Chapter 59 - Chapter 57: Leaving in Peace

Noon.

Daeron, wearing his straw hat, held a Luau on the beach and personally brewed a pot of fresh soup.

Elia was invited to participate and looked at Daeron curiously.

He had become a bald head.

Soon, Barristan ordered men to bring over the skeletal remains of a deformed dragon, providing a reasonable explanation.

Prince Daeron had explored Dragonmont and was attacked by a rogue dragon.

While slaying the rogue dragon alone, his hair was accidentally singed, so he simply shaved his head.

Elia was speechless.

"One explanation is enough."

Daeron was very calm, occasionally glancing at the wanton prince anchored by the shore.

The young dragons were there.

This morning, he immediately transported the three young dragons back to the ship, then took a detour back to Dragonmont before returning to Stone Drum Tower, pretending as if everything were normal.

After washing up, he invited Shae and the others to join the Luau on Summer 11th.

His strong psychological resilience told him.

The more critical the moment, the more one must go with the flow.

"Prince, everything is ready."

Davos walked over, giving him a reassuring look.

Daeron nodded slightly.

He instructed the other to prepare supplies for the voyage; they were leaving Dragonstone today to return to King's Landing.

Newborn young dragons were very fragile.

Once the existence of the young dragons was exposed, it would immediately attract countless covetous gazes.

"Father will likely be the first to try and seize them."

Daeron thought to himself.

The primary task was to leave Dragonstone first.

This place was full of Dornishmen.

Secondly, he needed to devise a foolproof plan that could both protect the young dragons and maximize their utility.

"Second Brother, when can we have the soup?"

Jaehaerys ran over and obediently added firewood to the bottom of the pot.

Daeron smiled and said, "Soon."

"Good!"

Jaehaerys had stars in his eyes, possessing a mysterious adoration for his brother.

Daeron had already been very good to him, and now he had ventured into Dragonmont alone to slay a deformed dragon.

It was simply... too cool!

Compared to him, the reactions of the others were somewhat intriguing.

Shae sat by the table laden with delicacies, ignoring the two summer forageables Daeron had brought out—Grapes and Spice Berries—as she focused intently on knitting a wool beanie.

Her movements were slow, but the hat was already half-finished... Viserys...

He was standing on tiptoes, leaning over the table, inhaling the Spice Berries like a storm.

As forageables, Spice Berries contained high Life Force and tasted fantastic.

"Eat slower."

Elia felt a bit embarrassed and took out a handkerchief to wipe the little fellow's mouth.

She was secretly surprised that Daeron had produced so many special crops again.

She turned to look at her companion, Ashara.

The other was holding a fragrant cluster of purple flowers, deeply intoxicated by them.

It was a special flower called "sweet pea" that Daeron had casually given away.

Shae and Ashara each received one.

It was said that the sweet floral scent could linger on the body for a month, bringing joy to the mind and body and boosting the appetite during the sweltering summer.

She didn't have one!

"Mealtime! Mealtime!"

After a long while, Daeron tapped the rim of the pot with a large wooden spoon, calling everyone to eat.

The Luau, like the Egg Festival, had a special event that day.

[A Delicious Pot of Soup]

Daeron personally prepared a pot of soup, and each participant would add their favorite ingredient to it, to be cooked and tasted together.

As long as no one threw random things into the soup, like Sap or Purple Shorts.

Then it would be a good pot of soup.

Daeron added a high-priced Silver Star Sea Cucumber to the soup, which definitely met the "favorite" standard.

Soon, everyone tasted the soup.

And they gained various degrees of benefits from the soup.

The women, including Elia, felt a slight warmth surging through their bodies, and their constitutions were somewhat enhanced.

Barristan and Ser Jon gained even more, with the Life Force within their bodies growing significantly.

Under normal circumstances, a person's Life Force is fixed from birth.

Taking Barristan as an example, unless one undergoes years of training and consumes special crops, it is difficult to increase the total amount of Life Force.

In recent years, only Barristan and Arthur Dayne had made significant progress.

This showed how precious "A Delicious Pot of Soup" was.

However, the most outstanding was Davos.

He had put an onion into the soup, saying that his family was poor when he was young, and onions were the most accessible cheap food, something he always remembered in his heart.

After drinking the soup, he unexpectedly and inexplicably mastered Life Force.

"Prince... me?"

Davos was stunned, holding his soup bowl in a daze.

Daeron had seen his loyalty and ability.

He took the opportunity to say, "Ser Jon, please dub Davos a knight and fulfill our promise."

Ser Jon was very decisive, drawing his sword and signaling Davos to kneel.

Davos was extremely excited.

But he remained clear-headed; after kneeling on one knee, he took out a dagger and sliced off the little finger of his left hand.

He said, "I cannot allow my past identity to become fodder for others to attack the Prince."

Cutting off a little finger represented a complete break from the past.

From now on, no one could use his past as a smuggler against him.

"Well done."

Barristan nodded silently, approving of Davos's character.

The knighting ceremony was complete.

Davos became the true "Onion Knight"... Afternoon.

Elia was very reluctant as she saw Daeron and the others off to their ship.

She had wanted to keep her sister-in-law and brothers-in-law for a few more days.

But a raven arrived from King's Landing; the King urged Daeron to return immediately without delay.

"Daeron, I am sorry for what Uncle Lewyn did to you. Once I have given birth safely, I will go to King's Landing to make it up to you."

Elia felt guilty.

Daeron ignored the ambiguity in her words and said calmly, "When you come to King's Landing, we will host you properly."

He paused and added, "King's Landing is very safe; no one will hurt you."

Elia was startled, feeling that her brother-in-law seemed a bit like a stranger today.

It wasn't because he had lost his hair.

It was a change in temperament, from the inside out.

Previously, beneath Daeron's gentle-as-jade exterior lay an extremely strong sense of principle, like a sword with its edge hidden.

The Daeron standing before her now was more like a flame radiating a dangerous aura, constantly releasing heat.

More aggressive.

Daeron glanced at Elia's abdomen, looking forward to the birth of his niece, Rhaenys Targaryen.

At the moment of departure, he looked back at Prince Lewyn, who had finally appeared.

Prince Lewyn was also looking at him, his brow slightly furrowed, clearly puzzled by the change in Daeron.

"See you next time."

Daeron didn't mind at all and gave him a grin.

Boarding the ship, they set sail.

Before long, the wanton prince receded, becoming a small black dot on the horizon.

Elia sighed with regret and turned back to Stone Drum Tower.

Prince Lewyn remained where he was, the suspicion in his eyes deepening.

"Prince..."

A Dornish soldier in yellow clothing hurried over and whispered a report in his ear.

The Dragon Guards on patrol had discovered traces of ash at the foot of Dragonmont, left by the hatching of young dragons.

After a long while.

Prince Lewyn pieced together various clues and thought of countless possibilities.

Was it a lie that he had slain a fire-breathing monster, and the truth was that he had found dragon eggs?

Or was that fire-breathing monster truly a wild dragon that hadn't died but had been tamed by him?

A thousand thoughts whirled.

In the mind of this Dornish prince, the possibility that Daeron had found dragon eggs and successfully hatched them never occurred, or rather, he didn't dare to think it.

"How could that be possible?"

Prince Lewyn was completely baffled and decided to personally go to the scene to investigate.
