He tapped his fingers against each other as he said, "If I remember correctly, you set an appointment with us last year for the next three years. A year and two months have passed since then, so you have one year and 10 months before the appointment. This mission should finish well before then, so you should be able to make it if you survive."
Loki immediately nodded in agreement and said, "I'll surely be able to make it to the appointment."
He spoke calmly and respectfully. As for what was said or unsaid about how he should die during this mission if he wasn't planning on making the appointment and joining the Thorn House of Commerce, he didn't let that get to him.
It wasn't false bravado. He was truly relaxed now that it seemed that this man wasn't planning on killing him.
Instinctively, he didn't trust what the rank 8 money cultivator said. But Loki couldn't figure out why the man would lie to him when the money cultivator could make his move now and kill him.
