The cold, mysterious force was like water trying to put out the fire of his Divine Spark. It caused his lifespan to leak out like water from a broken dam.
In his bid to stop the loss of his lifespan, he activated the Intangible Divine Metac. The job of this Divine Metac was to free him from touch and any sort of interaction with his existence.
If anything could stop the river of death from killing him, he believed that this was the best tool for it. Unfortunately, it didn't work.
As the Intangible Divine Metac took effect, his body became ethereal and untouchable. But for some reason, the black water could still touch him. The river of death could accurately grasp his ethereal figure and the cold, mysterious force of death was still draining him of his lifespan.
