Chapter 36 - Naruto's Despair

"Damn it!"

Naruto clenched his fist and roared. Today was a new day, and he was waiting for some good news.

But what came was just more bad news.

The Eight Trigrams Sealing Jutsu method didn't work.

Even if he could use this Jutsu to perfection, he didn't have Byakugan to locate the pressure points in his Chakra Pathway.

That meant if he made a single mistake, the seal would be misplaced. And, the misplaced seal must be removed.

The reason why those pressure points were necessary was due to their existence to release Chakra.

After all, Chakra was released from every cell of the body, but that didn't mean it could be gathered just everywhere.

There were only a few specific points, also known as Tenketsu points, where the chakra would be produced.

And blocking this point could block the production of the Chakra.

Chakra was essential for any kind of ninja. Even Taijutsu experts would need Chakra to supplement their attacks.

Otherwise, it would simply be the attack of a normally trained person.

Because of that, he couldn't put more than three Eight Trigrams Seals in his body. If he used this method, it would take him months to complete this process.

If he could wait that long, he would rather find a better solution than this.

At this moment, Minato's voice rang in his head.

"Naruto, why don't you give up on this?"

Naruto frowned and said.

"Dad, I have already told Kurama I will not give up on this method."

"No, no, I am not talking about this method of training. Your training method is quite hard but rewarding as well."

"The human body adapts to the situation, and having your body adapt to the Chakra Natures inside the body would make your organs stronger."

"So, I am not against this training method. I am just saying, why not stop it for now and let us do the main work on Sealing Jutsu?"

"Once we complete it, you can train using this method."

Hearing that, Naruto paused for a moment, but his eyes darkened as he bit his lips.

"Dad, I can't stop training with this method. I will not use the Eight Trigrams Seal anymore, but I will not stop here."

"With Kurama's regeneration, I can still do this kind of training."

Hearing his words, Minato, inside the seal, frowned.

He had seen what kind of torture his son went through yesterday. He didn't want him to go through similar pain once again.

It was hard to watch his son suffer, especially when there were many methods to get stronger.

At this moment, Kurama, who had been silently watching Naruto's emotions, spoke.

"He just experienced despair, absolute despair."

Kushina's expression fell as she asked with teary eyes.

"What do you mean?"

"I can't read his mind, but there was only one time he had shown this kind of despair."

Kurama didn't speak as he looked at Minato and Kushina.

He wanted to make sure they were ready to hear this. In fact, even he didn't know about this.

He only knew because of the memories from Naruto after his death.

He wouldn't have remembered it if Naruto hadn't shown such a level of despair.

"You know, even when Jiraiya died, Naruto didn't fall into despair. He was sad, extremely sad, but he was angry as well."

"There was a fire in his heart, telling him to take revenge for his teacher. So, he didn't fall into despair."

Minato and Kushina knew Naruto would have been sad after losing his teacher.

Even though their Naruto hadn't been close to Jiraiya, especially after a week of Taijutsu training and Summoning Jutsu, the original Naruto was very close.

Kurama sighed and continued.

"Originally, I didn't understand why Naruto was so fixated on this method. I mean, after devouring the Ten Tails, he will become Ten Tails Jinchuriki."

"Alongside having all of the other strengths of his own. But while watching his training yesterday, I couldn't help but contemplate the reason."

Minato clenched his fist as he asked.

"Knowing the future is affecting him too much."

Kurama nodded and said.

"In the future, he lost his son. Although it was only for a fw minutes, Naruto was in absolute despair."

"He lost his son because of his lack of strength. He couldn't even avenge his son because Boruto made a promise with his adopted brother to kill him if he went rogue."

"And, he did. He was almost going to kill Naruto. Naruto didn't mind dying at the hands of his son."

"But his adopted son, Kawaki, wouldn't let him die. Naruto understood Kawak also faced similar despair, so he understood Kawaki's heart."

"But that only made things worse for him. He lost his son because he couldn't protect himself."

"I had died at that time, so I couldn't be sure of his thoughts, but he must have been sad, wondering why he was so weak without me."

Hearing that, Kushina burst into tears as she sobbed, holding Minato's shoulder, while Minato just remained silent.

He finally understood why Naruto was so fixated on this kind of training.

Kurama didn't say it or even think about it, but Naruto must have thought, 'Why did I rely so much on others?'

Even after his battle with Isshiki, he didn't have this kind of thought. He was ready to sacrifice himself.

Even when he lost Kurama, he only got sad that he survived while Kurama died.

There wasn't despair for 'why so weak', instead, there was a sadness of 'why just Kurama?'

Naruto never sent these memories to the past because he wanted to make himself stronger.

That was never the case. He could easily get stronger. He had multiple methods to get stronger.

He chose to believe in the future generation, in his son.

He sent the memories to the past, hoping his past self would save those people who died an unfortunate death.

But he made one mistake.

Naruto didn't become him.

He merely accepted those memories and responded to them from the perspective of a Twelve-Year-Old Naruto.

This was why Naruto didn't feel sad for Jiraiya but felt absolutely horrible for not having the strength to protect his son.
