Topic: The Immortal Flame and Song Clans join hands.

Back (Original Poster) (Veteran Member) (Reliable Source) (Original VTB)

Posted On Sep 28th, 21xx:

Good morning/evening/night, everyone! I have some very interesting news to share with all of you.

Yes, you read correctly. And no, you didn't enter the fanfic section by mistake. This is very much real.

I will do a quick recap for those of you who have been living under a rock. As of three weeks ago, Sir Sunless returned at last from his journey through the Dream Realm. Find the video here: [Saint Sunless saves the day].

Just in time, too, for the Valor forces under -currently missing- Master Morgan were put under a mind hex by the guardian of the Gate. Fortunately, Sir Sunless, despite just coming out of his Third Nightmare, managed to subdue the Gate and the Valor force. Find the official declaration made by Clan Valor here: [Clan Valor breaks its silence at last].

After that, we lost his trail for a while. There have been accounts of him being spotted in the Outskirts, the Awakened Academy, a mall, and Gale's concert two weeks ago. However, these sightings were short-lived, and as of now, the Immortal Flame Clan still refuses to convene with the press, citing Saint Sunless' unwillingness to face the cameras. Photos here: [Outskirts], [Awakened Academy], [Mall], [Concert].

Well, their silence was broken just a few minutes ago. And boy, is it an interesting way to do so.

Saint Ki Song, the head of clan Song, and Lady Nephis -better known as Changing Star- have held a closed-door press conference in which they confirmed the rumours that started after a leak from one of Clan Song's retainers, in which they affirmed seeing Lady Nephis, accompanied by Saint Sunless himself and her cohort, entering the Song headquarters. Find the declaration here: [Breaking! Is the Immortal Flame Clan joining Song?]

In the press conference, they confirmed all of it and also provided some more interesting tidbits. Turns out that both Master Nephis and Saint Sunless have been adopted by Saint Ki Song -a former member of Broken Sword's cohort, for those who don't remember- and are, as of now, the official heirs of Clan Song. Find the conference here: [Song of an Immortal Flame].

And here I thought it would be a boring day.

Pretty interesting conference. Quick summary for those of you too lazy to check it out for yourselves:

- Both Lady Nephis and Sir Sunless have been named heirs. This should end all doubts about their relationship status.

- Lady Nephis and all of her cohort are relocating to Ravenheart.

- Saint Ki Song has corroborated the statement made by Clan Valor and clarified that there is no bad blood between the two clans. She sends her best wishes and hopes that such a thing will never happen again.

- Sir Sunless has stated that exploration reports are going to be published soon about his journeys. So far, he has confirmed the discovery of a new death zone.

- Due to recent events, Clan Song has decided to hold its own Awakened Ball instead of attending the one usually organised by Clan Valor. A date is yet to be announced.

These are interesting times, folks.

That's a pity, I'm old enough to remember the times when Immortal Flame was one of the Great Clans, and I was hoping that now that they have a Saint of their own, they would reclaim that spot.

That's how life works, I guess. I miss when there were still animals out in the wild instead of only on rich people's houses.

@LazyJoe. That isn't enough anymore. Saint Sunless is strong, but not that strong.

> Sollyne (#1 Sir Sunless fan)

Tell that to Saint Madoc and Saint Jest. Both of them got ragdolled at the same time.

It always cracks me up to see Saint Madoc's face when Sir Sunless catches his sword barehanded. If you slow down the video enough, you can see all hope dying in his eyes.

Sucks to be a Valor member right now. Poor guys are getting mocked by practically everyone and are also stuck watching their main rival grow that much stronger while they are at it.

They deserve it in my opinion, imagine being so weak your whole force gets put under a "mind hex" while none of Changing Star's was.

There go the theories about the existence of a secret Shadow Clan plucking the strings from behind the scenes and Saint Sunless being its heir. It's a real pity; some of them were pretty fun.

Does anyone remember the guy who said that Broken Sword was killed by the Shadow Clan and that Saint Sunless and Master Nephis are entangled in some sort of toxic, self-destructive relation because of it?

Does anyone know where I can find clothes like the ones Saint Sunless wore in the conference? Very stylish, although they would work better with a cape.

@Lost in paradise. That's exactly what they want you to believe!

I'm telling you, no one goes from nobody to a Saint just like that. I bet that all this time, he has actually been tucked away in some unknown region, being trained by his clan to become a Saint in secret. There is no way he beat a third nightmare as a Sleeper, and on top of that, did it just as his girlfriend was being attacked. There is a conspiracy going on, and I'm sick and tired of everyone acting like there isn't.

PS: DM me if you find that post. I would like to read it.

I'm quite interested in @House of Night's reaction to all of this. It's no secret that among the three Great Clans, they are the weakest by far, and this is another nail in the coffin.

Tyris closed her communicator when she heard the soft click of her office's door. She did not smile upon seeing her husband, but the air around her became just a little softer.

It went right back to its natural state when she noticed the grim expression on Roan's face.

"I'm afraid we received the exact orders we feared we would." He said glumly, not a hint of the usual easy smile he wore to be found on his face.

Tyris did not grimace or make any display of emotion, but outside, the first hints of a storm could be spotted.

Round 1: Saint Sunless with all of his bodies.

Round 2: Saint Sunless with only one body.

Personally, given the feats shown by Sir Sunless recently and the haste with which Clan Song recruited him, I would say that he can win at least round 1, with round 2 coming up to a toss-up. What do you guys think?

Broken Sword is strong, but the others have spent ages without making an apparition, probably too scared to fight anything that can fight back.

