Circumstances had now completely gone out of my hands. Helena, inside whose body that blue poison was crawling like a slow death, and now it was forcing Helena to take her final breaths. That poison was now about to finish her completely by and by, and right then I was not even able to do anything to stop it.
But now I had one last way. To erase the source to finish the effect. I will have to find and finish that kidnapper woman so that the effect of this Poison can finish from Helena. My mind was able to understand this that since this is a kind of her own unique ability, so as soon as she finishes, the effect of this poison also finishes, this is possible. And with this thought, I became ready to find that woman back. I made Helena sit against the wall in her same condition. Her complexion had now turned pale and that blueness was reaching up to her neck. Her condition was quite delicate, but because of the Reverent Card, one good thing had certainly happened.
Even if that card had not completely finished the poison, but its sacred energy had certainly decreased the speed of the spreading of that poison in Helena's body. However, this could also be because of this reason that that woman is injured now, due to which the speed of the poison spreading has decreased. As that hunter's own life was leaving, her poison was also becoming loose.
But after all this I thought, should I also take Helena's axe with me? That golden axe was present in Helena's hands until now. But the trouble was that this axe is a Hallowed Weapon, so perhaps I might not be able to use it in the right way if needed. And without correct coordination and 'bonding', that Hallowed weapon in my hands will be only a heavy piece of metal. In that situation, it will just become a burden for me.
Seeing the lack of time, I dropped the idea of taking the axe. Instead, I decided to take Helena's gun. I took out her gun from beside Helena. That cold feeling of the metal filled a new hope in my hands. I saw the bullets inside it which were fully filled, as if it had not been used even once in this fight until now. Helena had fought her entire fight on the strength of her axe, and this was the reason that this revolver of hers was now going to become my biggest weapon.
I loaded the gun, set my fingers on the trigger and turned toward those crawling bloody marks of that woman.
Those fresh and sticky marks of blood on the floor were moving forward like a thin line. That woman was crawling, and the 'corruption' running in her veins and the wounds given by me were hollowing her from inside, but she was still alive.
As I was moving forward, I began to hear the sound of heavy and broken breaths from behind an old pile of goods. That sound was just like someone counting their last moments. My hand froze on the trigger.
And suddenly, piercing the silence, a terrifying laugh echoed. That was not a laugh, but a pain like the clinking of breaking glass. That woman was crouching behind a high iron beam. Her eyes, which earlier were burning like embers, were now looking like extinguishing coal. She raised her trembling hand, her fingers had now turned black.
But Helena's revolver in my hand was giving me a cold peace.
Without delay, I fired the first bullet at that injured woman.
A flame of fire came out from the mouth of the gun and the bullet moved toward that woman piercing the darkness. I felt that this game will finish right here, but that bullet, instead of colliding with that woman, went and collided with one of her Shadow Tentacles. That black shadow emerged in the air like some liquid substance and it completely soaked the velocity of the bullet. That tentacle was completely invisible in the darkness, due to which it was not visible to me.
Amazement and anger flashed together in my eyes, due to which I had missed my first aim. My calculation had proven wrong. I was just trying to recover, but before I could see the tentacle in front of me, a second tentacle comes from behind me to attack me.
That attack was absolutely silent and lethal. There was no stir in the air either, no sound occurred, but luckily I find out about her attack with the help of my 'Intuition'.
On finding it out, a shiver ran through my spinal cord, as if some invisible finger were asking me to turn back. Time as if froze for a second and I had a sense of the presence of that invisible shadow.
Then I quickly jump to the side using my agility. My body turned in the air like an arc and the attack of that tentacle hits directly on the ground. The collision was so terrifying that because of that impact the strong concrete ground breaks like some glass.
But I do not stop. I had a guess of this thing that this woman cannot use more tentacles at once at this time. Because her condition was standing on the verge of Mental Corruption and her Losing Control. She was breaking from inside, and this was my chance.
Therefore, I was trying to go near her while running and jumping on high piles of goods. My focus was only on that woman. Then I took a long jump and caught the edge of some iron shelf-like thing. Due to which, while hanging, I had come to her Right Side. I could see her unarmed shadow and this was a 'perfect opening' for me and I took advantage of it without thinking. While hanging from the shelf itself, I fired a bullet at her once again. The roar of the gun pierced that silence, but due to nothing being clear in the darkness, perhaps the tentacle once again stopped that bullet. Hearing that sharp sound like the clashing of iron, I felt quite a lot of anger at myself and that woman.
My concentration was just about to break that just then a tentacle again came to attack me. Which I again sensed with the help of my 'Intuition'. As soon as it moved toward me like a whip, I pushed a heavy box kept on the shelf with my legs using full strength and escaped again by jumping.
My body rotated in the air and as soon as I moved away, that tentacle directly collided with that iron shelf. The collision was so forceful that that heavy shelf bent like a toy and fell down. But in this noise of debris, I was now so close to that woman that I could clearly see that madness hidden in her eyes.
