"There it is, it wasn't that far after all, huh?" Erza asked, watching the a narrow path between the the rocks in front of them.
Finn watched inside the path. The path was like an entrance to a cave, all dark and closed, but even with the darkness finn could watch a huge wooden doors at the end of the path, barely illuminated by a few torches.
"Is the village inside the mountains?" Finn asked.
"I don't think so, they were attacked by dark wizards after all. If they were hidden inside the mountains as you say, then there's no way they couldn't notice a bunch of dark wizards walking towards their entrance door" erza said firmly, walking across the narrow path.
"The village could just be surrounded by the mountains and some rocks, similar to konoha" kurama explained
"You are right" Finn nodded
"I know" Erza said proudly, thinking that finn was talking to her.
"..."
Both walk for a few minutes until reaching the huge wooden doors, almost three times bigger than finn.
"These doors are huge!" Finn commented
"And there are not a single scratch or sign of damage on them" Erza examine the door.
"So, the wizards did get into the village in another way" Finn said and erza nodded.
Erza stood in front the door, fixed her skirt and adjusted her armor before knocking at the door hard.
They stood quietly for a few seconds then heard quick steps coming from the other side other door and after a few seconds more the huge wooden doors opened.
Finn watched intently, the light come through the doors as they were opened by a small figured.
An old man with long and white beard looked at them carefully, his eyes fixed quickly to erza's sword in her waist and his grib to the door tightened.
"Are you wizards?... legal wizards?" The old man asked.
Finn could notice the fear on his tone and the tired gaze.
"Yes, sir! We are from fairy tail" erza responded quickly, showing the mark on her arm. "We are here to handle those dark wizards."
The old man's eyes opened wide in surprise and happiness, and quickly opened the doors entirely letting finn and erza come inside the village.
"Come in! Come in! I am ruddan, the chief of the village." Chief greeted, enthusiastically.
"Nice to meet you, chief Ruddan. I am Erza Scarlet and this is my colleague Finn, and as I said before we were sent by Fairy Tail" Erza greeted back, adjusting her belt and hidden the sword behind her.
She clearly noticed the fear that Ruddan showed before when he saw the sword.
Erza followed Ruddan inside the village and Finn couldn't hide his surprise at seeing the village.
The mountains were used as huge walls that surrounded the village, the houses are made of stone and wood, and on the top was a huge hole where the light source come in.
"I'm really glad you are here, young wizards!" Ruddan claimed, cleaning a few tears from his eyes. "Those filthy dark wizards used the hole on the top of the village to attack us during the night!" He explained
Erza nodded, while walking over the village she watched a few houses drestoyed and villagers wounded on the edges of their destroyed houses. This clearly wasn't just a normal looting, the dark wizards came to harm this people on purpose, she suspected the looting was just secondary.
"There have been another attacks before?" Erza asked, but the chief denied making her more confused.
"What about warnings or threats?" Finn asked, he felt something was off in this situation.
The village itself wasn't that eye-catching or prosperous to be an attractive to dark wizards, they clearly relay on trades and maybe selling the minerals of this mountains to get some food, so that lets with only one option, the wizards wanted this place for the location.
Having the a base on this place was like a free fortress with enough space to move comfortably.
"... yes... we have been receiving threats for almost 6 months by now. The dark wizards wanted us to move away, but I already explained them that we have no other place to go! This is our home, our families built this village over a hundred years ago" the chief ruddan explained, covering his face with his palms "and now they said they are gonna take the village by force, killing us if necessary... they... they even take a few kids with them!"
Erza placed her hand on the hilt of her sword and gripped it with anger barely contained, she herself have experienced the fear of being attacked without the possibility of doing something against. She knew perfectly well how is being rapted and slaved and she never wished that for anyone, less a kid.
Rudden nodded slowly, cleaning his tears before pointing to the sky, to the top of one of the mountains that surrounded the village.
"They came from that mountain. During the attack, one of the villagers heard one of the wizards said that their guild is located over there" Ruddan revealed "they came down using ropes and leave the same way."
"I see... if they get the village and make it their new main base, with that base on the top they could see who ever wanted to get inside without problems, pretty clever I have to say " Kurama commented
"Then let's wait no more!" Erza said walking towards the huge mountain "hurry up, Finn. We can't let those kids waiting!"
Erza adjusted her belt and armor before jumping and start climbing the mountain, for her, every second that passed was a second of suffering for those kids.
Erza moved her body fast, climbing as fast as she could, even taking small impulses and jump from side to side, making sure to hold herself firmly to the rocks.
"We can't delay, not a single second, finn..." erza said.
"You are right, I'll see you on the top" finn said walking over the mountain easily.
Erza watched spechlees finn walking over the mountain.
"W.. wait! You can walk over over the mountains?!" Erza asked
"Over everything pretty much, except lava I think. This is part of my magic" Finn explained.
The silence fell over them for a few seconds, no one say a single word.
"..."
"..."
2 minutes later
"You better hold me tight, if you let me fall I'll beat you butt!" Erza exclaimed, laying over finn and hugging him tightly, entangling her legs around his waist.
"Then, isn't it better if you climb by yourself?..." Finn asked struggling to walk over the mountain "you aren't exactly a light weig..."
"Finish that sentence and I'm gonna twist your shoulder to the wrong side!" Erza interrupted him, grabbing his shoulder and squeezing it hard "now hurry up, finn. I'll give you five minutes to reach the top!" She ordered
"Five minutes?! But the mountain is at least 150 meters tall!" Finn complained
"Then, shut up and hurry!" Erza demanded
