When Kai went to the cafeteria to eat, as usual, people began looking at him and speaking badly. Kai didn't pay attention, because the smell of grilled chicken reached him, and his stomach growled. Without thinking, he quickly grabbed several pieces and started eating.
The Marines present didn't say anything, but there were others who wanted trouble and began approaching Kai. While he was eating, his mist warned him that three people were coming toward him. He ignored it and continued enjoying the delicious, spicy roasted chicken.
As he ate, he thought to himself: Damn, this is so tasty, and this is just the Marine base… imagine what they eat in Marineford.
While he was thinking, he heard the Marines speaking in the middle of the room and realized who was the leader:
"Hey, you blind guy, what are you doing here? You know this is a Marine base, and people like you don't belong here!"
Kai calmly replied without turning: "Can't you see I'm eating chicken?"
Everyone was shocked and stared at Kai. Then one of the men said: "Don't you realize that the one talking to you is First Class Petty Officer Jim?"
Kai waved his hands in front of his face: "Can't you see I'm blind? How am I supposed to know who he is?"
Hearing this, Jim, proud and arrogant, looked at Kai with contempt: "I never thought I'd be disappointed in Vice Admiral Sakazuki… how could he hire a blind kid like you?"
Kai was surprised and looked at Jim, thinking: Wow, this guy has iron balls, saying this about Sakazuki, who's currently on base and in a very bad mood.
When Kai was about to respond, his mist suddenly warned him of a person approaching from behind, radiating a very bad mood. As Jim prepared to continue mocking him, a cold voice cut through, sending chills down his spine:
"What do you mean by disappointing Vice Admiral Sakazuki?"
Jim turned and saw Momongo, whose presence, according to Kai's mist, was extremely dangerous. Shocked, Jim quickly introduced himself:
"Good day, Rear Admiral Momongo. I'm Jim, First Class Petty Officer, and my father is the Commander of the 25th Marine Base in North Blue."
After Momongo released Kai, he was furious because of the Shichibukai system. Passing by the cafeteria, he overheard someone speaking disrespectfully about Sakazuki, and this was the last straw. Looking at the person and noticing how he presented himself, Momongo's anger grew. He shouted:
"I don't care who your mother is! How dare you speak about Vice Admiral Sakazuki? Are you trying to die, brat? Get out of here before I can't control myself!"
Kai tried to hold back his laughter and thought: This Jim is really an idiot. What he said about his father, the Commander of the 25th Marine Base, really angered Momongo… what if it had been Sakazuki himself? What would he have done then?
It became harder for Kai to suppress his laughter. Terrified, Jim quickly changed his expression and fled with his two subordinates.
Seeing the boy run away, Momongo heard a faint laugh, turned, and saw Kai covering his mouth with his hand:
"Seems like you heard something funny, Kai."
Kai quickly replied: "No, Rear Admiral Momongo."
Momongo then said: "We'll talk tomorrow during training."
