Chapter 1 - Chapter 1. An Unexpected Night

Nadia held her aching head and tried to sit up, leaning against the headboard. "Razel last night, what was wrong with him? Why was he so different on our first night together?" she said, pulling the blanket over her front.

A few seconds later, Nadia froze in place, realizing that the phoenix tattoo on the back did not belong to Razel because her husband did not have any tattoos on his body.

Slowly, Nadia tried to get a closer look at the back of the person who was still fast asleep next to her. "Oh, my God!" Nadia immediately covered her mouth with both hands. Tears immediately began to fall slowly. She looked around the room to make sure she hadn't entered the wrong room, but as far as Nadia could remember, she had just come out of the bathroom with a slight headache, then she wanted to open the door because she heard someone at her door.

"Kay. Is it Kay?" Nadia immediately got out of bed and looked at the man's face from the side.

"No!" Nadia covered her mouth with both hands again when she saw that it wasn't Razel's face there, but someone else's, and that person was Kayrav Langit Vianra—the man she loved, but they couldn't be together.

Instantly, Nadia's tears flowed, and she sat down against the cold wall, looking at Kay who was still sound asleep.

"Why, Kay? Why did you do this to me? Why are you such a selfish man? If you want something, you have to get it no matter what."

The man who seemed to be sleeping with a satisfied smile because he had just experienced something extraordinary suddenly blinked his eyes when he heard the sound of loud sobbing nearby.

"My head is spinning." Kay held his head and tried to get up. When he was sitting leaning against the bed, he saw someone crying while sitting below, hiding their face between their knees.

Kay saw that the woman was naked and only covered with a hotel blanket.

"Oh God! What have I done? Have we crossed the line?"

Kay looked again at the woman who was still crying and realized that there was a birthmark on her left arm.

"Nadia?" Kay immediately got out of bed and approached the woman, who lifted her head and looked at Kay as Kay's hand touched her arm.

"You're evil, Kay," Nadia stammered.

"Oh my God! What did I actually do to you? Did we do something forbidden last night?" Kay asked back.

Kay looked again at the woman who was still crying, and he suddenly realized when he saw a birthmark on the left arm of the crying woman.

"Nadia?" Kay immediately got out of bed and approached the woman, who immediately lifted her head and looked at Kay when his hand touched her arm.

"You're evil, Kay," Nadia stammered.

"Oh my God! What did I actually do to you? Did we do something forbidden last night?" Kay asked back.

Nadia pushed Kay's hand away from her and tried to move away. "How could you do this to me, Kay? I'm Razel's wife, and why are you so heartless to do all this?"

"Nad, listen to my explanation first. This isn't what I wanted. I don't even know what happened to me last night," Kay tried to remember what actually happened, but it was still difficult for him to recall.

"You're selfish, Kay. Just because you wanted me, you had the heart to do something disgusting like this. You think I'm some cheap woman who can be treated like this! You're treating me like a woman with no self-respect." Nadia covered her eyes with her hands and held back her tears.

"Nad, I don't think of you as a cheap woman at all. To me, you are an honorable woman, and I really don't know why this happened. I myself still remember why I went to your room and why we did this."

"You came to my room because you knew my husband hadn't returned from the nightclub. You said you needed help, and then all this happened," said Nadia angrily.

Nadia suddenly remembered her husband. She was afraid Razel would come and see them.

"Nad, what are you looking for?" Kay was confused to see Nadia trying to open her wardrobe.

"Did Razel see us and decide to leave me?" Nadia checked her husband's clothes in the wardrobe, wondering if they were gone.

"Nad!" Kay grabbed Nadia's hand and hugged her.

"Let go, Kay! Let go!" Nadia struggled so hard to break free from Kay's embrace.

However, Nadia's small body was no match for Kay's larger frame.

"Nad, I want to talk to you."

"I don't want to talk to you, Kay! I really hate you right now. Leave me alone and pretend none of this ever happened." Nadia struggled with all her might, tears streaming down her face.

"Leave you? That's impossible, especially after what happened. I'm Kayrav, not a coward who runs away from responsibility."

"What responsibility? You don't even have any rights over me. I'm Razel's lawful wife, and you're nothing. Just pretend this incident was a mistake I don't want to remember. Kay, please let me go and leave my life and Razel's." Nadia even folded her hands in front of Kayrav.

Kay was silent, looking at Nadia's face close to his. All the hot nights he had spent with Nadia flashed through his mind again.

"Nad, I'll find out why we both did this wrong thing, but what's clear is that I won't leave you after what happened between us."

"Why? Is it because you still love me so much?"

"That's one of the reasons," Kayrav replied firmly.

"Kay, I don't love you anymore. I've tried to get you out of my heart, and I have to do it. I want to protect my family's honor as a wife, even though you've already destroyed it."

"Nad, this isn't what I want," Kay emphasized his words. "I do love you very much, and I want you, but I'm not a selfish and evil man who will use any means necessary to make you mine. I actually hope to expose the corruption and betrayal of Razel's adopted sister. Your husband Razel and Gizel are lovers," Kay explained firmly.

Smack!

The sound of a slap echoed on Kay's cheek. Yes! Nadia slapped Kay hard because Kay had said something bad about her husband.

"Watch your mouth, Kay! You don't know my husband, even though we were in the same class back then, but you don't know him well. Razel is a good man, and you shouldn't say bad things about him." Nadia glared sharply at the man in front of her.

"We'll see, Nadia."
