The rest of the day felt… strange.
Every time I looked at my phone, I expected a new message.
Every time I sat down, I felt like someone was watching.
At lunch, I sat with my usual group of friends.
They were joking, laughing, eating sandwiches.
I smiled, but my mind was elsewhere.
Then my phone vibrated.
I tried to hide it under the table.
No way I wanted anyone to see.
Unknown Number:
Check the library after school.
I almost dropped my tray.
Check the library?
Why?
I typed, Why the library?
Then deleted it.
No reply.
My friends noticed my nervous face.
"Why so serious?" one asked.
I laughed nervously.
"Just… homework stress," I said.
After school, I walked to the library.
Empty halls. Quiet. My footsteps sounded loud.
My heart was pounding.
I reached the library entrance.
Nothing unusual. Just rows of books.
I sat at a table near the window, waiting.
Then I saw it: a small envelope on the table.
No name. No note outside. Just the envelope.
I picked it up carefully.
Inside was a single piece of paper.
"Go to the art room tomorrow at 3 PM. Don't tell anyone.
Something only you will understand will happen."
I blinked.
Something only I will understand…
What did that mean?
I flipped the paper again.
No signature.
No clue who sent it.
I tried to think back.
Did I do anything unusual yesterday?
I could not remember.
Suddenly, my phone buzzed again.
Unknown Number:
Don't be late.
Don't bring anyone.
I gulped.
This was getting serious.
And strange.
And… exciting.
I left the library slowly, heart still pounding.
As I walked home, I whispered to myself,
"This boring life… is officially over."
