After speaking of his intentions, Zayne didn't plan to hide his ignorance of the Perpetual Darkness and reveal himself and Jade to be from a world that had just recently experienced the Perpetual Darkness.
After all, those who would benefit from hiding those were weaklings who didn't want to reveal themselves as newbies. But in this case, Zayne wasn't worried about them knowing about it.
If they were to take advantage of that fact and deceive him, he could just keep on killing them until he met a competent and submissive elf who'd carry out his plans.
In other words, if they dared to deceive him, the advantage was his, as he had already displayed the power of a World Class Mage.
