So… Obviously… We weren't going to move an entire city of at least a few thousand people to the base camp immediately.
We made them choose a few followers to take along with them to accompany us, giving them a quick briefing about our base that we have set up in front of the portal and the fact that we were only here as a scouting team.
They ended up gathering a group of a dozen or so people to accompany us, all of them at least quite capable of defending and fighting against Anomalies on their own.
With all of them gathered, I used my teleportation door to teleport us back to the base.
When the door appeared, all of the survivors flinched back like they had seen something monstrous appear in front of them, acting like they've never seen a door before.
Or at least never seen a door appear out of thin air before.
Well, I guess this would definitely be startling to someone who was seeing it for the first time so I can understand at least.
