Chapter 4 - Boys Must Learn to Protect Themselves

Li Pu put a lot of thought and effort into how to educate little Broly.

Over three years, the child grew stronger day by day.

As the most talented and potentially powerful Saiyan in dragon ball, he constantly grew stronger just by eating, sleeping, and playing every day.

Furthermore, the child's learning ability was astonishing.

Relying on his knowledge of dragon ball, Li Pu spent over a year independently figuring out some applications of Qi and learned Bukūjutsu.

The result was that Broly, barely over a year old, simply glanced at it, stretched out his hands, gave a little jump, and naturally learned how to fly as well.

Fortunately, Li Pu reacted quickly and grabbed the excited little Broly before he shot straight into the sky, otherwise this little child would definitely have performed a Supersonic Global Flight demonstration right then and there.

That would have been troublesome.

After all, this was not the Earth of Li Pu's previous life; the Earth in the Marvel Universe was very dangerous.

If they were targeted by some Super Villains, or worse, by that Organization with the Ridiculously Long Name that claimed to be righteous but had long since been subjected to Possession, the father and son would face countless open attacks and hidden schemes.

After some thought, even though Li Pu knew he was just a beginner himself, he ultimately decided to teach all the Qi application techniques he had figured out to little Broly first.

"Little Broly, through meditation, can you sense the Qi within your body? I know it's a bit difficult, but..."

"Hmm, Dad, I have a question. Why do I feel two streams of Qi inside me? One is very volatile, like Xiong Da and Xiong Er when they're woken up in the winter. The other stream of Qi is very calm, like the feeling when I sleep while holding 'A Fu'."

Although he knew little Broly's talent was extremely high, Li Pu hadn't expected it to be this high.

He only managed to sense the Qi within his body after understanding the dragon ball plot, constantly and deliberately mobilizing his senses, and spending three or four months just to get the feeling.

But when it came to little Broly, this brat found the Qi in his body in less than a second.

After a moment of minor jealousy over his son's Heaven-Defying talent, Li Pu adjusted his mindset and gave little Broly a thumbs up.

"Excellent, you did great, Broly."

"You must trust your own feelings."

"In fact, everyone's Qi is different. Sometimes, you don't need the five senses to identify a person; you can recognize who they are just by the Qi inside them."

"However, what you are going to learn next, you must only attempt after I have finished speaking.

First, you need to slowly expand your senses to feel more Qi.

First, sense my Qi, and then sense the Qi of everyone else in this World.

You need to remember that Qi can ignore space, distance, and even species. As long as consciousness exists, there will be Qi unique to it.

However, do not interfere with them. You must be a calm observer, sense the Qi of those people, and analyze..."

Little Broly took a little more time to sense this time, even closing his eyes. After about a minute, he opened his eyes again.

"Dad, I have a question. The kind of Qi you mentioned... it seems to exist not only on Earth. I can sense the presence of Qi even outside of Earth."

Li Pu was stunned. So far, the farthest distance he could sense Qi was only a little over two thousand kilometers.

Yet, little Broly, in less than a minute, had expanded his sensory range beyond Earth.

What does it mean when comparing people leads to death, and comparing goods leads to disposal?

The gap in talent is probably the distance between the summit of Mount Everest and the bottom of the Mariana Trench, isn't it?

You brat, being this outstanding makes things difficult for your Old Father.

In order to continue educating little Broly, Li Pu decided to start practicing through the night while simultaneously maintaining the appearance of a "calm and composed" master.

"Very good, Broly. Since you can sense that different people have different Qi, can you distinguish the differences between them?"

"Differences?" Broly pondered for a moment.

"I feel like your Qi, Dad, is like a roaring bonfire; it feels warm when I get close to it.

Most people's Qi is just like ash, flickering. I feel like I could extinguish it if I got close and wasn't careful.

A few people's Qi is stronger, about the size of a candle flame. But it's still very weak; I feel like I could extinguish it with a finger.

There is also some Qi that is very powerful, bigger than yours, Dad, and bigger than mine, but I think it would take some effort to extinguish them."

Good heavens, Li Pu inwardly exclaimed, 'Good heavens.'

His excellent son's first reaction upon sensing someone else's Qi was to "extinguish" them—it must be said, this is truly Super Saiyan behavior.

"No, extinguishing them is another matter. They haven't provoked us yet, and we don't need to gain anything from them right now, unlike hunting for meat."

