"We going in. " it had been an entire week since the first attack of the spiders, during that week they had been attacked a few more times.
Small scale but it was annoying, but now his preparations were complete. He had created more magazines and more bullets.
Each warrior was carrying a basket made of vines filled with magazines. On their waist were tiny vine bags with bullets.
He had also made revolvers for all of the mages and two pistols for him and Viona. The pistols and revolvers had a bit less power than the larger guns.
He planned to remake them later but they should suffice for now. They followed him into the dark tunnel.
The fire mage created a ball of fire lighting up the way. The tunnel was covered in web but he couldn't see any spiders around.
He spread out his senses but felt nothing. " We continue." They continued walking deeper into the tunnel.
He could practically smell their fear but he didn't say anything to encourage them. Viona berated them for him.
She told them they were a disappointment to their god and she was kind of right, he was disappointed. Hearing that they all felt embarrassed.
After that they walked forward with more purpose. Their guns ready for anything to come out.
It wasn't long before something did. The web around them grew thicker, he ordered the fire mage to burn it and so he did.
As the web caught on fire and the flames spread the spiders revealed themselves. Thousands of them.
The web was hiding smaller tunnels on the tunnel walls. ' Should've seen this coming, it seems I still underestimate the intelligence of their leader.'
He thought to himself. " Fire." He ordered and guns blazed. Bullets flew like streaks of lights.
Green spider blood covered the tunnel walls as their carcasses fell to the ground riddled with holes.
However they came like an endless flood, fortunately he was prepared. He stood and did nothing.
He watched his soldiers in work evaluating their teamwork and efficiency so to know what to fix in their training.
Viona stood next to him, she had a better talent for reading battle that he. Even though he was a god he was not very versed in leading armies.
That was the job of his siblings, especially his older brother. They stood in a formation that protected the mages.
The mages on the other hand used their power to create barriers protecting the warriors.
This is what he trained them for, they still trained their offensive spells they awakened but he gave them defence spells to focus on.
Currently their offensive spells couldn't match the power of the bullets so they were to leave the offense to the guns.
Their main jobs was to provide defence. Freya was trained different, he had her learn two healing spells and two enhancement spells.
He had to admit the woman was smart, she was able to learn those four spells quite quickly.
To be honest both he and Viona would've preferred if she didn't join the battle, her strategic importance was quite high in his books.
He would prefer her to be safe, which is why she had the highest protection here, him. Her job was simple, to heal.
The spiders were too weak to wound anybody so she rarely had anything to do.
" Advance."
They continued while shooting down the spiders. When one ran out of ammo they took out another magazine.
As one mana node squires, they were very fast and so were their reloading speed.
" What do you think of them?" Viona asked.
He nodded with approval. " They've improved quite rapidly this past week, you should be proud."
She beamed with a happy smile, after all she was the one to train them, he only assisted here and there.
He couldn't help but admire her talent for battle and war, it was even better than his own.
For a person who had just as much if not slightly more training than the others, her achievements were impressive even to him.
He was certain if she was born during the peak era of gods, his brother would've made her his herald.
Or at the very least an apostle.
" Those were the days." He found himself whispering. Viona looked at him but did not ask.
They continued forward with the two of them walking casually. Three if you count Freya, the further they walked forward the denser the webs became.
More and more spiders lunged at them, one managed to pass through the rain of bullets and fall towards them.
It was casually split in two by one of the warrior's sword before she continued firing her gun. " I think they need better clothes."
He had been thinking about looking for cotton in that forest, perhaps he could find it there and perhaps find a way to make silk in the process.
' Wait.' he touched the spider webs and couldn't help but grin. ' This will do just fine.' " don't burn the webs anymore, try to kill as many spiders without destroying the web."
The warriors nodded and started trying to miss the web. It was hard for them at first but they got the hang of it before long.
" Why did you stop them from burning the web?" Viona asked.
" You need knew clothes don't you?" He answered with his own question.
" Yeah, these ones are getting torn." He looked at her and getting torn was an understatement.
He could literally see her breasts through them. " Wait, you want us to wrap the web around us?"
Her question caught him off guard.
' By the holy flame is she getting dumber?' he thought silently. Freya giggled.
" If I'm not mistaken, you're planning to make clothes using this web right?"
He nodded. " It should be able to serve as a well enough silk."
She nodded. Before he noticed they had reached the end of the tunnel. They came out to the larger cave which was the spider nest.
The nest was empty, meaning the spiders either ran or were hiding. They continued moving in until they were almost at the centre.
" Wait, something is wrong." Viona shouted with a worried face. He too felt the same, he had a feeling this was a trap.
Suddenly they heard something land behind them. They turned and saw three massive spiders blocking the tunnel back.
Then more and more rank 1 spiders came out and surrounded them. " Well this should be fun?"
