpse Collector?"
However, his gaze paused on Alex's cleaner clothes: "You don't seem to be doing body collection anymore; you look a lot brighter."
Alex frowned. How did the man know? Could the news have spread that fast?
Alex stepped forward, maintaining a calm demeanor, and placed the bag of scrap metal on the table with a loud thud: "I'm not doing it anymore. I've moved on to something else, but this money still needs to be made. What's the price now?"
