REED
I didn't say another word in the hallway, I didn't trust what would come out if I opened my mouth again. Everything I had was already too close to the surface, pressing against every wall I had left, and the hallway was not the place for what needed to happen next.
I grabbed his wrist and pulled him out of the door and down the corridor and didn't stop walking until we reached my room.
I unlocked it, pushed it open and pulled him in and the door closed behind us. Asher opened his mouth and tried to say something but I kissed him.
Not the kind of kiss that asks, not the kind that waits but the kind that arrives like a decision already made, my hands coming up to frame his face, walking him backward until his shoulders met the wall and staying there, staying on his mouth, not letting him speak because I already knew what words he would reach for and I was not ready to hear them and he was not going to say them now.
He made a sound against my mouth and I swallowed it.
