"I know that I am unlike other women out there. There is nothing impressive about me. My family background is poor and I need support. I am not someone who can actually help you in any way especially your business," she spoke humbly and with a hint of mockery, putting herself in a lower position that made her look more of a victim. She didn't forget to fan the flames, lest Valentine forgets.
"I only have a pretty face and if I were to face women like Philippa, Daphne's friend, I would be beaten and have stones thrown at me being labeled as a vixen. I honestly don't understand when being beautiful and young has been a crime, but that's the only good trait I currently have."
Valentine felt his heart clenching when he heard her mocking herself like that. He wanted so badly to tell her that wasn't true, and yet he found himself unable to utter a single word, thus she continued with her heartfelt confession.