When his communicator rang with a grating ringing sound, Saint Dale closed his communicator mournfully and stood up.

Duty called, and he wasn't eager to make it wait, not when he knew all too well the kind of consequences such a thing carried. This made for the third Gate he would have to deal with this week alone.

It was Tuesday.

He had heard Jet complaining about getting scammed with the whole becoming a Saint thing, and he was starting to agree.

Your fic is a poorly written self-insert smutty mess between you and Sir Sunles that has nothing even akin to a plot.

Besides, if anything, you are the one trying to do that to Lady Nephis, considering you didn't even speak to Sir Sunless before he joined your clan.

Also, Nephless is and will always be the best ship.

The sound of Hel's infuriated scream filled Revel with satisfaction.

She tapped on her communicator and released the final chapter of 'Between Song and Light'. It had been a long time coming, the path was gruelling and more than a little convoluted, but the final choice had been made, and there was no going back.

Sir Sunless, after ruminating on it for a long time, would abandon his childhood friend Death Singer, whom he met at a young age in the orphanage, to elope with the mysterious and fascinating Changing Star.

That would teach Hel to stop criticising her novels.

Topic: Humanity's first contact with an Unholy Creature

In: Boards > Discussion > Dream Realm

Caffeined Aarez (Original Poster) (Count of Monte Coffee) (#1 Lady Cassia defender)

Posted on September 30th, 21xx

I bring you all an interesting topic today. For those of you who are unaware, Saint Sunless, in conjunction with @TeacherJulius, has just released three exploration reports. Links here: [The Exploration Report of the Forgotten Shore], [The Exploration Report of the Tears] and [The Exploration Report of Aleras].

While the first one is quite interesting and offers us some more details of the region known as the "Forgotten Shore", the ones that are truly notorious are the other two. It is of interest to us because this has given us information on a whole new death zone we did not know about, and quite importantly, the reports also explain how to survive them. Hopefully, this will make it so that the unfortunate Sleepers who might end up there on the winter Solstice have a better chance of survival.

And then there is the most important detail, on the "Tears" report, Saint Sunless relates his encounter with the Unholy Titan currently labelled by the community as "The Weeping God".

Long since we all theorised about the behaviour of Nightmare Creatures of the Unholy rank and why beings as powerful as they haven't wiped out the human settlements on the Dream Realm yet.

Given Saint Sunless's statements about the matter, despite directly looking at the Weeping God, said creature did not cause him any harm beyond what its mere presence did. The theory posited in the expedition report, namely that a Sleeper is simply too insignificant for an Unholy to bother killing, is one worth discussing.

Does this mean that as long as humanity doesn't reach a certain threshold of strength, it has nothing to fear from the Unholy Nightmare Creatures of the Dream Realm?

What are your thoughts?

(Showing Page 1 of 95)

> LeoDanBrock

Imagine surviving not only one, but two death zones, an encounter with an Unholy Titan and then conquering the third nightmare. All as a Sleeper.

Saint Sunless is a legend. Also very handsome if it's allowed to be said.

@Caffeined Aarez. Why are you acting like "Don't drink the obviously sketchy rainwater" or "Don't look at the ominous black clouds in the sky" are pearls of wisdom? His achievements are incredible, but let's be real, anyone with the same memories and scouting-based aspect as he could have done it.

His directions to the Gateway aren't that useful either; following rivers isn't that useful in a region that's described as all rivers.

@Raptorman. Hah!

Sure, let's give a chance to Lady Cassia -also known as Elegy of Uselessness- and I'm betting she dies five minutes in.

It's a disgrace that she got more scenes in the Director's Cut of "A Song of Light and Darkness" instead of dedicating more time to building up the relationship between Sir Sunless and Lady Nephis.

> Caffeined Aarez (Original Poster) (Count of Monte Coffee) (#1 Lady Cassia defender)

Replied on Sep 30th, 21xx

@Raptorman. Please, refrain from turning this into a different kind of discussion.

@Command Witchery. It has been demonstrated time and time again, both from first-hand accounts of Changing Star's cohort and professional analysts, that without Lady Cassia's intervention, they would have never escaped the Forgotten Shore, so show some respect.

> TeacherJulius (Veteran Member) (Education will save the world)

Replied on Sep 30th, 21xx

It warms my heart to see that my students' and mine efforts are being appreciated.

@Caffeined Aarez. It is a theory that I have discussed in depth both with my student and other researchers I know, but sadly, there is simply too little data to make anything but a wildly speculative guess.

Saint Sunless is, as of now, the only human to have ever met an Unholy creature and lived to tell the tale, so we have no way to tell if that is a behaviour common to them or if it's specific to The Weeping God.

> Command Witchery

There are reports from Song scouts about troubling Nightmare Creature patterns going on in God Grave. More specifically, at the skull region, which is theorised to be the place of residence of an Unholy creature. Though this is, as of now, just speculation that, for obvious reasons, cannot be proven.

Many seers have tried to ascertain if that is correct, but none have succeeded so far. Not even your high and mighty Lady Cassia @Caffeined Aarez.

What @Command Witchery says is correct; however, there is more news on that line.

Scouts from the White Feather clan have reported on anomalous activity dating back four months, along the edges of the Hollow Mountains that might be related to an incredibly powerful Nightmare Creature residing within.

Habitants of the Night Garden have reported ominous lights in the sky of the Storm Sea that are also believed to be the actions of a harrowingly powerful Nightmare Creature.

Then, there is also a leak -believed to be false- from a Government employee stating that a Category Six Gate is going to open in Antarctica.

We are living in interesting times, folks, and I don't think that's a good thing.
