The bear moves slower then before and as it closes in I sidestep but as I go to slash out with my sword it suddenly leaps back clearly prepared for my attack and in the next second its massive paw slams into my side, sending me flying into a nearby tree dropping my sword in the process.
clearly it was injured and moving slower how could it suddenly attack as if it didn't feel the wound on its side, I barely have time to think when it starts to run directly at me I quickly roll to the side but as I do I can feel that one of my ribs is probably broken.
Just as I get to my feet it smashes the tree that I was just thrown against, I start to look for my sword just to see that it is bent and broken.
"you served me well old friend" I say as I get ready to try and fight this beast with my bare hands
"yet again I'm forced to fight bare handed" I say in a irritated way
"is this really a time for jokes" Felicity says clearly not amused
"I lived my last life as a soldier and then died saving people who probably didn't even know my name, so if I can't make jokes about my messed up life and situation then do you want me to be the dark, cold and detached person I was in my last life" I say as dodge and kick the bear, which it clearly doesn't like the feeling of being kicked in the face repeatedly
"I much rather you be safe and sound and not putting your life at risk" Felicity says sounding as if she is on the verge of crying
I try to ignore her even though it hurt my heart for some unknown reason, I've barely known her for a day so why does it affect me that she is about to cry.
I push that thought to the back of my mind I don't have the pleasure of being able to get distracted, not in this situation.
I continue to fight the bear punches and kicks landing whenever I can find an opening, but for every solid punch or kick I land it follows up with a swipe of its paw or bite aimed at my throat, so I can't really focus on dealing damage since I have to be prepared to dodge or block.
"why not use your enhancement ability?" Felicity says, strangely it had slipped my mind
"you just reminded me that I can use that, but why doesn't it appear in my skill list?" I say as I activate enhancement and then the next punched that landed on the bear caused it to stagger back a few steps
"oh now I'm doing damage" I say mocking my own ability to fight
"I don't know why it doesn't appear, it might be because it's not a power from this world" Felicity says sounding a bit distracted
Now that I can deal damage I better make good use of the fact it's not smart enough to know that I am limited in this form especially without a weapon, I advance closer to the bear and with every step I can feel the power growing weaker I don't have long maybe a minute or two.
As soon as I get Infront of the bear I swing with everything I got, with all the memories of my unit, with the weight of all the training from my last life, with every ounce of strength I can manage to muster and as it lands on the bear.
Nothing happens it doesn't move, doesn't react, nothing... as if I missed or as if my attack was just a gust of wind, that's when all of a sudden the head of the bear explodes turning into a mist of blood and brain matter.
"I did it...I got revenge for my unit" I say as I walk towards the cave, but as I take a step everything goes dark and I collapse.
-In The Realm Of The Gods-
-Felicity's POV-
"ALEXANDER" I scream, but as soon as I was about to teleport to Alexander I hear them
"and what do we have here? spying on alexander again" Raito and Kurai say at the same time as they step forward to stop me from leaving
"I don't have the time for this, Alexander needs me" I say as I try to break free from them but something is stopping me
"you know you can't descend to the mortal world without a soul contract or a priestess" Raito says as if mocking me since she knows I don't have a priestess
"so what am I supposed to do?" I ask as I start to cry
"it's simple just form a contract with alexander" Kurai says but Raito looks like she is about to get angry
"that is a good idea" I say
-In The Mortal World-
-Alexanders POV-
I feel like I am floating on a cloud or floating down a river, something about this felt familiar but also different.
"did I die again, that can't be right" I think
"you are not dead....at least not yet" Felicity says
"Good to know...very comforting" I think
"we don't have the time for you to be sarcastic" Felicity says appearing in front of me in
"so what happened for you to appear before me like this" I think realising that where ever I am Felicity can read my mind again
"you passed out and are still in the open...I am here to sign a contract with you so I can travel to the mortal world and help you since you have over used your mana" Felicity says as she reaches out and grabs my hand
I don't resist, I don't know why I trust her so much, but so far she hasn't done anything to make me not trust her.
"so what do I need to do?" I ask
"you don't have to do anything really, just accept to sign a contract with me" Felicity says as a warm light envelops our hands
"I agree" I think and then suddenly a glowing coin appears above our hands and moves to my shoulder where I can feel a warm current flow as it disappears
"contract done...from now on I can be by your side and travel together" Felicity says with smile on her face
Suddenly felicity disappears and for some reason I feel like I'm moving, I guess she is helping my body.
A few hours pass before I can open my eyes but my body is still in too much pain too move, as I open my eyes I am surprised to see that my head is resting on Felicity's lap and she is gently stroking my face.
"what are you doing?" I ask, at which point she quickly stands up and my head quickly makes contact with the stone floor
"are you trying to kill me? or knock me out so you can have your way with my unconscious body?" I ask in a teasing manner as I muster the strength to sit up and lean against the stone wall of the cave
"I...I was just rubbing your face, this is the first time we have had proper contact" Felicity says shyly clearly she didn't have any other motives
"so now that I'm awake are you planning on returning to the realm of the gods" I ask as I start to stretch getting feeling back to my body, Felicity seems taken aback by what I said almost like I said something that hurt her feelings
"I was hopping that we could spend more time together and maybe travel around" Felicity says pouting
"would that be a good idea? I mean you are a goddess" I say as I stand up
"well someone needs to keep an eye on you so you don't go ahead and get yourself killed again" Felicity says walking forward to support me as I walk to the entrance of the cave
"Fine, but if anything happens you leave at the first sign of trouble" I say for some reason worrying about her safety
out of the corner of my eye I can that she is smiling and is clearly happy that I worry about her, which I guess a good thing.
"so alexander I will be in your care from now on" Felicity says as she turns into a small white bird with golden eyes, it looked very cute but why is she sitting on my head.
"so is this what you meant when you said traveling together" I chuckle as I rub her head with one of my fingers
"I look forward to spending time together" Felicity says excitedly
"me too I guess, especially since you didn't really give me much of a choice" I say actually looking forward to what this world has in store and since I have a companion by my side it should at least be entertaining.
