"Get someone else to do that," the King said behind her.
"Ah, Anthony, you say things with so much seriousness," the new man said, nudging him with a laugh, barely sparing me a glance.
Anthony?
I turned to the King. He caught my eyes but said nothing. So he had been right when he said no one knew his real name. But then where did Anthony come from? Was it a middle name?
His people seemed to know him for a long time. How come they didn't know his real name?
I stared at him strangely. Am I truly the only one who knows his name? The thought alone sent a shiver down my spine. I didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad one.
I failed to look away because Tyra noticed. She stepped in front of me, blocking my view, and gave me a wide smile, the kind that warned without words.
"Maxwell," she said, her eyes still fixed on me, "why don't you and the King go to the drawing room and have tea while I prepare your room?"
