There wasn't a word spoken between the two.
But somehow Diana didn't find the silence to be awkward in any way.
She just sat in her place, her head slightly leaning against the wall.
"What are you doing?"
Kael asked again.
This time his voice didn't have the same rage as before.
Diana didn't reply, at least not immediately.
"What are you doing?"
Now it was Diana who asked the same question to Kael.
Kael raised his head and turned to look at her.
Diana too, sensing his gaze, stared back at him.
For Diana, the time felt as if it had slowed down.
It was after a long period of time that she had truly looked into Kael's eyes.
But she could no longer find the same warmth in them as before. Kael's eyes looked more like those of a corpse than a living person.
They had no light in them.
Kael always had dark black eyes that were the signature of the Frosts. But at this instance all Diana could see was even more darkness in them.
