One second, she was coaxing, and the next she was soothing. Marjorie was about to go crazy as she was praying for Amabel to stop crying and talk things out.
The more Amabel cried, the more she started to realize that Amabel might have been overthinking, and it mustn't have been easy for her in the time they were apart.
She just wanted Amabel to stop crying so that she will tell her the truth. This time, she wasn't hesitating at all.
Why? One might wonder, but Marjorie was finding her confidence.
Why?
The reason being simple.
She didn't notice or think earlier that her friend was carrying guilt towards her. Now that she has seen it, and though she knows that its wrong for her to capitalize her scheme over this matter, she didn't have a choice.
Only by taking advantage of Amabel's current guilt and vulnerability will she be certain that she won't be losing her dear friend.