To make little Broly listen, Li Pu had to use language the child could easily understand.

"Son, can you sense what is different about these people's Qi? I'm not talking about size, just the feeling they give you."

Little Broly nodded. "Dad's Qi makes me feel warm, while some Qi is very cold. Some Qi smells like the Tomato and Egg Noodles you make for me, and some Qi carries a 'stench,' like Wolverine droppings."

Seeing that Broly could distinguish the different types of Qi, Li Pu quickly struck while the iron was hot, telling his excellent son to trust his judgment regarding Qi.

What is seen, heard, or smelled might be an illusion, but very few people can disguise their Qi—after all, this is the Marvel Universe, and the Cultivation system targeting "Qi" found in dragon ball does not exist here.

"Owners of Qi that makes you feel fear or discomfort might be able to harm you. Furthermore, not everyone in this World is good; bad people exist too. Even if you aren't afraid of them, you must remain cautious and vigilant."

This was Li Pu's first safety education lesson for Broly.

After all, in the crisis-ridden Marvel World, relying solely on overwhelming force to crush everything isn't impossible, but it is very difficult.

No matter how high your martial power is, there's always a risk of failure in the Marvel Universe; you must constantly guard against schemes and various accidents.

Next, Li Pu began teaching Broly a Qi application technique he had realized through hunting.

He taught Broly how to disguise his Qi and how to lower his presence so he wouldn't be easily discovered by prey.

Similarly, doing this would reduce the chance of being targeted by malicious people or other entities.

"I understand, Dad."

Little Broly was very smart; he instantly understood his Old Father's good intentions, even learning to draw inferences and immediately putting them into practice.

"Just now, while I was sensing, a stream of Rotten Egg Smelling Qi seemed to have discovered my presence and was searching for me. But just like you said, I first hid my Qi, and then I gave it a good whack."

Huh? What the heck was that?

Li Pu was somewhat confused, but after he carefully checked little Broly's body and confirmed the child seemed fine, he relaxed the heart that had been hanging in suspense.

However, he didn't know that... just moments ago, an old man in a suit was smugly reviewing the script he had written: Johnny, whom he had signed to be the Ghost Rider, was going crazy and fleeing his original life after his father's sudden death.

This old man was Mephisto, the Lord of the Hell Dimension. Just as he was preparing to catch up to Johnny, whose life was spiraling out of control, and awaken the Ghost Rider to serve him, he suddenly felt a gaze upon him.

That's right, the gazer was little Broly.

However, this powerful Dimension Lord immediately "discovered" him, seeing the powerful, supernova-bright Soul of the Super Saiyan.

"What a powerful and high-quality Soul!"

Surprised and delighted, Mephisto ignored the Ghost Rider and rushed to search for Broly's figure.

But at that moment, because Broly had learned the technique taught by Li Pu, his Qi immediately quieted down.

Mephisto instantly lost his target.

Just as he was frantically scratching his head and spinning around, unable to find the target anywhere, the hidden and secretly approaching little Broly punched the Old Geezer's Qi.

Moreover, he hit and ran, giving him no chance to catch him.

Being "hit" by the Super Saiyan's Qi, Mephisto was instantly "broken" (defenseless)—in the magical sense of "breaking defense"—the magic he used to hide his presence in the mortal World was punched through by little Broly, creating a vulnerability.

Immediately afterward, as a sparkling Halo of light flashed, a bald woman appeared before the old man Mephisto had transformed into.

Damn it!

Just as he cursed, Mephisto, the Lord of the Hell Dimension, was taken down by the Earth Guardian, Sorcerer Ancient One.

When operating on Earth, Mephisto neither dared nor found it easy to let his true form descend, so he had to hide from Ancient One.

If Ancient One discovered him, what he faced was a one-sided beating, and he was immediately sent back to the Hell Dimension.

Not only did he fail to find little Broly's Soul, but the Ghost Rider he was about to acquire was also ruined. Returning to his Hell Palace, Mephisto began to rage.

"Who was it! Don't let me find out who ambushed me!" Mephisto roared on his throne.

However, because he was reluctant to destroy his own palace, he simply went to find his son, Dormammu, to vent his anger.

Crackle crackle... Bang bang bang... Ahhh... Beating a child on a rainy day, since he was idle anyway, he might as well let off some steam.
